Mind blowing food in an amazing atmosphere. Fantastic for vegetarians! Artichokes were amazing, as were Souther Fried Oyster Mushrooms. You must come here!

I haven’t been home to Barrow for a while but I was there visiting Saturday and my sister booked The Hive for Saturday Evening Tapas. It was quite simply the best restaurant I have been to in Barrow for years. The food was superb, the service was fantastic and the drinks were also delicious. Everything about this restaurant makes it worth a visit. Wonderful place!

A beautiful little restaurant, serving fresh local ingredients. The staff were amazing and very attentive, especially Jackie who went out of her way to make sure we had the best evening possible. We were a group of 13, so we pre ordered before the evening and the food came out on time and was cooked perfectly. Drinks were plentiful and we had a brilliant night.

A brilliant little hidden gem on Scott street. We hadn't been before but we're so glad we tried it. The staff were so lovely, especially our waiter who was such a polite young lad. Our food was beautiful and although we didn't try a cocktail, the ones that we saw being served nearby looked great! Definitely going to be back soon.

We had dinner for two on a Saturday evening, the staff were very attentive and warm. The food was delicious, delicately flavoured and presented beautifully. A particular thank you to our waitresses Leva and Charlotte who were both so kind.

Front of house staff very friendly from the moment we arrived, Service was very efficient but didn't feel rushed! The restaurant was very cosy and had a relxed atmosphere. The food was soo fresh and tasted incredible, packed full of flavour and plenty to chose from off the menu without being bombarded. Will definitely be going back

What an incredible night at Leddy’s! Six of us wined, dined, and had the best time imaginable. The food? Absolute perfection. I kicked things off with the scallops, so good they deserve their own fan club. Then came the beef, which was so tender and flavorful it practically melted in my mouth. And that sticky toffee pudding? Let’s just say it was love at first bite! The staff were total stars—fun, friendly, and always one step ahead. Our wine glasses were magically never empty (how do they do that?), and their energy added to the already buzzing vibe. The atmosphere was spot on—relaxed, lively, and the perfect setting for a great night out. We all left with full bellies, big smiles, and plans to come back soon. If you haven’t been to Leddy’s yet, what are you waiting for?

1st time trying this place, has a cosy atmosphere, nice and clean. Great value for the set menu at £14 per person! Papadoms and a generous serving of pickle tray, nicely presented and tasty starters, followed by delicious curry with a choice of nuns and rice which was also excellent and a scoop of ice cream to finish. The only problem I have is the time it takes between courses, could be a bit more fluid as it is a weekday and not that busy, but overall a pleasant experience.

A very busy night to be sure for Bengal Kitchen but that didn’t stop us being attended to like we were the only ones there. Lovely friendly chats with the owners, a real warm atmosphere. The food was superb. Would highly recommend the kebab mix for starters, wonderful meat cooked perfectly. Will be returning definitely!

A little gem, all the food tasted fantastic and was freshly cooked. service was excellent even though they seemed to be doing a lot of takeout at the same time. I would recommend a visit to this place if you are local

Tried this place after hearing positive reviews, I was not disappointed! Great selection of meat & veg oh & beer 😋. Reasonably priced, friendly service, lovely traditional country pub. Highly recommend booking to avoid disappointment. Deffo be back 👌🏻

Went here based on reviews & wow wasn’t disappointed. Without a doubt the BEST carvery I’ve ever had!!! Staff all lovely, place itself really nice, will definitely be going back.
Rating: 5 / 5
We came here to try the weekday lunchtime carvery after reading good reviews, and we were not disappointed! At £13.50pp it was priced favourably and had a choice of 2 meats although we were informed that it’s usually 1. We went for a mix of pork and beef which was spot on, combined with a Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, roast potatoes, and a great choice of perfectly cooked vegetables, and tasty gravy, made for a cracking meal. The draught Bass was perfect too so all good in my book! Our only gripe was that we were seated near a window and as the weather was hovering around freezing it was a bit cool, but really that is our fault as we couldn’t be bothered to ask to be moved. On our way out we noticed the snug room with a roaring fire so should have gone in there! We will definitely be returning in the near future for another lovely carvery👍 We will certainly be back

We had a great meal - I had a Stilton and beef pie - so yummy! My partner had lamb, which looked amazing. Also, the staff were very helpful when accommodating some dietary needs we had. Staff were very friendly, we spoke to 3 different people whilst we were there, but service was seamless. Beer and wine was 👌 All in all 2 very happy diners. Thank you

Visited here for lunch, nice village pub, good menu and choice of ales. Service was good, but unfortunately they had run out of a few items on the festive menu following a busy weekend. Highly recommend the festive sausage and mash. Will visit again.

We stayed for a couple of nights in October and had such a nice visit, suited us perfectly and staff were all super friendly, welcoming and helpful. We don't stay away often so really appreciated it being such a nice experience. Great beer and food looked good, would definitely return.

