My partner and I were staying nearby and had dinner her one evening. We were blown away. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was wonderful and the pub was quaint and pretty. We are so glad to have visited and will be back next time we are in the area.

Fantastic food, we were really impressed. It was so delicious, I had the beef blade and the jus in particular was incredible. Staff were so helpful and thoughtful catering for my allergies. Nice wee pub with good beer on tap and great friendly service. We are definitely going back.

Had a lovely lunch at The Yew Tree on Saturday, the pub was nestled in a fold of the Hampshire Countryside. The ambience was relaxed, attentive service and great food. The prawns had a lovely garlic butter sauce, I had the flaked shepards pie and my wife had the Fig and Goats cheese salad. All three courses were great and I had a pint of Hawkstone. We will be back! Best roast! I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Yew Tree in Aylesford, near Hampshire, and I must say, it was one of the best roast dinners I’ve ever had. This charming pub excels in every aspect, from the warm, welcoming atmosphere to the truly outstanding food. The highlight, of course, was the roast dinner. The variety of meats on offer—chicken, lamb, and beef—ensures there’s something for everyone. I chose the lamb, which was tender, perfectly cooked, and served in a generous portion, far exceeding my expectations. The inclusion of sprouts, often overlooked in many roasts, was a delightful touch and prepared to perfection. The free cauliflower cheese was the cherry on top, adding a creamy, cheesy element to the meal without an additional charge—a rare and appreciated bonus. What sets The Yew Tree apart is the excellent balance of quality and quantity. Each plate is hearty, satisfying, and made with evident care. The roast is paired with crispy roast potatoes, rich gravy, and fresh vegetables, completing the experience beautifully. Overall, The Yew Tree delivers a flawless roast dinner, earning a well-deserved 10 out of 10. If you’re in the area, this is a must-visit for any roast lover!

We love having lunch at The Pots. It's a lovely pub, and the addition of the barn, along with outside seating, gives plenty of tables. My husband loves the beer, anyway, which is very reasonably priced. Today, we both had the most fantastic chalk stream trout fishcakes as a starter. They were the best fishcakes I've ever tasted, and we had to pass on our compliments to the chef. My husband had the venison pie, which he said was delicious, especially with the port gravy. I had the maple and bbq brisket bap, which was also melt-in-the-mouth delicious, but after the 2 big fishcakes was way too much for me. 2 courses of delicious food for 2 people for £48, I'd say, was pretty good. Luckily, the 6+ mile walk home burned off some of the delicious food!

Called in here for lunch on a Friday expecting it to be relatively quiet, but how wrong we were. The staff were very attentive and served us at the bar and at the table very quickly, efficiently and nothing was too much trouble. They seemed to have a lot of staff working there which kept the food and drinks coming out quickly. We had the turkey sandwich which was really generous and great value at £8. The beer was exceptional and very good value, but not surprising as the brewery is across the car park. Highly recommended as a traditional pub with exceptional service, food and choice of home made beer.

We celebrated my father's 80th birthday here, 14 of us on a Sunday lunchtime. We were in a space all by ourselves. We all had roast dinners. They were delicious, plenty of food and the tastiest roast I have had in a long time. The staff were great. The pub was very busy as it was a beautiful day, but that did not affect the service. Really nicely done up bar and gardens, lovely staff, great tasting ales. The ales are actually brewed on site and very reasonable price. The food is good, the beef burger with bacon and cheese had good flavour. The plate could do with some salad. The falafel burger was meant to come with coleslaw, as you can see, wasn't served to us. Good flavour and nice burger. Didn't want to complain about the lack of coleslaw and shouldn't have to.

Absolutely love this independent cafe and Art gallery. The coffee is fab, the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and I always pop in when I am in Alresford.

