“Came in with family for a reunion. Staff were lovely and food was well priced and good quality. Always nice that I am able to bring my dog places with me. He wasn't allowed in the main dining area but that was not a problem as we were quite happy in the bar area. Location can be a little hard to find behind the bushes if you don't know whete you are going. Would come again.”

“Travelled to the area to attend an event & my partner will always take any opportunity for a carbonara! Amazing, AMAZING find. Great food, Hand Made pizza was beautiful & the pasta did not disappoint. Just had to have dessert if the main was THAT good. Luke provided genuine & personable customer service. The restaurant is immaculate and the decor is pretty. Lots of love & attention has been put into this place. Lovely ambience, the music was at a good level, not too loud (or too quiet!) I could hear my partner just fine. Highly Recommend & Will be coming back! 5*****”

“Myself, partner and two of our kids including a 6 month old, just had the most lovely meal! Only made the booking 40 mins prior to visiting. So accommodating, staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, the service is fantastic! We had a Sunday roast (we had the beef) and it was perfection… probably one of the best roasts I’ve had eating out. The countless times I have been to various pubs/restaurants that charge an absolute fortune for a Sunday roast, only to be disappointed by the quality and taste! Nothings beats a home cooked roast… but this was spot on!! So tasty! The atmosphere is really lovely and cosy and they have lots of little Christmas events coming up! Great place for the perfect family meal, kids and dogs welcome. 10/10”

“I visited Cöte in Newbury for the first time last night for a belated birthday meal with my parents. I was highly impressed with the excellent food and the exceptional service, particularly from our waitress Kayleigh. I had a filet steak cooked to perfection medium rare, I usually ask for rare because most places overcook slightly, but the chef at Cöte cooked it perfectly medium rare. The steak itself was excellent, in my top 5 ever, and I eat a lot of steak. The peppercorn sauce was creamy and delicious. I also had the cheese soufflé which was super tasty, light and a wonderful cheese and herb taste, I would definitely have it again. Their wine selection is great and I particularly enjoyed their cinnamon espresso martini, very moreish. All of the staff were too notch, our waitress Kayleigh was wonderful, they even got me a birthday card which was a lovely touch. Unfortunately I live 100 miles away from this branch, but I would definitely return the next time I come to visit my family. Highly recommended.”

“Came down to Newbury in our motorhome for the parkrun in Greenham Common. The Swan was close by and dog friendly so we visited. Not an extensive menu but good enough and l guess what they do they do well. We had a gorgeous Jerk Chicken and followed up with a very decent sticky toffee pudding. Bed and blanket for the dogs and treats. Got the impression from a couple of locals thay we may have been allowed to stay in their car park with our motorhome but the 'Boss' wasn't there so rather than put staff in an awkward position we moved on. Staff were friendly and attentive and dogs very welcome. Lots of locals with their dogs in the bar. Very pleasant evening.”

“Beautiful pub, lovely welcoming staff, great pint of cider, but the star is the food. I can't speak for the whole menu, but if the burgers my other half and I had were any indication it's worth trying the rest of the menu... I'm picky about my burgers. Or. Well, everything really. Working in hospitality sort of gives you the burden of knowledge. Or maybe it just makes you a judgemental tosser. Six of one. The Carnarvon is a pretty pub, nicely decorated and kept in a good state - nothing falling to bits, nice and clean; through to the toilet. Staff in the middle of line cleaning a couple of the hand pull lines as we came in - while admittedly meaning that they had to deny me a pint of Proper Job, indicates they care and are attentive to beer care. Big tick in an important box for me. Aspalls instead; nice choice of cider, well kept, lovely pint. Staff seemed to be enjoying the work, they were nice to chat with and helpful. Attentive but not pushy. Perfecto. Based on all of that, and a quick glance at the reception, (which was where the handsome dark wooden panelling started in the building...) I'm going to make an educated assumption and give full marks for the rooms too, though we only ducked in for lunch, just feels unfair to ding on that while giving a nice review. I'm picky but I'm not petty. Back to the burger though. That was easily the best burger I've had in a long while, decidedly up there in terms of best burger I've ever had and my other half had essentially the same response, we both utterly wolfed it down. Absolutely deserved compliments to the chef, just outstanding. Very enjoyable visit. If that's the standard of everything but particularly that damn burger, we'll be back even though it's a bit of a trek across from Devizes.”
