We are not from the area but my partner took me here to celebrate my birthday. I wish I could give this place 10 stars. From the minute we walked in, we were greeted with amazing smiles and good energy from the staff. The place was absolutely beautiful!! The service was amazing and the attention to detail was immaculate, the staff were just amazing. The food!! Omg the food, from starters all the way to the desserts was just unbelievable. The quality of food was so good, I couldn’t believe it. My partner and I were very very impressed. We had an amazing night and will be definitely returning here in the future. It an experience anyone should experience to truly understand the high level of service and food they provide. They also had an amazing selection of wine, we were spoilt for choice. I 100% recommend this place.

Good food, came for a birthday treat. Quite formal, my only quibble is the seating for 2 were very close, so felt like you were looking closely at someone's dinner. All friendly though, so not too awkward.

Fabulous place to dine. Very friendly and attentive staff. All of the dishes we had were cooked to perfection with stunning presentation. Also well priced for the quality. Will definitely be visiting Piedaniel's again in the future.

We were served by a young lady and the owner Christiana,the service was excellent,we chatted to Christiana as we have been before. The food was unbelievable,the service was excellent. We are definitely going to visit Pie Daniels again

What a gem. I booked 3 weeks ago following a recommendation from ChatGPT. 5 days in the Peak District over half term with my daughter and this place wins hands down. Food fantastic and great June menu, we had the crab, and mackerel to start. My 12 yo daughter loved the soft shelled crab and was amazed at how it was presented. Followed by the loin and the pork belly. Wonderful. And to top it off a pint of Green Mountain for £4.80! Yes £4.80, under fiver. Can’t recommend this lovely traditional pub any more. A Cracking Night at The Packhorse! We recently visited The Packhorse, a charming little pub nestled in the heart of the Peak District, and what a fantastic experience it was! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was buzzing – loads of people, lively chat, and a super friendly vibe that made us feel right at home. Our group of ten had an absolutely brilliant evening, largely thanks to our incredible servers, Holly and Grace. They were genuinely outstanding! We had loads of questions about the menu and the area, and they couldn't have been more helpful. Their enthusiasm was infectious, and they truly went the extra mile to ensure we had an excellent night. Nothing was too much trouble, and they were more than happy to adapt dishes to suit individual preferences within our large group. And the food? Superb! Every single one of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The quality was top-notch, and the flexibility with dish edits was a real bonus. The Packhorse truly delivers on all fronts – great food, wonderful atmosphere, and exceptional service. We're already planning our next trip back! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a brilliant pub experience in the Peak District.

A real gem. Good beer, great food - lots of choice. Excellent service. On the Saturday evening we visited, the pub was really busy with all tables booked and the bar full. The staff still had time for everyone, were friendly and helpful and completely unflustered. Special mention for Holly and Phoebe for great service! We will definitely be back.

Tucked away in a beautiful area, lovely food and great service. I can imagine it particularly appealing and cosy in a Winter evening with the log fire on. I'll be coming back. 🙂

The best eating experience. The food was incredible from start to finish. Wine list is was outstanding. Staff were absolutely amazing. We ate everything and did not want to leave. Absolutely joyous. Highly, highly recommended. The most enjoyable food experience we've had a long time. Thank you so much. You made our joint celebration so special.

We were looking for a fine dining place to eat while in Bakewell and Lovage by Lee Smith did not disappoint. We went for the three courses for £45, however, note that does not include sides which is £5 each (and necessary if you don't just want to eat just meat!) That was my only gripe. We were served by Jonathan who was professional, hospitable and very knowledgeable about the dishes. The meal started with a delicious croustard and warm sourdough bread. I enjoyed every course. As an avid watcher of Great British Menu and the mouthwatering food that is served, I was pleased, and not surprised to hear that Chef Lee Smith was on this show. Delicious food, reasonable priced and I was full at the end.

We had a lovely evening at Lovage, had been recommended to go and are very glad we did The welcome, atmosphere and interior of the restaurant, all great The food was stunning, in looks and taste, a delicious, complimentary cheese filo tart started us off, all courses were memorable The wine list is a good size and starts off at less than £30,so decent value Was good to see the Maitre'd quietly training the young, efficient and friendly staff during service Have recommended and will return

Went for lunch with a friend and expected something special- I wasn’t disappointed. Steak tartar and the steak were wonderful- very tender. My friend had asparagus and then hake. Possibly best food I’ve had for years and very nice service. Hugely recommend

One of the best coffee shops I have ever been to. And I have been to many! Great coffee, bought some beans. Food was excellent. Had the light Full English, great sausage. And atmosphere on a Saturday morning was friendly and chilled. Unfortunately it’s 1.5 hours away so not able to frequent. But if you are in the Peak District this is the place to head.

A gem and wonderful addition to this lovely community. We stayed in Youlgrave for a vacation and went to this lovely cafe a few times. The rolls are delicious, the pizza is genuinely some of the best I ever had and their full veggie english was delicious as well. Only advice: bring some time, the kitchen isn't big (not a bother to me personally to wait for a spell) and layer up, as the inside can get quite warm when it's full. Hopefully this wonderful establishment will stay around and one day invest in some better knives ;)

Fab little cafe in the village, nice coffee and small menu. *Celiacs - good to know: As they are a bakery, they don't have GF cakes, and even though GF bread is listed as an alternative on the menu they don't always keep it in. Recommend Peak Feast instead.

First time here and a really positive experience. I reserved 2 tables as there was around 15 people in our group. Food was great, decor was lovely and service was good too. Will definitely be back!

We ate in the restaurant, enjoying the 6 course menu. The restaurant is setup such that even when full each table still feels private. Service was unobtrusive but warm and professional. Food was excellent- fresh ingredients, good use of taste, colour and texture. A great meal, if slightly on the expensive side.