Very welcoming staff, who were particularly great with our kids (5&8yrs). The food options were fabulous. All good, was delicious. Good selection of wines & beers. Board games available [Also, as we'd rung ahead to confirm, we were also able to stay overnight in our camper (big carpark & quiet throughout the night)]

Absolutely stunning makeover for a hidden gem! We are locals and visited a few years ago, and it was nothing compared to what it is now! The new huge expansion and development of a traditional country pub, but created for the modern demands of customer experience of great food and local produce, captured by natural beautiful surroundings is a 10 out 10! The staff were really knowledgeable and very helpful. The service was relaxed, and the new extension we sat in was really impressive, and the garden area was picture-perfect for anyone whether socially with family, or friends or romantically, this pub would suite anyone wanting to visit a real country pub tucked away off the beaten track. The menu offers up some mouth-watering delights, and they have specials every day and offer gluten-free options, which is clearly marked. The portions are very generous but plated up with care and foodie flare! We enjoyed every mouthful. It's dog friendly, with free ample parking, and I can imagine this pub will be a hot spot for locals and outside visitors for many years to come. Highly recommended!!! Come rain or shine. Popped in here after reading reviews and WOW it didn't disappoint..We asked the young lady serving us for her recommendations and she suggested the burger. I have to say, as a big burger fan, this was the nicest I have ever had. I want to drive the 40 odd miles it is from us just for the burger alone! Neither or my partner could finish it, it was SO filling. We were gutted to be full because it was so tasty. Next time we won't have starters so we can scoff the whole thing! Starters were amazing too. Overall a lovely place seeped with history. The thatched roof makes it so cosy as does the open fire. Definitely our fave pub meal and when we have some respite we'll be back! Definitely a place for a romantic meal so a respite visit only :)

The Townhouse Alresford is an absolutely stunning addition to the town! Not only is it beautiful (step through its doors and you’re completely transported ~ think a warm, welcoming luxury hotel vibe), the staff are so friendly and helpful. I’ve had brunch at The Townhouse twice now (and coffee to-go a handful of other times) and the food is delicious. Highly recommend starting your brunch with one of their home-cooked pastries, followed by a main dish. I’ve had both their full English and a bacon bap and would order both again in a heartbeat. I have yet to visit in the evening, but I’m excited to do so! The cocktails and evening menu look incredible. Overall, I cannot recommend visiting The Townhouse Alresford enough. It’s a real gem ~ in every which way! Led by the same team as one of my favourite local pubs (The Three Horseshoes) you’re guaranteed a blend of warm welcoming service, great food and a beautiful environment.

We absolutely loved our Sunday roast at the townhouse today. Food has been consistently delicious every time we’ve visited. And the Madelines, oh my goodness!! Yum. Food is made with love for sure! Service was 10/10. it’s such a calm welcoming environment, highly recommend :)

I had the most amazing trip to The town House. We have been for both Sunday lunch and supper last night. Both were amazing and I would go again rain or shine, night or day! 10/10 for food, drinks and service! I’m planning my next trip already!

Who knew?? The Town House provided the perfect end to an otherwise ordinary day. We were blown away by the delicious food, wine and wonderful service….all at a very reasonable price. If you’re in Alresford, you must go - it cheered me up no end!

Beautiful pub, stunning view and amazing food! Thanks so much to the chef for having so many gluten free options - I was absolutely beside myself to be able to have gluten free fish and chips! One of the best meals I have had in a very long time. The pub itself is beautiful, relaxing and elegant at the same time. Already planning a return trip in the summer where we can sit outside. Thanks to all the staff for a great meal and chilled afternoon.

Found the globe by chance by staying nearby but we did the food was amazing plenty of beers to choose from aswell service was friendly and quick the young girls made us feel welcome a proper family pub would recommend to anyone only negative is there's no car park but don't let that put you off.

This is a great pub to visit during the summer, when you can sit outside in the sun and enjoy the tranquility of the English countryside. The garden is pretty and nicely kept, and you can see the crystal clear river Itchen close by. Just beyond the pub garden is a really lovely walk over a bridge and along the river, where you can observe the beauty of nature. The staff here were helpful and accommodating. It's everything a country village pub should be.

