What a fabulous wedding location. Stunning day made much easier by Andrew and his team. Chef produced superb food. The marquee was a great space, tables all laid out ready for us ready for the finishing touches. The apartments were great spaces with very comfortable beds. Highly recommend.

Myself and my new Husband had our wedding at Yeldersley Hall earlier this month. Andrew really made us feel so welcome, from our first viewing all the way through to his calming and cheerful influence on the wedding day. We were lucky enough to have a day of great weather, and the grounds were at their most beautiful - perfect for our guests to explore, and to make use of the lawn games. Having on-site accommodation for family was also so helpful, we loved our whole weekend at Yeldersley. Myself and a couple of guests also visited Nadiia for a wedding manicure on the friday, which was a lovely pamper before the big day. I would definitely recommend her gel nails, they have lasted perfectly!

My new wife and I had such a fabulous day celebrating our wedding at Yeldersley Hall. It was such a beautiful wedding venue and the day ran very smoothly. A special mention to Chris the chef and his team who produced amazing food and for being so accommodating with our requests.

I had one of the best days of my life at this wonderful, magical place that is Yeldersley Hall. From the moment we came down the driveway back in March 23 I had a really good feeling about the place. Then upon meeting Andrew (owner) that sealed it for me. He made us feel like Yeldersley was our home. And that feeling was all across our wedding weekend in July this year. It felt like home, like family. I can’t thank Andrew and all the team at Yeldersley enough for making it as close to perfect as I think anyone could get. All our family and friends enjoyed the venue and the beautiful gardens and grounds. Everyone had an amazing time and as a couple we loved every moment of it. Where to start 🤩 I saw this place on Tiktok and thought it'd be a great date night for me and my wife. I was wary it wouldn't be as good as social media made it seem BUT it was absolutely AMAZING!! 🙌🏻💕 The whole night was super super organised! You truly can just have the best night as the servers constantly make sure you're okay and they bring food and drinks to you. The 2 live singers were so good! The atmosphere was lovely 🥰 The servers were so kind too, offered to take a photo for us, wrapped our drink so we could take it back as we were a little drunk we couldn't finish it 🤣 The toilets were clean and love the fact there was hand towel to use. I cant wait to come back here next year 😍 Thank you!!

A must visit! We booked a fire pit table and food. The staff were attentive without being overbearing. They spoke to us like old friends and made sure we were never left waiting for drinks if we wanted them. They regularly topped up the fire and asked if we were comfortable. We absolutely loved this place.

Amazing! Food was delicious and a really fun evening! Plenty of vegetarian options which was appreciated and a large drinks menu.

My partner and I had a wonderful experience here last night celebrating a belated anniversary. The food was incredible - our particular favourites were the 4 courses to start and the two desserts, but we weren’t disappointed with even one dish. The service was another highlight, everyone was very attentive and polite, however one of the service staff in particular (I apologise for not remembering her name!) went above and beyond with her drink recommendations, her attitude and conversation, answering any questions we had, and thoroughly helped elevate our experience even more! I cannot wait to come back again to try their different seasonal menus, this has been a real find and I really hope they get their Michelin star soon as they really deserve it. Had an excellent meal last night, staff were attentive but not intrusive. Drinks are fairly priced and they have a selection of local ales. Food from the grazing menu was excellent on every front. The notables were the cote du boef which was well worth the £40 charged and the blue Monday dessert which is blue cheese and a honey & ginger pastry. Spent £200 on a meal for two, so not an every week establishment but great for a treat. Definitely would come again as menu changes regularly.

Our second time here, first time trying the grazing menu. Food was absolutely outstanding. Louis made our experience special and memorable. Sam and Sadie were very efficient too. Totally recommended. Big thank you for our Instagram competition prize.

Stopped here for lunch today. Easy parking. Very welcoming young woman behind the bar told us fine to bring in the dog and gave us a table near the fire. I had a braised beef balti (£14.95 ) which was very pleasant and more than I could eat. My wife had a ‘small’ lasagne which was quite a good size, which she enjoyed (£8.95). Good inexpensive pub food. Excellent and fast service to table. Very decent coffee to follow. Really good clean loos as well. When we left we took a short walk along the river from the car park. All good. Recommended!

Went for Boxing Day carvery and it was amazing! The dining room looked gorgeous and had a beautiful big tree. The food was so delicious and the staff were all very friendly and attentive. We had never been out for a Boxing Day dinner before and we are so glad we picked the Oak. Cannot fault and will definitely be booking up for next year. Thankyou to all the staff for working on Boxing Day and making it fantastic for everyone who went there.

me and my boyfriend just finished a 12k hike and wanted a bite to eat and a pint, the Sunday roast was to die for! The service was quick but everything was homemade and amazing, definitely worth it!

Went there for a meal as I was on a way back home. Me and my 2 best friends wore just so amazed by food. Just so good and a huge portions absolutely loved the place. Friendly and nice staff 👍

Called in here about 7pm for a pint and assess menu for future possible dining. Menus attached … choose for yourself. Getting quite busy so suggest booking a table in advance if you want to dine. Looks like small bar area with a couple of tables, a separate ‘side’ room with about 5 tables and another area with about 8 rooms. Looking at meals for others that came out seems good food/hot and tasty if menu suites.

The best pub food we have had in a very long time. Ordered Lamb casserole with herby dumpling and Duck with black pudding. Sides of mash, broccoli, carrot and red cabbage. All cooked to perfection and so tasty. Lemon cheesecake to share was also amazing. A solid 10/10. Shame we don't live closer!

