I attended the DIY in a day class today & had a thoroughly great time. Jonty has a personable and skill level appropriate teaching style & is a lovely man. My hopes for the day were to be able to tackle basic DIY tasks & to give me a firm grounding from which to expand in to more complex projects, this class did not fail to deliver in helping me to achieve this. I feel confident now that I can select & use the appropriate tools & fixings to tackle everyday tasks. I can't wait to take the next class.

Booked a Mini Maker workshop for Felicity (age 6) & Iain (age 38) & they had a brilliant time! It's a brilliant workshop space, easy to find and the menu, staff & instructions were great Felicity says "I liked being able to use all the tools myself & being able to choose how I made & decrorated my dragon was the best bit!" Iain had great fun & enjoyed being able to do something like that with Felicity - she could work independently beside me & I got to make something too! When we are down here again we would love to visit again!!

I attended the 1-day workshop where we made a chopping board, from start to finish, the whole experience was wonderful. Jonty and Amanda are friendly, and Jonty's knowledge and teaching skills are fabulous. I had no previous woodwork experience but spent the day learning how to saw, chisel, sand and oil and have made a piece I am extremely proud of. I can’t recommend highly enough, it’s left me eager to learn more. I loved it! Thank you Ash and Co for a great experience!

My 9 year old son has attended numerous mini maker and scrappy racer workshops since he was about 5. He absolutely loves the opportunity to be creative and use real woodworking tools in a real workshop. Jonty and Amanda make you very welcome, giving clear guidance and ideas, as well as allowing the children to explore and try things out themselves. During lockdown, Jonty went the extra mile to help us create a remote workshop "party" across zoom. The personal touch which you would never get from multinational companies.

I bought the make at home Crossbow kit for our 9 year old as a Christmas gift. He'd expressed an interest in making things out of wood but other kits online looked like they came out of a factory and really basic or poorly made. Ash & Co's kit was perfect, pitched perfectly at a child with the support of an adult, hard enough to learn some skills but no hard that it would put a child off. My son would start something and I'd then finish it off ready for the next part. Particularly liked the supporting videos and the fact that it's been put together by a real carpenter. If we'd been closer we would have booked a workshop. Perfect gift for a pre teen to do with an adult or a young teen/more confident child on their own. Thanks.