Always go here for a local dog walk and then either beverages or a meal. It's always busy and always friendly. Good food and drink cozy atmosphere what more could you ask for with it's lovely surroundings.

I've been dropping into this pub on and off for many years. It is a historical place with lots of charm, in a beautiful setting in the Itchen valley. Needless to say it's a great place to end up after a walk. It's a cosy, welcoming place. The staff are lovely and helpful, and nothing seems too much trouble. The food is hearty and a good standard. The garden is lovely on a good day. It's well worth a visit, even if you just drop in for a drink. May it continue to be a joy for years to come!

Beautiful old style pub. Great food. Brilliant service. Stunning location. I took my mother here for lunch. She has many happy childhood memories of this pub when some of her family owned the pub (she’s 85 years old). Charlie served us and was super friendly. He was more than happy to listen to my mother tell him about the pub from years ago. It really made her day. THANK YOU CHARLIE. You are credit to the pub. Definitely recommend this place.

Great classic show today at The Hinton Arms: 1st September 24. Pub located on main road but nice and quiet/ cosy. Pub is a lovely country pub style, gorgeous flower displays. Very friendly staff. Highly Recommended. Food was amazing. Went there and ordered a burger with halloumi fries and I'm still talking about the size and quality of the food a year later. Atmosphere was amazing and the views and location are brilliant, Proper little country pub. Parking is plentiful and easy to get into and out of baring the road traffic. Loved my visit and cannot wait to return.

Could not fault our visit to the Hinton Arms today. All staff were very friendly, welcoming, attentive and professional. As for the food, there is a fantastic choice, every dish we saw coming out made our mouths water. We eventually settled for the venison rump and calves liver. Both dishes had very generous portions, and tasted fantastic, in fact the venison was the best I have tasted for quite a few years. Looking forward to going back and trying more dishes.

A great stay at this hotel , good was excellent and comparably priced, nothing too much to ask. Good choice for cooked good tasting good. Staff very helpful!

This restaurant is absolutely amazing! I have been there twice now with my family and I will definitely be coming back. The service is always impeccable and the waiters are very polite and attentive. Both the food and wine menus are brilliant and offer something for everyone at a fair price. The food itself is delicious and authentic Italian cuisine. I would happily try everything on the menu and I am certain that I will love it all.

Delicious, authentic Italian food with nice decor and friendly staff. The dishes taste fresh and there's a good range of dishes to choose from. The spinach and ricotta cannelloni is my particular highlight, their pizzas, risottos and seafood dishes are also excellent. I can also recommend the tiramisu or afogato for dessert. Lovely selection of wines and coffees too. Decent, reasonable prices. I've had a number of lovely meals here now and would recommend it to anyone. A real asset to the town.

Visiting the area today and found this fantastic place. We had not booked but they managed to accommodate our large family of 15. The food was all freshly cooked and tasted amazing. We had several family members with various allergies including dairy, gluten and nightshade and as everything was freshly prepared they were able to adjust most the dishes to suit. There truly was something for everyone. Highly recommend

This was our first visit to La Piccola - Italian Restaurant and we were delighted by the friendly staff, the atmosphere and the delicious food. The portions were generous and I’m looking forward to the leftovers. We will definitely be back.

This place is great! Very welcoming and comfortable. The little shop is a nice touch too. The drinks and food are very reasonable and extremely tasty too. And the staff are better!!

Fantastic place to hold a child's birthday party!! The soft play and toys are brilliant. They were set out clean and tidy. The food was lovely, the staff were super friendly and helpful!! Such a lovely spot for parents and young kiddies. Their soft play is so reasonably priced and ideal for kids to play while adults enjoy a coffee. The staff are super friendly and their sweet treats and savoury bakes are delicious too! Love meeting friends here with my little one.
