This place was recommended to me by a friend. Easily the best food I’ve had on my trip to the UK. The location is convenient to Basingstoke, the atmosphere is as authentic Turkish as it gets. The owner is very friendly and accommodating. He made several recommendations and we couldn’t resist. The food is world class. The charcoal fired grill and classic Turkish decor add to the whole experience. I will definitely come back before I go home.

Delicious food - the halloumi kebab was a tasty vegetarian option and all the meat ones were fresh and really flavourful, with all the portions being very generous as well. The chips and dips on the house are fab as well, we had to ask for more tortilla chips. Friendly staff that went above and beyond to make our experience pleasant and made it a special moment when they kindly brought out the cake we'd gotten for the birthday celebration. We'll definitely be back!! Thanks so much 😊

Everything was amazing! The meats on the mixed grill was all super flavourful. The hummus kavurma and smoked salmon carpaccio is perfect for starters, not too heavy, not too overpowering. Tea was excellent! Baklava was the perfect sweet ending to the meal. Definitely worth a visit!

Visiting a friend in 'stoke and he recommended this place for a quick bite to eat before a concert. The decor is stripped back but the flavours are not. We both went for the Jollof rice, me with mutton stew, which was wonderfully spicy. We accompanied this with Nigerian Guinness (7.5%, be warned). We grabbed a bag of cinnamon puff puffs to go for dessert which were like donut holes. We left happily full. Hope to return and try some other items from the menu. Service was very friendly too. Recommended.

We do enjoy African food, and coming across this well-regarded cafe/ restaurant was a pleasant surprise. Our two boys loved the food despite initially saying it was too early to eat, plus they also originally wanted something else nearby! However, we were glad to have given Afrizi a try. We ordered Nigerian jollof rice/mutton stew and rice/ beans/chicken stew ‐ warms the soul on a chilly night, and this was definitely a treat today. Milk/fruit shakes are nicely done. 👌 The one thing is that we felt that the plantain for the fried plantain and plantain chips could have been riper, which would have made it slightly sweeter than it was. Other than that, the overall meal went down very quickly and without any complaints.

Very delicious!!! We ordered the jollof mutton with plantains and beans on the side. Also tried the puff puffs. I'll be back and/or order from here again when I'm in Basingstoke.

I come here every time I'm in Basingstoke. I wish it existed in my home town. The food is absolutely delicious. My personal favourite is the tofu stew with fried rice and fries plantains. The puff puffs are also a super yummy dessert option. I'm vegan and there's a bunch of options on the menu.

A great place to have a fabulous meal at a reasonable price. Excellent service and beautifully presented dishes cooked by students, it was one of the nicest meals I've had in a long time. Wine also very good value. Will definitely be going back!

This was our first visit after a friend recommended bcot to us. I was absolutely amazed at how lovely the food was. The service and how lovely the front of house team were. Delicious 3 course lunch today. Grouse to start, sole and black ink gnocchi followed by a boozy black cherry desert. Restaurant is inside a college building so whilst nicely fitted out its still in a college building. Service was very polite and friendly although we had one mishap when a glass of wine was delivered to the table and dropped. Fortunately I have dark clothes on and we were able to mop things up and move to another table. When we went to pay as we were leaving they advised the bill had been waved which was an unexpected gesture and well received. We will be back again - probably to try out one of the evening events.

Another lovely evening in this hidden gem, this time a wonderful 5 course Chinese New Year event. Fabulous food served by the students in the training restaurant at the college. Our waiter, Tim, was very attentive. The fire alarm in another part of the college had just gone off when we arrived so the students had to cope with getting everything back on track and did so very efficiently without any disruption to our evening. Well done!

An all round star of India! Heard about this place but it took me too long to try it! I'll be back. The menu is different from other curry houses - varied, clever and with loads of vegetarian options. The food is divine! Spiced for flavour, and served to look good. Even the rice comes in metal vases. Lovely staff too, and nicely decorated and clean restaurant. I had a coconut-based fish curry, which was very special, but the sides and breads are also delicious. Visited here on Monday for the first time as I was in the area of Basingstoke celebrating my wedding anniversary.. First impression.A*. Very clean and lovely decor. I'm vegan and the options were plentyful Staff was very welcoming and prices were great. The food was exceptional.. flavour,freshness, quantity and quality.. Absolutely enjoyed every bit of it. Had a bit of a wait but I was not fussed about it because good food with such standards takes time. You can tell a lot about food by the chef's passion. How it was prepared and presented. I would definitely recommend this place and hope to visit again if I'm in Basingstoke. Please please keep up the standards and service of your restaurant..it's very rare in these times. Absolutely great food and service..

