“Dinner Managed to get a last-minute table for dinner. It's so popular and booked up way in advance. Don't know why we are telling people about here as it's hard enough to get in as it is. It would be easier to get a booking at a three ⭐️⭐️⭐️Michelin restaurant. Here's why it's so popular. Chef/ Owner George Bloor was named Best Chef in Derbyshire at the young age of 21. Now, having over ten years of experience cooking in Michelin, awarded kitchens around the country. Set up his first solo venture last year. This was our second visit, and it was just as good as the first time. From start to finish, the dishes were beautifully presented with a little bit of theatre too. The staff are young and well versed on the dishes they serve to the table. It's an absolutely stunning menu that changes with the seasons.”

“What an amazing find! We absolutely loved our evening there. A lovely entrance and walk to the pub area. We were greeted by friendly staff who showed us to our table. There was 8 of us and we had a round picnic table with 4 bench seats. Sam was our waiter and was brilliant. Very attentive with great sense of humour! The food was beautiful and plenty of it (we ordered way too many sides to share!!) Drinks were very reasonably priced, bottle of Pinot Grigio blush was £18. There were 2 brilliant singers on the stage singing Xmas songs in the background which was perfect! Thank you for a lovely evening pub in the woods, see you next year!”

“The Lighthouse's Summer 24' menu is extraordinary . We thoroughly enjoyed all dishes which went very well with the drinks pairing. Every dish, from the Japanese Milk Bread with butter to the Orkney Scallop with massaman and chili lime cashews, was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. Overall, the Summer menu at The Lighthouse is a testament to their culinary excellence and I'm looking forward to returning again soon.”

“Wow what a lovely pub we stumbled across after crossing the river via the local stepping stones far in the valley below. Back up the hill a five minute drive away. Excellent food (probably the best steak sandwich I’ve ever had and the beef is local), superb real ale, two real fires and very friendly service. If only I was a local! Highly recommend, well done guys.”

“New Head Chef and new menus. We booked for his second evening service. It's a set menu of 2 course £38 or 3 course £45. With lovely homemade bread and butter to start. For starters we chose the Chicken Terrine and Joe's hand dived scallops which were absolutely delishes. Mains were Cornish Cod,Brassicas,Chard,Smoked Roe. Beef loin & cheek, Celeriac, White onion. A dessert of Chocolate ,70% Valrhona Chocolate, Espresso, Clotted Cream. And a delightlighfully large plate of cheeses. The menu will change depending on what fresh local produce is delivered. The food was perfectly executed, as expected from a young talented chef such as Adam.It was great to meet him again and to see him back in action. Staff were pleasant and professional. The pub is part of Berkeley Inns, which is a small pub group with some other great venues. They are clearly aiming high with this new head chef appointment for their casual fine dining. We'll look forward to see how they develop and the word gets out. Future awards and accolades are on the horizon for sure.”
