Delicious food - the halloumi kebab was a tasty vegetarian option and all the meat ones were fresh and really flavourful, with all the portions being very generous as well. The chips and dips on the house are fab as well, we had to ask for more tortilla chips. Friendly staff that went above and beyond to make our experience pleasant and made it a special moment when they kindly brought out the cake we'd gotten for the birthday celebration. We'll definitely be back!! Thanks so much đ

Everything was amazing! The meats on the mixed grill was all super flavourful. The hummus kavurma and smoked salmon carpaccio is perfect for starters, not too heavy, not too overpowering. Tea was excellent! Baklava was the perfect sweet ending to the meal. Definitely worth a visit!

This place was recommended to me by a friend. Easily the best food Iâve had on my trip to the UK. The location is convenient to Basingstoke, the atmosphere is as authentic Turkish as it gets. The owner is very friendly and accommodating. He made several recommendations and we couldnât resist. The food is world class. The charcoal fired grill and classic Turkish decor add to the whole experience. I will definitely come back before I go home.

I now have a new favourite pub. Staff is friendly and professional, food is great and the atmosphere very cosy.

I had a good meal with a traditional prwn cocktail and avocado starter and a halibut fillet sitting on a home made mash potato with asparagus. The criticism would be the small quantity of fish for a 25.95GBP dish.

Food was good, although the chicken wing portion is very stingy for the price, mains were nice, good portion size. Friend had bruschetta, which it wasn't.. cherry tomatoes cut in half with basalmic vinegar on ciabatta bread.. My main gripe was the service, it took 20 mins to take our starter order (pub was virtually empty) received them nearly an hour after sitting at the table.. The young ladies serving were polite and friendly.. easily fixed, to make a better experience for next time.

The Queen's Head is an absolute gem! The food is outstandingâflavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. The staff are friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home. Live music adds to the vibrant atmosphere, and the surroundings are simply stunning. Whether you're there for a meal, a drink, or to enjoy the tunes, itâs an all-around fantastic experience. Highly recommend!

Stopped by on our travels, had a meal and drinks and stayed in our campervan in the carpark (I believe in better weather you can park on the grass). The meals are large portions and the fire was on keeping the place cosy. A few days later we stopped by again on our travels back but arrived too late to eat, luckily they remembered us and let us stop in the carpark again. Will return.

A great pub in a great location. Lovely food and atmosphere and we stayed the night in the car park with their agreement. We will be back next time we are passing. Thank you â¤ď¸. Cx

A classic, elegant, and tranquil typical English old-style hotel in the meadows. Wonderful decors and breakfast (better than most restaurants), also perfect view from the windows. Service was really classy and friendly, the whole package came to me as a serendipity -- didn't expect to find this hidden gem in the middle of Basingstoke!

I stayed here for the first time earlier this week. Itâs a lovely building, set in immaculate grounds. The staff were among the best I have known: friendly, welcoming, pleasant, nothing was too much trouble. My room was huge, cool, spotless. The bed was massive and very comfortable. I cannot speak highly enough of the place and the staff. I am in that locale quite often and I will make sure to stay there as often as possible. Thank you all for making it such a lovely stay.

Hidden in the heart of this little town, we found an absolute gemâsmall in size but huge in character. The atmosphere? Effortlessly cool and laid-back, the kind of place where time slows down just enough for you to truly enjoy the moment. The chips? Perfectionâcrispy, golden, and downright addictive. But the real star? Pauline. Her warmth and energy made the experience unforgettable. If youâre ever in town, do yourself a favor and drop byâyou wonât regret it.

Wow! What a great find, called in for Sunday lunch and it was simply amazing! Succulent roast beef, with the perfect amount of veg! We shared a cheesecake for dessert, which was the best that Iâve had in a very long time! The service was brilliant, and the owner was checking on tables to make sure everyone was happy! I would definitely visit again when in the area!

This is a great place to have an event or a large party. Proper family run venue with the wife running the kitchen and the husband running front of house with his daughter the food quality and decoration is unimaginable. The service is top notch. As a team they are always looking to help out every party member when assistance is needed. Good selection of drinks too. Lovely outside dining area with the option for outside catering as they have the facilities. Massive car park and a very quiet location close to the M3 just outside of Basingstoke. They really made me happy when I visited. Totally recommend this place.

A superb meal with perfectly cooked calves, liver, and spot on seasoning of the mash and spinach. The Thai fish bon bons were just the right hint of spices, too. Well kept pint of ale and a good wine selection. Really friendly staff who knew what they were doing. Very clean and warm interior, and there's plenty of parking I can't wait to return.

We took a drive from Oxfordshire to dine here. About a 42 minute beautiful scenic drive to get there. Hospitality is friendly and warm. The food was just as we like it and reminded us of a blend of an English breakfast and a South African Wimpy breakfast. Bacon was streaky as we know and love it. Mrs. Balls chutney offered as a sauce! Overall a lovely experience. Highly recommend. Go early.

Good place to stop for a coffee or a quick bite. Especially good on a bike night when they're on! Food is well priced and decent quality. A highchair was available when we visited, which was a good thing to bear in mind for future visits. It's also a dog friendly venue, so good to stop in after a walk.

What a Gem! Went for a walk and stumbled across this little beauty! Staff are incredibly friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable about the food and drinks they serve. The food... well just delightfully delicious! We had a grouse starter which was beautiful. For mains the steak gnocchi and duck sausages both were lovely dishes. Definitely will be returning to this gorgeous restaurant and would advise if you fancy something scrumdidliumptious head over there. Also the decor is a classy mix of old wooden beams and mood lighting. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

Fantastic food. They have a specials board and are so passionate about their food. They were so good at catering to allergies, I didn't feel that anything was compromised on. The fillet was perfectly cooked and after we retired to the sofas to enjoy another pint. We will definitely be back.

We came for Sunday lunch today. I don't often eat a roast dinner out so I opted for the chicken a la creme, but my boyfriend had the lamb shank roast. My chicken was well cooked and there was a decent portion, but everything was pretty bland. I put a lot of salt and pepper on, but it needed some flavour. It wasn't bad, but not as good as it looked. Boyfriend's lamb was nice. The star of the savoury was the saganaki shrimp starter...yum! I had sticky toffee pudding with custard and homemade biscoff ice cream for pudding and it was fab. I'd go back to try other menu items and more desserts. It is very expensive, but the service was very good.

Hereâs a glowing review for The Derby Inn: The Derby Inn is a hidden gem! From the moment you walk in, youâre greeted with a warm, cozy atmosphere that feels both timeless and welcoming. The decor strikes a perfect balance between rustic charm and modern comfort, creating an inviting space for patrons of all ages. The staff here are incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure every visitor feels like a local. Their menu is fantastic, with a great selection of both classic pub fare and creative dishes that showcase the chefâs talent. Every meal is prepared with quality ingredients and served promptly. I highly recommend trying their signature chicken chewers â crispy, perfectly cooked, and absolutely delicious. What truly sets The Derby Inn apart is its exceptional drink selection. They offer a superb variety of beers, ales, and local brews, along with a surprisingly extensive wine and cocktail list. Thereâs truly something for everyone, and the bartenders are always happy to recommend a drink based on your preferences. Whether youâre popping in for a quick drink after work, a hearty meal with friends, or a cozy evening with family, The Derby Inn is the place to go. Itâs the kind of pub that feels like home every time you visit, with a relaxed vibe and consistently outstanding service. Highly recommended!