First visit here after getting to know that they stand apart and been serving the best. !!Yes yes they are!! It was dinner meet with our office team thought to book this restaurant and they were simply great both food and Service. Special mention about the traditional rich Indian décor which dwells you back to the essence of Indian mood.. We shall visit them very soon.

Decided to try here due to reviews. I got the Chati Lamb prices at £16.50, rice and peshwari nan. I find the prices a little on the high side given the portion size served. The curry had a lot of spice, the lamb was soft with a couple of chewy parts but spice like a Madras. The rice was fine as you would expect. The Nan, was a bit flavourless actually, very small portion with not very much filling. Overall I would rate this visit 6/10.

Took the grandchildren out for a celebratory meal. The menu offers enough choice to suit most people. This evening we all enjoyed a well cooked and nicely presented meal. Our waitress Shannon had a lovely big smile and the service was excellent.

Beautiful location & building! Food was incredible although some of the sides were cooler than expected but still ok to eat. Had the most fabulous lunch for 7 at The Fur and Feathers. A surprise oasis of sublimely delicious food. Seasonal ingredients featured highly on the menu and all food was obviously home made from chutneys to puddings with a lot of effort put into every dish. Would recommend highly.

This is a great place to have an event or a large party. Proper family run venue with the wife running the kitchen and the husband running front of house with his daughter the food quality and decoration is unimaginable. The service is top notch. As a team they are always looking to help out every party member when assistance is needed. Good selection of drinks too. Lovely outside dining area with the option for outside catering as they have the facilities. Massive car park and a very quiet location close to the M3 just outside of Basingstoke. They really made me happy when I visited. Totally recommend this place.

Incredible Sunday Roast! Lovely pub with friendly and welcoming staff. The quality of the food was great and would highly recommend!

A pleasant evening with work colleagues. The staff were really attentive but not intrusive. We shared two of the mezze between the six of us. A good selection of typical Turkish fayre... The hummus and bread were particularly delicious. I had a mixed plate of various meat. All perfectly cooked and a good size portion. No-one had room for dessert... Maybe next time.

We ventured here yesterday for the first time and we where no disappointed. The service from the minute we walked in was friendly and comfortable. We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary and they even provided us with a dessert highlighting this, which was an absolute surprise to us both and so delicious. The food was delicious and the staff outstanding. We will definitely be back

One of the best, if not THE BEST place to eat at in Basingstoke. A superb nicely decorated venue with warm and welcoming, always smiling staff. The food was delicious and we will certainly return soon. Bonus points to Ellie for serving us and chatting to us.

The Olive House is a fantastic restaurant serving authentic and delicious Turkish cuisine in Basingstoke. The cozy ambiance and warm decor make you feel like you’ve been transported to Turkey, adding to the overall dining experience. The service was quick, friendly, and attentive. I ordered the köfte, which was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The lamb guvec was rich and flavorful, while the Adana kebab had just the right amount of spice. To finish, I had the baklava and a traditional Turkish coffee—both were an absolute treat! If you're looking for a great Turkish dining experience, The Olive House is definitely worth a visit!

Highly recommend the Sunday roast! Oh my goodness, they did not disappoint. The Staff are just lovely and so accommodating. Plus, they are Dog Friendly as have a special area for dogs to sit with their owners whilst eating in the restaurant. Thank you, team!

We had a Sunday lunch with friends, and it was a fantastic experience. The place, ambiance, service, and food were all excellent. There’s a great selection of dishes available on the full set menu, priced at £35 for a two-course meal and £39 for a three-course meal. On the downside, the vegetable roast was a bit overcooked. However, it’s still a great place to visit, and we would certainly return.

We had an enjoyable Sunday lunch breaking our journey home from a break in the New Forest. The service and the food were both top class and the menu had a good selection of dishes. The well maintained grounds and historic building matched both the food and service, making this venue a great place to visit and we would certainly return.

A stunning location set in beautiful gardens. The staff were excellent and the public areas are well maintained. I would have liked to see the rooms better kept, having said that they were still of a very good standard. The lighting was in the rooms wasn’t great however, and just some extra thought into finer details (welcome pack, chocolates, etc) would have been nice. The dinner however let the hotel down, we were there as corporate guests so that may have had an impact on the quality of our food but breakfast was really good, overall a very enjoyable visit.

Went yesterday for meal with husband, first time going there, but food was fantastic, service was brilliant, lovely young lady in charge was brilliant excellent in hospitality not rushed between courses. Great atmosphere, busy but not so noisy you can't hear your own conversation. Will go again highly recommend

It’s been already few times we came here. Last time I had the Fillet which was delicious. The service and the attention offered by a very nice waitress called Alexandra meant a lot for us. Thank you for everything, we’ll definitely be coming back.
