“One of my favourite tasting menu experiences. The food was fun ! All perfectly cooked with ideal portion sizes. Loved our Christmas themed meal, the atmosphere and service was spot on. Staff were friendly and helpful without being over bearing. We liked small touches like a copy of the menu left on the table. Would 100% recommend even if your not totally into tasting menus you'll love this place !”

I run out of superlatives for this place! It is exceptional. This menu yet again delivered exquisite food, beautifully served in perfect low-key and friendly surroundings. Every time we come we say it’s the best ever and indeed it was said again last night! This Chef is unbelievably good. We will return!

First of all, The Service 3 waitress probably the best service I’ve had in 18 months. Greeting at the door, Happy faces and really attentive. 10/10 for that as it’s not always easy to get people in a rural setting that are as subscribed as the staff here. Secondly the food. 10 course menu all perfectly sized and beautiful complex flavours. Could not complain about any of the dishes but the desserts were the stand out courses for all four of us. Followed by Really Really Good Coffee. Just over £300 for 4 people. One glass of wine and 6/8 soft drinks, Well worth it. The decor is fine but some better surroundings would better suit this level of catering and service, but to be fair they have only been at it 8 months at this location and you can’t get a table for 3 months so the beginning of successful future I think… Will be back

Dinner The Tasting Club By George Bloor We've been trying to get in here since they opened in April this year. It would be easier to win the lottery. We thought we had won when we managed to get a last minute table. Here's why its so popular. Chef/ Owner George Bloor was named Best Chef in Derbyshire at the young age of 21. Now having over ten years of experience cooking in Michelin awarded kitchens around the country, he left his post at previous “Derbyshire Restaurant of the Year” The Lighthouse Restaurant, to set up his first solo venture. The Tasting Club Snacks 1 crispy pork belly + stuffing nugget with cranberry gel 2 roast turkey soup/ crispy skin/ crunchy sprouts/ bacon & chestnut 3 Smoking cauliflower cheese & English truffle tart 4 Not another prawn cocktail N’duja glazed BBQ Argentinian Red Shrimp lettuce/ chorizo/ Marie Rose / preseved lemon/ pil-pil croutons 5 Wild Row Deer Lasange 24 hour sticky râgú with tomato roasted squash + creamy herb bechamel textures of Parmesan 6 Coal for Christmas Derbyshire aged beef fillet in charcoal crispy onions + baby leeks bone sauce with chive oil 7 Gingerbread man milk chocolate parfait/ eggnog mousse/ hazelnut ice cream/ honeycomb 8+9 Look it's snowing coconut ~ passion ~ cheesecake ~ blood orange From start to finish the dishes were beautifully presented and the taste sensations just kept on getting better as each course was served. The succulent Prawns in the starter😋 And the lasagne, dare we say "the best we have ever had". The staff are young and well versed on the dishes they serve to the table. An absolutely stunning menu which changes with the seasons. As good as any Michelin starred restaurant we have been to, if not better. Another visit just as good👍

Dinner Managed to get a last-minute table for dinner. It's so popular and booked up way in advance. Don't know why we are telling people about here as it's hard enough to get in as it is. It would be easier to get a booking at a three ⭐️⭐️⭐️Michelin restaurant. Here's why it's so popular. Chef/ Owner George Bloor was named Best Chef in Derbyshire at the young age of 21. Now, having over ten years of experience cooking in Michelin, awarded kitchens around the country. Set up his first solo venture last year. This was our second visit, and it was just as good as the first time. From start to finish, the dishes were beautifully presented with a little bit of theatre too. The staff are young and well versed on the dishes they serve to the table. It's an absolutely stunning menu that changes with the seasons.

“My partner and I had a wonderful experience here last night celebrating a belated anniversary. The food was incredible - our particular favourites were the 4 courses to start and the two desserts, but we weren’t disappointed with even one dish. The service was another highlight, everyone was very attentive and polite, however one of the service staff in particular (I apologise for not remembering her name!) went above and beyond with her drink recommendations, her attitude and conversation, answering any questions we had, and thoroughly helped elevate our experience even more! I cannot wait to come back again to try their different seasonal menus, this has been a real find and I really hope they get their Michelin star soon as they really deserve it. Thank you for such a wonderful and memorable evening!”

“Myself and my new Husband had our wedding at Yeldersley Hall earlier this month. Andrew really made us feel so welcome, from our first viewing all the way through to his calming and cheerful influence on the wedding day. We were lucky enough to have a day of great weather, and the grounds were at their most beautiful - perfect for our guests to explore, and to make use of the lawn games. Having on-site accommodation for family was also so helpful, we loved our whole weekend at Yeldersley. Myself and a couple of guests also visited Nadiia for a wedding manicure on the friday, which was a lovely pamper before the big day. I would definitely recommend her gel nails, they have lasted perfectly!”

“This place is a little gem. Booked short notice for an evening meal (20:45) and they were able to fit us in. The staff were very friendly and clearly appreciated regulars as well as new guests, the venue is clean, tidy and well decorated. The menu had some great dishes with unique twists (I had the Pizza/chicken burger) such as the haggis and chips (cheese too). Desserts were outstanding also. Highly recommended.”

“Lunch We normally go to one of their other pubs nearby but that was taken over by a big concern. Since they took over the pub it has had extensive renovations including a beautiful outside beer garden and a lovely Orangery dining room. The menu has a diverse range of casual pub favourites with seasonal menu updates. For starters we chose King Prawn Cocktail - £10 Smoked Salmon Mousse, Toasted Sourdough. Not the usual way of serving as it was all served on a plate. BBQ Cajun Pork Belly Bites £9 Pineapple & Chilli Salsa. What made this dish was the delious sauce on the pork belly. Both dishes were topped with the dreaded pea shoots. Which adds nothing to the taste and is just decoration. Main courses were Steak Frites - £17 6oz Top Rump with Fries & Peppercorn Sauce. A pub classic which was very nice. Oh and topped off with pea shoots🤣 Can't remember ordering salad? Baked Salmon Fillet - £20.90 On a bed of creamy spinach & Smoked Salmon Spaghetti, Fresh dill. Oh,you guessed it pea shoots. The salmon was cooked perfect and the sauce with the pasta was delicious. The food was pleasant enough but nothing to write home about and yet here we are.🤣 With such a large menu for the kitchen to cater for it has been said by others, can be a bit hit and miss on occasion. But our visit on a quiet lunchtime was pretty good. The pub is a lovely place to visit if you fancy a drink and maybe something to eat. They do fresh pizzas to order in a proper pizza oven. You can even dine in their outside garden rooms when the weather is fine. The staff were friendly and very accomodating.”

“We went today for a girlie lunch which I have been for food and drinks many times and I can say that we received great food and the service was spot on. Hannah T met us and asked if we would like drinks first which we did, then she showed us to our table. Without having to ask she brought us a bottle of water and poured it out. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble and the standard of service that we received was exceptional. It’s good to see that the service has in my opinion improved greatly. Thanks as always and of course we will be back.”
