“I’ve had dinner and done a cocktail and canapé class and I cannot rave about this place enough! Quirky setting, fabulous quality food and locally sourced drinks, wonderful host and generally all round great place to go for something a little more bespoke. Love the intention of this place and the thought behind it, if you can, go! You will fall in love with something if not everything about this place 🥰”

The Bulls Head Repton

“I recently visited on a Saturday lunch time. Book a table as it gets busy! I went for a wood fired pizza (half Iowa half vegas) 3 prawns is kinda tight for a pizza this size but never mind. The pizza was a little ‘overdone’ for me too unfortunately. The edges were really crispy but some people like it like that I guess. The pit burger was really good. The chips were chunky and delicious. The onion rings are MASSIVE and good value. You can order quickly on the app which is handy. Overall a good value for money tasty gastro pub. Parking is a problem. It’s no where near enough parking for the size of the restaurant. I saw a lady park and then cross the road to a hairdressers. Bulls head, maybe charge £5/10 for parking and take it off the bill to stop it being used for other local businesses? (If it’s solely a bulls head car park that is!?) I own these photos.”

The Boot Inn

“Been here a couple of times now and the food, service, and atmosphere have been excellent! Really impressive food for the price point - definitely higher end than your average gastropub. They can get quite busy at wkends but the service was just as friendly and professional as when we went mid week. Doggy friendly too which is always a plus 🐶 My only minor gripe was that the cheesecake was a bit of a miss - overly set and with a soggy bottom - but every other dish we've had there has been bang on. Will definitely be back!”

The Wheel Inn

“I visited The Wheel Inn recently, a wake was held there after a family funeral. I have to say how nice of a place it was, the staff were brilliant and the quality of the food was awesome. For such a small cost per head the quality, variety and amount of food provided was amazing. I highly recommend this public house for its nice friendly atmosphere, welcoming staff, a decent pint and lovely food.”

The Bulls Head

Phone: 01283 215299
“Lovely pub. Could do with some better outdoor furniture. Nicely furnished inside. Friendly and helpful staff. Food reasonable but wine overpriced for what it was. Staying over night the room was generous in size with a large TV. Plenty of tea and coffee and chilled water in bottles. The bathroom was well fitted out but take all your own toiletries as none were provided. Breakfast is generous and well cooked but would have been improved by a locally sourced farm sausage. We enjoyed our stay.”

1950s American Diner
John St, Church Gresley, Swadlincote DE11 8EJ, UK
Phone: 01283 384783
“This place was awesome. Made me feel like I'd just walked into Brooklyn for a bite to eat. Really authentic place that captured the essence of the once gleaming splendour of 1950s America. Incredible menu & the food itself was beyond amazing. 5 stars all around, although atmosphere lost a star as it does get a little chilly in there if the front door is left open. Beyond that, highly recommended 😁”