We stayed one night and we had dinner on site. This is a beautiful house in a very delicate English garden. From the moment we arrived, the staff looked after us, made us feel welcome and very special. We had an exceptional dinner with a 6 courses menu served at perfect temperature and with paired wines, recommended by the sommelier. The breakfast was also a beautiful experience in the exquisitely decorated dining area. 2 comments for this place to be really heaven on earth: . Sleep: the mattress was very very soft to a point we did not sleep well at all. It felt like we were sleeping on a waterbed, which is very uncomfortable especially after dinner. . The selection of champagne is very good, however £25/£30+ a glass plays the magic of the place down.

The setting itself, elegant and tranquil, complemented the whole experience perfectly. It’s clear why Fischer’s holds its Michelin Plate status—it’s a place where fine dining meets heartfelt hospitality. We’ll absolutely be returning and recommending it to anyone looking for a truly memorable culinary experience.

Visited Fischer's at Baslow Hall for an early valentine's dinner with my partner. Neil and the serving staff were great and very friendly. The service never felt rushed and we had a drink in the bar area before being shown to our table. My partner and I have eaten at a fair few fine dining/Michelin restaurants over the years but this was the first time we've booked the Kitchen Bench experience. Ant and his kitchen staff were all very professional and relaxed and were happy to chat, have a laugh and answer any questions we had. They explained the dishes and the processes behind them and it was interesting to see the dishes being assembled and 'coming to live' on the pass. We enjoyed a 9 course tasting menu with some of the highlights being the fish course (especially the Bouillabaisse which it was served with), the Mushroom Pithivier and Egg Custard Tart! We were both very pleased with the whole experience and would thoroughly recommend it. Thanks for a great evening!

What a gem of a place. The portions are enormous and the food is fantastic. My husband, daughter and I visited for Sunday lunch and would definitely recommend it. The café has introduced a range of COVID-19 protection measures including the usual party registration on arrival and all staff were wearing PPE. The carvery area is screened off behind perspex. One table is called up at a time to keep everyone distanced and you can choose what you want to eat from the wide carvery options available (food is plated by the staff). The puddings were as delicious as the roast dinner. The carvery is £8 for adults with reduced prices for OAPs and children. The whole meal including puddings and soft drinks cost us £33. Unbelievable value!

An amazing carvery, Martin and his team so friendly, we hadn’t booked turned up and just had to wait for a table but we’ll worth the wait, I just can’t recommend this enough one the best carvery we have had excellent value for money.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE! The food is incredible, proper homemade food! Best Sunday dinners we have had in a long time. The puddings are delicious! Price for dinner & pudding is excellent value. Came here for dinner tonight with our family and it was perfect! Our host was really friendly and funny, and he was really attentive to us. He recommended dishes and was polite and genuine when talking to us. The food was spot on; we had a real variety of main courses (linguine, soup, pork, salmon, Korean chicken) and 4 desserts between us. Atmosphere in the restaurant was very relaxed, and the decor was great. It was such a good evening. Would definitely recommend to everyone!

Delicious risotto and beautiful setting. Excellent service. Food could just have been a bit hotter with fresh black pepper. Tables inside looked very comfortable. Good range of cocktails.

The main course and flatbread was really good but the soup could have been a bit better. Adele , our host is a gem. One of the best and friendly host I came across after a long time. She deserves a 5* rating and hence we gave a decent tip as well. It was busy on a Sunday evening and quite lively.

A fantastic place next to the river and pay and display car parks. Lots of seating inside and some tables outside. But I recommend you book as it was very busy, on a Saturday evening, we just managed to book a table in the dog friendly part at 8pm, that's booking the 2 days prior. Great food, very large portions. I had asparagus & pea risotto with coats cheese and it was delicious. My partner had vegan sausage and mash with vegan gravy and loved it. Definitely worth a visit. Next time we'll try the pizza's and a dessert.

Absolutely cannot fault this place. Gorgeous vibe and decor, friendly and welcoming staff team, and a brilliant menu. Very veggie/vegan friendly and a wide range of specialty drinks as well. I found it hard to choose a brunch dish as everyone sounded delicious. Everything is beautifully presented with generous portions. I would recommend you sit in the corner of the large window so you can enjoy the views into Bakewell while you sip your chai!

Stumbled upon this unique and quirky little cafe with absolute 10/10 food and drinks! They offer such a wide variety of choices and if I’m honest, we couldn’t decide at first as it all look banging!! In the end we went for: - Iced Matcha & Rose Latte - Hot Matcha & Rose Latte (not on menu, just ask them) - Mango Chutney & Chicken Salad Bagel - Open Smoked Salmon, Chilli Honey & Avocado - Bombay Nachos Highly Recommend coming to this place and just browse the menu! 👏 fire

Had a lovely breakfast at Chakra lounge (Tadka beans on toast and the white chocolate and strawberry waffles with smoothie and masala chai). Food was absolutely beautiful, atmosphere great and staff could not be more polite and helpful. Will definitely return!

A lovely cosy cafe serving delicious food with Indian touch to it. The cafe has a warm vibe with friendly staff. There are variety of boards games available too to enjoy with friends/family. Their Punjabi Chilly Cheese toast, Chicken Cheese Panini, Amritsar Chicken Curry, Bombay nachos are a must try.

Had our wedding meal here on Saturday and Louise and the team went above and beyond ! As a new restaurant and being out of the country when organising I couldn’t have asked for more and instantly trusted Louise who was enthusiastic and completely understood what we wanted ! Excellent small hotel, with stunning views and great walks from the door. Friendly staff and good pub food. Sit outside on a sunny afternoon, with a pint, and just look at the view. It's all about the location.
