The Best Restaurants in Crondall, Hampshire, United Kingdom (2025)

I met with a small group of six here recently for lunch. The meal was excellent. One small criticism though, the lunch menu states two prices, one for two courses and one for three courses. The pasta dishes are first on the list, and then the various meat dishes. Under the meat dishes in tiny almost illegible print it states £5.00 surcharge, so beware! Apart from that, no complaints and the staff are very friendly

Having phoned up, luckily managed to get a same evening booking. We were not disappointed. The staff were so friendly, the service was first class and the food was outstanding. The panna cotta dessert was the best I’ve ever had.

The food and ambience was excellent. Our grandchildren declared it the best carbonara they have had. It was very full and only 2 waiting staff, so things took a bit longer to arrive. Car park was full so a bit difficult to find somewhere to park. Would recommend the food and pleasantness of staff.

We walked along today from church crookham, haven't lived here long. And it's beautiful!! Lovely atmosphere, happy smiling staff, food was FANTASTIC, my fussy kiddos cleared their plates! The little play area kept them entertained whilst waiting (which wasn't long at all!!) Think this will become a regular spot for us!!

Lovely local pub, should go more often. The menu has a great selection. Service is good and you never have to wait for anything. Dog friendly which is a bonus. Thanks for looking after us.

Lovely gem down by the canal. Food is constantly fantastic and has great portions. 😋 Friendly staff and good atmosphere. Daily fish specials,Sunday roasts are the best. Try the Chicken Parmigiana 🐔 it's my favourite 😍

Nice place for a roast! Make sure you book as they're always booked up. We went as a 6 and everyone enjoyed the food. Me and my partner arrived early and walked the dog along the canal put the back and had a great time. Dog friendly pub! Parking is limited but plenty on the road

Nice pub, we went to quiz night and it had a great atmosphere. My only complaint was the bar man wasn’t friendly and bluntly refused to take our drinks order at the table when they usually do. His response was “I’m too busy” he could have been more charming.

What a great find. The place is wonderful, such a fantastic little country pub. The staff are fantastic so helpful and friendly. The food was lovely and really good value. This place is definitely worth a visit. I will be returning soon. Kev

The Plume of Feathers is now under new management and it is superb. I have eaten there three times in two weeks and the food is just exceptional and reasonably priced. Completely refurbished with a beautiful slate floor, new tables and clever lighting makes the place feel more spacious. The candles are a nice touch. It is so welcoming with Peter and his team being gracious hosts makes it a joy to go there. I cannot recommend highly enough.

Yet another treat yesterday at the Hampshire Arms. A midway lunch between Christmas and New Year was a welcome break after cooking over the holiday. This is a super village restaurant and pub/bar. A great location in beautiful Crondall village. When I come here it’s always an exciting and reliable menu and quality food in a beautiful calm and relaxing atmosphere. The staff, and one young lady in particular, are friendly and bend over backwards to make you feel at home. I have nothing but praise for this place.

This lovely little country pub really is a hidden gem ! We called to see if they were able to fit in a party of 10 on a Sunday last minute . The staff were so friendly and helpful, our food was served promptly and all together . It really was amazing, well presented, hot, home cooked and so tasty . The delicious homemade apple and blackberry crumble was made from fruit grown in the garden ..... you can't get much fresher or locally sourced than that . We ate in the lovely outside area, there were out door games for the children to play with and we all enjoyed some much needed family time . We can't wait to come back ! Thank you x

After hearing management had moved from Six Bells to here, we popped in for Sunday lunch. Greeted by a good roast dinner that included some cauliflower cheese. The beef was ok but not amazing.Nicely roasted, potato,carrots, sweet potato and even asparagus. Some fried greens added some much needed colour. Topped with big Yorkshire and tasty gravy. However, the dish was crying out for some simple fresh green vegetables such as peas, broccoli beans etc. Not only for colour and texture but also maybe a bit healthier! Big plans for the garden reconstruction. So can't wait to return in the summer for some Al fresco jazz, pizza BBQ etc

Visited twice and both times great friendly service. Very clean and organised.plenty of comfortable seating and menu to suit all. Looking forward to returning

We went to The Exchequer for lunch on my birthday. The service we received from the minute we arrived was warm and friendly. Special attention was given to my toddler and we were kindly gifted a dessert for my birthday - we were even treated to a rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’ by the staff! Our food was great - well presented and very tasty. It was our first time visiting and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Will definitely visit again!

We had a super family meal here today. All five meals arrived together, presented well and all of a high standard. The Norfolk Chicken burger was very tasty. The staff were polite, helpful and attentive but let us enjoy the meal without rushing us to finish.

We came across this place whilst on a walk alone the Basingstoke Canal. Stopped for lunch. Quiet, out of the way pub in Crookham Village. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Bit on the dearer side of pub meal prices but you should try everything at least once to have an opinion. Had a gastro pub kind of vibe to it. The burger was lovely. Cooked well. Lovely setting, worth a visit.
