“I was recently working in Winchester and I noticed this place as I drove by. I was feeling rather peckish so I decided to stop and have a look. So glad I did. I don't normally eat Italian food but I absolutely love sea food so when I saw spaghetti with mussels, clams, shrimp and squid I couldn't resist. I also watched it being expertly prepped and cooked and it tasted sensational. I ate half of it in my van and the other half when I got home which was a 40 minute drive but it was still warm because it was in a foil tray with lid. I couldn't fault it at all, the price was very reasonable, the gentleman cooking was very welcoming and very polite. My only regret is that I don't live closer because I would be eating here all the time 100%. Thank you :)”

“Amazing breakfast at Josie’s in Winchester! The place is super popular, and we had to wait for a table, but it was absolutely worth it. The atmosphere was lively, the service was great, and the food was fantastic. I had the breakfast pancakes, and they were incredible! Everything about our visit was spot on—highly recommend if you’re in the area! 🥞☕”

“Visited today with with my husband and 4yr old for lunch. Had a warm welcome when we arrived and was explained how the menu worked. The restaurant was small but wasn't busy when we arrived shortly after they opened at around 12.15pm Monday. The waiter explained my son could play with all the toys in the window and action figures. He didn't peep over lunch and was very busy playing! We had a couple of games of Mario Kart which was fab too. Food arrived quickly and hot, nice pies, mash and gravy. All in all a great lunch. £12 for a meal which was prices right. Make sure you use the toilet as its an experience!”

“Throughly enjoyed my lunch here today. The food was very good(creamed spinach, mushrooms on sourdough) very good portion size! The scotch egg my partner had was enormous. Tad on the pricier side but the good sized portion made up for it.”

“Family evening meal Booked an earl table on Sunday. Expected to find the restaurant full. We were the only table booked for dining. Sadly less than six other people just in for drinks, and they did not stay for very long. Bonus for us, on this occasion it felt as though we had our own chef and waiters. The Food was excellent and we had very large portions. A few more customers would have greatly improved the atmosphere. First visit of 2024 Service and food as good as ever. Large portions well cooked and presented. Not as busy when we first arrived, but customers continued to arrive, during our dining. Bonus a pub or business where the toilets are spotless. A few more establishments are a long way from this standard Always a pleasure to return Another visit to the Otter. October. This time dining for nine people on a Sunday lunchtime. Quality of food and service still excellent, despite three large tables being served and a busy bar. Seven roast dinners six roast beef and one pork, very large portions, smaller portions can be requested.Best roast dinner to date in the Eastleigh area. One chicken in creamy chilli sauce and chips. One pizza and garlic bread off the children's menu. PREVIOUS VISIT Dining for four people on a Saturday evening. The staff were very attentive and provided excellent service. A very good menu with a number of very good choices, there was also a specials board to accompany the main menu. Wide choices of starters mains and desserts which should suit most people. Excellent meals served at a comfortable pace allowing us to thoroughly enjoy our dining. Wine list adequate and not too expensive.. Good selection of drinks from the bar Very busy at the time of our visit and would therefore recommending booking a table. One of the best pubs in the Eastleigh area for dining especially as this standard has been maintained. Outside seating area suitable for warmer times Large car park available.”

“Had a lovely meal at The Old Forge last night with family. Food was great all really well prepared and great flavours. We all a great time. Service was excellent from Rosie who was very kind and had a laugh with us. Starters was a 3 for £15 of small plates and a bread board. Beef croquettes wear super flavourful and the sweet potato hummus was amazing. Chicken burger in my picture was very juicy and the chili Jam and coleslaw inside tasted great. Trio of deserts was shared between three portions were bigger than we expected and was presented really well. It's on the more expensive side for a pub but food is definitely worth it.”
