Warm and friendly, with the open fire blazing and atmosphere to match. I had the blade of beef with mash and bourguignon gravy. The meat was so tender and delicious - I had to ask the chef how he had made it. Would definitely recommend this dish and pub and will return when back in the area!

Came nearby for a hike and was searching around for a local pub to find this gem. Food was incredible, ordered the pork belly and every aspect of the dish was cooked perfectly well. Really incredible flavours, this was done perfectly. Stayed for dessert and ordered sticky toffee pudding which also was done well. Highly recommended.

This pub was established in the 1400s and was refurbished in 1972. Cozy space to have a delicious dinner and/or drinks. Good value for money, the plates are generous. Food is fresh, wholesome and in season. Staff is welcoming, warm and helpful. The duck salad and the venison were our favorites. Wine wise they have enough and good options. Perhaps better to make a reservation as might get packed mostly on weekends.

After a somewhat frosty reception, when we were almost turned away even though we had booked a table, the meal and service was excellent. I was also disappointed that I was not asked how I would like my beef cooked, and it was definitely not as well done as I would have requested, however that being said, it was cooked really beautifully, and was actually lovely (so maybe what do I know!). TBH the initial reception did rather put a damper on the whole experience for me personally, which is why I have given 4 stars instead of 5. Maybe that's a little harsh, if I could have given 4.5 stars then I would have. I would recommend a meal here if you are a foody person, I think that you would get the most out of it, for me though I prefer something slightly more casual and normal in the menu department (no chocolate dessert of any kind on the menu is a serious lack IMHO).

Stopped by after a lovely local walk on Saturday afternoon. Pub was pretty quiet but received a very warm welcome, and excellent Guinness and a lovely coffee. They have a secluded garden to the rear which is really nice. The pub is set out for eating mainly but has stools and tables in the bar area and it's really cosy. The staff were very attentive and would happily go back if in the area.

A short wait while my order was cooked, great fish and chips , superb batter, effectively wrapped efficiently served. Wants for nothing ! I highly recommend! Fred Werner

Hands down the best Chinese in the area! Always polite, food is always hot, flavoursome and never oily. The special fried rice is the best I’ve tasted anywhere, has a beautiful colour to it and flavour. Unlike anything I’ve ever had anywhere else. Service is always quick, even on Friday and Saturdays, and prices are very reasonable to match the good portions.

Had a standard meal for 1. All was well cooked, tasty and ample servings. Value for money was money was good, if you are clever you could order an extra dish and share between 2. Then it will be very good deal 👌. Prawn crackers included in price. Nice friendly people, I will return.

while the food was just okay—not bad, but nothing particularly special—the service truly stood out. Annabelle and Saffron were absolutely fantastic! They were attentive, friendly, and made the experience so much better with their warm and professional approach. Their excellent service was the highlight of the evening, and I truly appreciated their effort.

I took my mum out for lunch for her 80th birthday today and we chose the mill. What a fantastic place! The staff were amazing! Kelly, Sophie and saffron did everything to make the experience special for her they even gave her a special dessert and told her it was free for her birthday! We had a lovely Boxing Day and especially enjoyed the snug we were in and had to ourselves. Ellie was wonderful and a great waitress. I think though she handed over during our meal and we felt a bit left and not really served once she left. The food was delicious and we did have a lovely family time, so thank you.

We usually have a takeaway once a week from these guys. Personal service is always received, nothing is to much trouble. Food arrives, within the times given and HOT. In addition, we placed a larger order for a works do last week. Everything went without a hitch. A pre order was placed earlier in the day and delivered at the time requested. We wouldn't go anywhere else for our Indian.

The food and service is really good. Staff are always friendly and make you feel appreciated. I've had food from here several times (large group) and it's always been hot and tasty.

The village Tandoori is the place I go when it comes to good food. I’ve been ordering from them on and off for the past year. Each time I order something without fail it’s flavoursome and gets delivered quickly. Regardless that I work 12hr shifts if I’m craving a curry the latest I’ve ordered was 22:00pm and they still delivered on time.

Everything we have had here is incredible. Coming from America I miss orange chicken but the crispy chili beef has become a favorite. Love the veggie fried noodles and salt and pepper ribs as well. When I usually get Chinese I regret it half way in, but this place causes no such thing!

A beautifully decorated English pub with an excellent menu and reasonable prices. The food was superb, as was the service (thanks Chloe). I had the Steak & Ale pie and Bread & Butter Pudding, and they were both delicious. Highly recommended.

Extremely tasty food. Very clean. Great decor and friendly helpful staff. I'm vegetarian and my girlfriend is vegan and coeliac and we sti felt like we had choice. The staff were extremely helpful with this and their colour coded plate system for allergies put my girlfriend at ease. They also seemed to have an excellent range of drinks. We have lived close by for years and this is our first visit. Dinner with friends. What a lovely pub! Very pleasantly surprised. Taken to a table tucked away in a corner, perfect for catching up with friends we haven’t seen for a while. The menu isn’t extensive but it is a good size, meaning that the chef can concentrate on presentation rather than having to contend with a multitude of dishes. I had the pork belly, it was perfectly presented and very tasty. Others at the table had the pie of the day, chicken and leek, and fish and chips. All good sized portions. Eton mess Sunday for my dessert and local ice cream for the others. Now that we have discovered this little gem so close to home we will be back.

Just called in on the spare of the moment, Monday night is burger night, amazing value, two well presented, well cooked burgers, each with a lovely basket of fries, served with a smile, garlic ciabata starter, washed down with a pint of Guinness (had to on Patrick's night) and a soft drink for the wife, all for under £40. We've eaten here 3 or 4 times and not been disappointed. Lovely friendly atmosphere and made to feel very welcome.
