“Dinner The Tasting Club By George Bloor We've been trying to get in here since they opened in April this year. It would be easier to win the lottery. We thought we had won when we managed to get a last minute table. Here's why its so popular. Chef/ Owner George Bloor was named Best Chef in Derbyshire at the young age of 21. Now having over ten years of experience cooking in Michelin awarded kitchens around the country, he left his post at previous “Derbyshire Restaurant of the Year” The Lighthouse Restaurant, to set up his first solo venture. The Tasting Club Snacks 1 crispy pork belly + stuffing nugget with cranberry gel 2 roast turkey soup/ crispy skin/ crunchy sprouts/ bacon & chestnut 3 Smoking cauliflower cheese & English truffle tart 4 Not another prawn cocktail N’duja glazed BBQ Argentinian Red Shrimp lettuce/ chorizo/ Marie Rose / preseved lemon/ pil-pil croutons 5 Wild Row Deer Lasange 24 hour sticky râgú with tomato roasted squash + creamy herb bechamel textures of Parmesan 6 Coal for Christmas Derbyshire aged beef fillet in charcoal crispy onions + baby leeks bone sauce with chive oil 7 Gingerbread man milk chocolate parfait/ eggnog mousse/ hazelnut ice cream/ honeycomb 8+9 Look it's snowing coconut ~ passion ~ cheesecake ~ blood orange From start to finish the dishes were beautifully presented and the taste sensations just kept on getting better as each course was served. The succulent Prawns in the starter😋 And the lasagne, dare we say "the best we have ever had". The staff are young and well versed on the dishes they serve to the table. An absolutely stunning menu which changes with the seasons. As good as any Michelin starred restaurant we have been to, if not better. Another visit just as good👍”

“Our second time here, first time trying the grazing menu. Food was absolutely outstanding. Louis made our experience special and memorable. Sam and Sadie were very efficient too. Totally recommended. Big thank you for our Instagram competition prize.”

“We really enjoyed our visit to the Bluebell! I'd seen a photo of the steak frites online and felt like I had to go and try them! I was not disappointed - we both really enjoyed our mains, and the puddings were incredible too. I'd definitely recommend visiting if you're nearby.”

“New Head Chef and new menus. We booked for his second evening service. It's a set menu of 2 course £38 or 3 course £45. With lovely homemade bread and butter to start. For starters we chose the Chicken Terrine and Joe's hand dived scallops which were absolutely delishes. Mains were Cornish Cod,Brassicas,Chard,Smoked Roe. Beef loin & cheek, Celeriac, White onion. A dessert of Chocolate ,70% Valrhona Chocolate, Espresso, Clotted Cream. And a delightlighfully large plate of cheeses. The menu will change depending on what fresh local produce is delivered. The food was perfectly executed, as expected from a young talented chef such as Adam.It was great to meet him again and to see him back in action. Staff were pleasant and professional. The pub is part of Berkeley Inns, which is a small pub group with some other great venues. They are clearly aiming high with this new head chef appointment for their casual fine dining. We'll look forward to see how they develop and the word gets out. Future awards and accolades are on the horizon for sure.”

“This is an old country pub with excellent rooms. Quaint with quality modern fit-out. Nice selection of beers and reasonably priced wine. However, the food is absolutely top-notch. Friendly service caps it off. 5 Stars!”
