“We had a lovely evening at Lovage, had been recommended to go and are very glad we did The welcome, atmosphere and interior of the restaurant, all great The food was stunning, in looks and taste, a delicious, complimentary cheese filo tart started us off, all courses were memorable The wine list is a good size and starts off at less than £30,so decent value Was good to see the Maitre'd quietly training the young, efficient and friendly staff during service Have recommended and will return”

“Fantastic breakfast/ brunch. Extremely accommodating of food allergies. As standard the sausages are gluten free and the most fantastic gluten free bread. Portion sizes are quite unbelievable and brilliant value. Lovely coffee with the added touch of a mini mince pie on the run up to Christmas. Photo of the full English breakfast which my husband didn’t quite manage to complete!”

“Didn’t stay but ate for my birthday lunch. Made to feel very welcome and loved every minute. Great service from Otto. Thanks so much to the team for making me feel special! The food was sublime and the star of the show was the cod main course with saffron sauce. Otto added he brought the saffron from Morocco himself which was a lovely touch. Will be back and will recommend. Francesca x”

“We thoroughly enjoyed our recent weekend stay, for our special occasion. The staff were extremely welcoming, friendly, attentive and helpful. Our luxurious room was beautifully decorated and the bed very comfortable. All of our meals were delicious, and we were very impressed with the extensive wine list. Our whole experience was delightful, no doubt due to the great attention to detail that everyone has here. The fabulous grounds and gardens add to the serenity of this beautiful place. We are so glad that we chose Fischers and hope to return..... This is a truly special place ❤️”

“I visited Hathersage Kitchen for the first time yesterday and enjoyed the experience. My friend and I walked in for lunch, without booking, and were greeted by attentive servers and a relaxed atmosphere. Between us, we had waffles with bacon and maple syrup, fisherman's pie, and a piece of rocky road. The main dishes were attractively presented, well-flavoured, and offered good value for money. The rocky road we shared was, we felt, a little heavy on marshmallows and a little light on biscuit, but provided an appreciably sweet to end to the meal nonetheless. I recommend checking out Hathersage Kitchen if you're in the area, particularly if the weather is agreeable enough to favour outdoor dining - the garden is a delightful setting, with birds and butterflies making an appearance during our visit.”

“Lovely! Went for our annual Birthday taster menu and it was great as always. Got to try a few things we'd never had before. A few items were quite salty which was such a shame but the puddings as always were th best part!”

“We ate here tonight, when they say “proper pie” that’s exactly what they mean. The food was delicious, the pie (pastry top and bottom) was jam packed full of meat. The slice of pie was huge. The landlord and his team were on the ball and chatty, funny and honest. Defo worth a visit.”

“We arrived in the evening and where greeted warmly and shown round. The campsite is a simple campsite in a beautiful setting. It has a washing up sink with drinking water in the field, There is a toilet and shower attached to the restaurant. It is within easy walking distance of Eyam. We arrived about 7.00pm and Stella kindly waited till we put up our tent and sorted our selves out then she put our take aways in the oven to make them piping hot for us. The food was also very nice. A lovely place run by lovely people”

“My 4th visit here and I was a little disappointed. The canapés and amuse bouche were a little bit tasteless. The main course was very very salty. I ordered the hake because the last time I came I had lamb and couldn’t cut through the tough sinews (even with the serrated knife supplied). The hake was cooked well but everything else around it was just so so salty. I had panna cotta for desert which was cooked to perfection, creamy, smooth and with a slight wobble. It was drowned out by a very tart tasting kind of blackcurrant jam, very overpowering. There were piped dots of a kind of cream and then pistachios over the top. It was all too much and spoiled the beauty of the panna cotta. I am an enthusiastic cook at home and the taste of the food when I’m dining out matters. The service I couldn’t fault and the place was spotless with a classy feel to it. The food for me though is the most important thing of all and it’s this that let the place down.”
