Raymond to the rescue! Our boiler packed up earlier this week and he was round later the same day, having already given some helpful thoughts on the phone about the most likely problem.
He was extremely thorough and personable and make a great effort to explain all the tests he was doing - also giving useful advice for the future of our boiler (sadly short-lived it sounds like!).
He was also not precious about whether we would end up needing to get another engineer for the repair after his diagnosis (in order to have hot water and heating as soon as possible), which I thought was very open and cooperative of him - although, happily, waiting for his next availability to make the repair seemed like the fastest and best option anyway. Everything is now back in working order.

Raymond and his team provided excellent service, first by servicing our boiler and then installing a new one. My kitchen tap started to drip constantly and needed a replacement. We had a gas leak in our flat and were fearing the worst. Then Ray and Bob showed up and fixed the leak efficiently before performing a comprehensive check of our whole flat.

Our boiler casing was also knackered so Ray sorted a replacement and came back in the evening to replace it at a fair price.

When we invited Raymond to inspect our very old boiler he was forced to mark it as not safe for use. It's not fun news to hear but he handled it very professionally. If you're a new homeowner make sure you are familiar with gas safe.

He was then extremely accommodating, motivated by our specific personal circumstances, in shuffling his commitments to organise a quick boiler replacement.

Raymond is friendly, communicates well, and obviously takes great pride in his work.

In my limited understanding his work looks to be good quality. He is extremely thorough in his examination and diagnosis (you will most certainly hear about any previous work that is not up to scratch), and his prices are fair. And he leaves the place tidy :).
