Stopped here for lunch and the food is fantastic. Service with a smile and a really lovely cosy country pub. Parking is very limitednand quite tight so often easier to park on nearby streets, but be mindful of residents driveways. Definitely worth the drive for the food!

Decided to pop in for breakfast.. great service and value although both bacon and sausages were burnt black and the eggs were over cooked and not particularly inviting. We asked for one vegetarian breakfast but they don't do any kind of veggy sausages or bacon and again the eggs were over cooked. Lovely venue but was disappointed in the over cooked items...

Been a few times for Sunday lunch. Staff always happy to help and friendly. Food is beautiful. Tried the Pork and Chicken lunches. Not stay there yet but looking at a weekend break very soon.

One of our favourite local pubs. Lovely meal lovely service atmosphere and pint of landlord. What more can you ask?

Wanted to go out of my way to leave a positive review for the Fox & Goose. Living fairly locally, we drop in time to time and on Sunday just gone, we did so with our little boy. We hadn't booked nor were we having any food. Just a drink at the bar. Those dining had the opportunity to 'meet santa' in a cordoned off area. Spotting we had a little boy with us, the bar staff kindly invited him in to meet Santa despite us not dining etc. My little boy loved it and was thrilled with his little present. Unbeknown to them, due to work commitments I'd been unable to attend our booked Santa visit elsewhere so this impromptu meeting of the man himself, was that bit more special for us as the parents. Lovely venue with great food and drink but above all that - the staff puts it above other venues. Thanks again!

Cosy pub for a Sunday roast. The food was very good. Service excellent. A beautiful view with outside seating. Play area for children. An easy drive just outside of Chesterfield with plenty of parking.

As a family, we've been to the Red Lion restaurant a few times, mostly for special occasions. It's an amazing location, the service is outstanding, the decor and ambience feels luxurious while still relaxed. The staff helpful, friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The Christmas decorations were amazing. The food was exquisite and pricey but worth it. While there are a couple of vegetarian dishes on the menu, it would be nice if there were some choices for vegetarians, but that didn't detract from the evening. Once again, we've had a wonderful evening. Thank you.

We stayed at the Peak Edge Hotel with a group of friends in a party of eight. It was without doubt the nicest place I have stayed at in a very long time. The interiors are welcoming and warm, the decor is tasteful and well done. The 4 log fires are (on) and tended throughout the day and provide secluded areas ideal for groups and families travelling together. Rooms are modern, well equipped and spotless, we had a (unrequested) upgrade to the feature rooms which was appreciated by all. Food was excellent served in the light and airy Red Lion Restaurant, good quality and generous portions. Fabulous full breakfast. This hotel is family run and it shows. The staff were amazing to a man (and lady). The impression is that they enjoy their jobs and that its a happy place to work. They are a credit to the management. Superb doesn't do it justice!

We only live 5 minutes away, but decided to book a suite for the night with breakfast the following morning. The hotel reception looks fantastic and the staff are welcoming and professional. The rooms are amazing, very spacious, and come with a duck quack alarm clock from the small lake outside the balcony window. We had an evening meal and breakfast in the restaurant. Both were exception as always, and the staff are a credit to the business. The open fire in the bar area really does set the tone for this place.

A superb place. There were ten of us at dinner and we were all effusive in our praise for the food and the service. The rooms were well-appointed, the beds comfy, the views delightful. Breakfast portions were generous, quickly-served and of high quality. The service was particularly attentive. On selecting the full breakfast without the meat items, I was asked by the waiter (whose name I neglected to ask) whether I was vegetarian, and she asked if I'd prefer veggie sausages instead, which was kind. Great coffee too. I will be staying here again when I have an excuse.

Fantastic venue. Been there several times. Staff so helpful. Good drink exemplary service at a decent price. Lovely setting in the village and internally in the pub. Thanks to "Larry the landlord" lovely guy Dave is and the other staff members. Highly recommend this place!!

This is my absolute favourite pub in the world - the atmosphere inside is second to none if you are looking for an authentic local British pub with great ales - its brewery owned now but the brewer is local, the cherry porter is my favourite!!! Also a great gin selection. Lovely fires in winter and good quality pub food. I love it so much here I had my 40th in their function room and the atmosphere was perfect, very oldy worldly and they couldn’t do enough - even cleaned up the next day!!!! Poets forever 🍻

I booked a table for two last night. I'm glad I chose to come to the poets corner it certainly didn't disappoint. I had 8 ounce sirloin steak, chips etc, my partner had the same. We both really enjoyed the meal, the steak was cooked to perfection just how we ordered it. There was a lovely hot fire, nothing was too much trouble for the girl who was waiting on, we were made very welcome. The only thing they could improve on is they need larger plates, which we told the waitress. Me and my partner will definitely be back soon, I can fully recommend this place to anyone.

Really enjoyed our visit to this lovely olde world pub in Ashover. We had a choice of 3 in the village and glad we ended up in this one. The decor and atmosphere were excellent, but the food was even better. The three of us all had the burgers and were hoping to have room for dessert - but were so full we couldn't manage one!! A very enjoyable meal and good drinks too. Thank you. 🍔🍔🍔🍔

Came for a wake. Great old country pub. Well catered, lovely food but staff are bit absent at times. Probably better on a normal session.

Brilliant village pub with a fascinating connection to the past. Good selection of beers and friendly staff. Plenty of seating inside and to the frontage outside. The original building has flagstone floors, even incorporating part of a headstone from the church graveyards next door. Sunday roast was one of the best.