Always have a good experience here! Great food! Although with kids, check timings of food and where you can eat what part of the menu in the pub, as we wanted to eat in the bar and they’ve changed the rules to only eating the main menu in the restaurant and they didn’t have any space! So we had to leave! Apart from that the selection of food and drinks is good! Great bar snacks too!

Pie & mash Monday special, open fire, great service and a good pint!! What more could you ask for. One thing I noticed throughout the pub was the cleanliness, not a sticky table or lipstick covered glass here, the place sparkles, well done!!

Excellent first visit. The Sunday lunch was the best I had eaten in a long time. The cheese board was very enjoyable and the selection of wines and beers was very good. For a cosy country pub this will be hard to beat

I was greeted and given a spot for my campervan next to the pub garden to park up; very level and quiet. I had a very friendly welcome and the meal was delicious - seafood linguine with a very rich, creamy sauce. A TV had been installed for the Rugby 6 Nations tournament, and I was told it only comes out for certain sporting events, so I suggest checking if you want to watch something specific.

Okay.. so my family went to Derby on a day out and we just stumbled across this restaurant online when we searched for grills... I can confidently say they serve the best biryani I have ever had. The signature grill was fantastic. Flavourful and delicious. You can tell the food was freshly made. Absolutely fantastic customer service by Ash that attended to us. Definitely coming back here.

We came here for lunch with the family over the weekend. We asked for a nice table as it was a celebration and we got the round booth which was a really nice table and gave us some privacy. Which was a really nice touch by the restaurant. The place looks amazing and the staff were friendly and attentive. The manager was approachable and told us a bit of the history of H&C and the decor. We had a great meal the food was fantastic and would recommend it to anyone but would advise to book in ahead. As we tried previously to get a table and it was full. There is plenty of parking out side or there is street parking also.

Excellent carvery. food fresh and refreshed regularly, a lot of customers (reservations advisable especially more than 2-4 people or a popular time) - no hard roast potatoes or vegetables dried out on the carvery buffet. Good beer choice. We have eaten here several times, consistently excellent. Lakeside outdoor tables very pleasant in summer. Exceptionally good customer staff, considerate and good at anticipating needs of customers including older and with disabilities. Steps inside, best to reserve in advance if applicable.

I was here with my family for a funeral wake though I would definitely use this place as a local to eat and drink. Beautiful pub and set in beautiful grounds with a fishing lake, staff were friendly and polite a credit to the pub. Thank for a wonderful afternoon.

The ultimate carvery. Superb service, lovely setting and amazing food. The meats are delicious. Chef is clearly proud of the food on offer. Veg is equally superb. Puddings were also great. Totally recommend. You'll struggle to get a roast dinner as good as this. Deserves every award it has achieved. Staff are really friendly too.

I can not fault this establishment. We came this week for our 5 year anniversary meal, we hadn't ever been to eat here before, and I was dubious, I was very pleasantly surprised. My partner sure did choose a good place to eat (for once). I had the mushrooms to start with sourdough it was by far the nicest mushroom starter I have tasted. I then ordered the steak with homemade chunky chips, mushroom and side salad, with a side order of onion rings. The steak was a little over cooked I asked for R but it was more MR. But the whole dish outweighed that slight error. The CHIPS are by far the best chips I've ever tasted at any restaurant. And those onion rings.... Well..... I was shocked to say the least absolutely fantastic. I was so full but I couldn't stop eating. We even had desert. Thankyou for such a lovely feast. Well recommend this place to absolutely anyone and everyone. Compliments to the chef.

Visiting The Boot Pub, I was very impressed with the overall service and quality of food. However, I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with a particular aspect of my experience that I believe needs immediate attention and resolution. During my visit, I ordered a black peppercorn sauce, but what I received appeared to resemble gravy rather than the sauce I was expecting. Upon raising this issue with the waiting staff, the dish was taken back to the kitchen and returned with the same issue unresolved. This was not only disappointing but also demonstrated a lack of communication between the kitchen and the serving staff. I would like to emphasize that I found this repeated issue particularly concerning for an establishment of your reputation. It reflects a gap in the coordination between the management, kitchen, and waiting staff!

A lovely country pub, in a gorgeous little village, good wine and coffee. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff. Clean, stylish and comfortable bedroom for an overnight stay.

Me and my wife travelled from Ironbridge Shropshire up to see one of The National Trust places in the area.Calke Abbey. Because we had nearly a two hour drive home, we decided to call into one of the local pubs in the town of Repton. First impression was there was limited parking, so we parked a few streets away in a public car park. But upon entering the pub we realised this was a busy food pub .And, the bar person said they had no availability in the restaurant .But we were able to dine in the bar. We were impressed with the menu. I had the panfried fish, and my wife had the roast beef and Yorkshire pudding with all the vegetables. We can say this was fine dining without it being protentous. Our meals were cooked to perfection. We had dessert too and again they were excellent. We did not stay here in one of the rooms .However, if we are ever up in that part of the world again ,we will definitely call in again.