Lovely warm welcome, excellent friendly service and delicious food. The chicken breast stuffed with haggis and whiskey cream sauce was absolutely brilliant. We loved it so much they brought out another jug of sauce for us to pour over the mash. Everything we ate was top quality and worth every penny. Can't wait to return.

A charmingly cosy pub but with a nice modern feel. We didn’t book and chanced it with our dog on a busy Saturday. We sat at a small bar area table but it got a bit crowded and the attentive staff member spotted this and was very accommodating to move us to a better table. Steak and ale pie came out very fast and was delicious. A lovely lively place for food and drinks!

Absolutely loved our meal here, we stopped in for lunch after a long rainy walk, greeted with a lit fire and cosy surroundings. The food was scrumptious, and I only wish our visit was longer as we were tempted by so many of the dishes! The staff were wonderful and so friendly. I would highly recommend The Old Dog and would happily visit again in future!

Popped in for lunch after a long roundabout walk to the stepping stones, lovely friendly staff. Good drinks menu and had a fantastic lunch menu. Dog and kid friendly. Glad we booked as it was busy and buzzy. We’ll be back in the winter to sit by the open fire and try the winter dishes

Absolutely fantastic meal, we booked for Burns night and it exceeded our expectations! The service was brilliant from the moment we walked in, the team couldn't have been more helpful and genuine. The food was outstanding, presented perfectly and the starter that came with a treacle bread roll was perfect! Having the haggis paraded in with bagpipes was the perfect addition to the evening. It was a really great atmosphere and we will absolutely be going again soon. Couldn't fault a thing!

My boyfriend brought me here for the Valentines Day Set Menu tonight and I cannot fault our experience at all. The food was perfect, amazing service and an amazing vibe to the restaurant. Very chilled atmosphere. The set menu was £45 for three courses, sometimes you can go for a meal and feel the food standard was not worth the price, but this was definitely not the case tonight. Definitely returning!

Visited Wednesday 19th July 2023, early evening. Easily one of the best restaurants in the area and one of the best I've eaten at in a long time. Food quality is outstanding, the menu is seasonal; however, there's a sample menu online to get an idea of what's on offer, there's also two options, an a la carte and a fixed price. Vegetarian, vegan and dietary requirements can be catered for. Whilst the food is definitely upper tier the prices are not much more than most other restaurants and represents excellent value for money. The place itself is based around an old country pub with an excellent garden outside providing dining outdoors, they also have a number of cabanas with heating. Service is outstanding; however, it's an informal place so whilst everyone is polite and professional it's also relaxed. Well worth visiting.

Out for a meal with 2 friends . There should have been 4 of us : he defo missed out. Lovely setting , good food and lovely waitresses . The menu changes every month… so photos are from the August 22 menu . Bit of a treck for us to go from Stoke but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend ( already have actually)

Still going, again and again, as promised; this remains the stand-out best place to eat (IMHO) in Ashbourne! Excellent; no other word for it! Despite living locally for some time, we have never dined here - regretting that now!! One of the best dinning experiences for some considerable time. The interior looks fresh and modern; the staff are utterly professional in everything they do (well trained / very experienced); the food is exceptional in flavour, presentation, and is delivered on hot plates; finally, the menu is seasonal, so expect the dishes to change - Spring, Summer, and Autumn. As I always say: get yourself along, whether local or just passing through … I know we’ll be going again, and again! 😉

On entering the historic building, sympathetically brought up to date, we were met with a warm welcome and shown to a table. The autumn menu seemed to cater for all tastes, with a particularly interesting selection of starters, some traditional, some more " in vogue". The mains included options for those with dietary needs, along with fairly traditional dishes given an exciting interpretation. Personally, I'd not normally pick chicken on a menu as it's too everyday, but I opted for the chicken kyiv with the chef's magic touch and was suitably impressed. Desserts were equally imaginative and I felt compelled to try one, despite the generous portions already consumed. The wine list again catered for all tastes, with a good selection of " by the glass" possibilities. The staff were both friendly and efficient and the overall experience a delight.

Had a ‘galentines’ afternoon tea here. Food was lovely and included some homemade desserts. Staff friendly and attentive. Lovely country pub. Will return to sample main menu!

This place is a little gem. Booked short notice for an evening meal (20:45) and they were able to fit us in. The staff were very friendly and clearly appreciated regulars as well as new guests, the venue is clean, tidy and well decorated. The menu had some great dishes with unique twists (I had the Pizza/chicken burger) such as the haggis and chips (cheese too). Desserts were outstanding also. Highly recommended.

Went here for our anniversary meal out and it did not disappoint. From the minute we walked in the staff were absolutely outstanding and couldn't do enough for us. They were all extremely friendly, efficient and professional. We had a right laugh with them about something that would take too long to explain, they were brilliant. The food was also exceptional. We had the sticky beef to share to start with, then I had the steak and blue cheese pizza, the wife had the surf and turf pizza and I portion of scoop fries to share, it was all fantastic. Credit to the staff, chefs and management for running a fantastic pub / restaurant.

Best customer service in England so far, never seen such well-mannered young staff working in a restaurant. Staff knew the menu very well, and the suggestions were amazing. The food was delicious and fresh. Portions are quite big. We requested a small candle for a birthday, something that is not on the menu. The waitress came with the cake singing happy birthday. How nice and lovely! Thank you to the management for having such a lovely team and a great chef!
