We've just moved to Herne Hill and had some urgent plumbing issues. As we are new to the area, we didn't have any contacts for plumbers but found Award Plumbing on Google. Normally we wouldn't go for a business with only a few reviews, but as it was urgent we had to make an exception - and we're glad we did. Mike made himself available within the hour and delivered excellent service, sorting our leak (as well as some other unrelated issues) and offered good advice. My family have used Mike for 20+ years. Now I live alone and continue to ask him to do work that needs doing. He goes beyond what I’d expect-he’lm be there as soon as if it’s important or schedule it in when he has had time to source what is needed, if anything is needed. He passes on tradesman discounts at Screwfix etc. charging the client what it cost him snot what it could have cost them. He makes the effort to get it done as quickly as possible and even lets me bring the dog in his van for the ride (I bought the wrong replacement part). He did not believe me when I said even Thames Water could not cut off my water supply and did the job anyway. Whilst the washing machine was out, he insisted on cleaning the floor before putting the new pane in. He once got a dishwasher and a washing machine in his van across all London for me on an ankle that had just had a skin graft. Ta for that Mike.

Excellent service and would thoroughly recommend. Mike is very friendly, polite and someone you can really trust which makes a big difference. We had been having central heating/hot water issues and now all fixed. Several other companies have messed us around in the past with arriving; we’ve heard all the excuses (broken van, family emergency etc). Mike arrived when he said he would, no dramas and just cracked on and fixed everything while explaining to us the issue and how we can avoid in future. We will definitely be calling out again for any issues or servicing. Support a local business rather than a London-wide plumbing company and you won’t regret it.
