Great place for thai food with lovely, friendly staff and amazing for vegans. Highly recommend this restaurant.

We went for an "early doors" meal for my birthday on a Saturday in August. It was our first visit...and certainly won't be our last. Excellent friendly service, lovely food and a good location made for a nice early evening...and a nice touch too of the staff to present me with a little cake with a candle in it. Went out with Liz to this fabulous Thai restaurant. The food was excellent. Great service. We had the sharing Thai starter. For main Liz had seabass in a light batter and I had pork tenderloin, all the food was so taste.

Thank you for the most amazing bottomless brunch to celebrate my 50 th birthday,service was 1st class,food was amazing,and absolutely amazing venue. Best bottomless brunch we have ever ha. Cocktails were ready poured.

We came here for the first time as we wanted a nice spot for breakfast, the service was brilliant, staff were very friendly, the food was so delicious and well presented! They also showed us around downstairs where they have a bar and cozy yet still modern lounging area. Would definitely recommend, we will be coming back here!

We stopped on the off chance on a lunch stop and were blown away by the gorgeous food! Absolutely delicious! Really hearty size. The full English was HUGE! And I was assured it was delicious. Mine was the Eggs Royale and it was silky hollandaise and the poached eggs were done perfectly. Can't recommend enough! Noone else was in there at the time we went and I can't think why, it is brilliant!

One of my favourite restaurants, this place serves gorgeous food, has many choices available and is located in a lovely semi rural town. The food is cooked to order, which is my preference, well behaved children and dogs are welcome too. Definitely worth a visit if you appreciate proper cooking and historical buildings. The staff are absolutely lovely and they can't do enough for their customers.

Honestly hands down one of the best places I've ever eaten. I had the pulled pork wrap and it was just gorgeous. Hand cut chips also crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. Partner had the Roman burger which was one of the best he's had he said, which is a statement!! We then had the sticky toffee pudding which was served warm with vanilla ice cream. Absolutely beautifully baked, not too sweet and the cake was fluffy like a cloud. Service was fantastic, nice music on and warm. Dog friendly too so we had our pooch with us. Very well priced and affordable, will be coming back for sure. It was honestly one of the best meals we have had and would 100% recommend! Thanks so much.

Great place!! And would highly recommend to anyone! The food was exceptional, especially the beef and chicken hanging kebabs. Steak was perfectly well cooked. All 8 of us was very happy with our meals! Really friendly team also. They were amazing with my sisters rapeseed intolerance also and checked with her to make sure everything was great with her meal and offered her more if she needed. I'm looking forward to going back again soon!

My husband and I went for a little date at lunch time and decided to try the Devonshire. What an absolutely gorgeous place. The staff were wonderful and attentive, the food was first class, a real treasure 😊 thank you all for a lovely lunchtime x (Worth noting also, despite my husband and I not being vegan or veggie- there were a number of excellent options to cater for those that are!)

Great pub in Duffield. Real ale I can recommend the Bass is brilliant. Had a few meals here in the past and all good there. We tried a “bottomless lunch” which included starter, main and included 2 hours free bar. Staff nice and polite. Well recommended 👍

It's taken us ages to actually get round to booking a table but decided to take our friend here for his birthday. We were really impressed with the food and the service. I had a steak which was cooked perfectly and the chips and onion rings were amazing. The rest of the meals were great and it's a lovely atmosphere and the staff were lovely. To top it off they even brought out a surprise dessert with a candle on for the birthday boy. Thanks for a great meal.

This is my second visit while on holiday from Canada, and this place has quickly become a favorite. The pub is cozy and inviting, with a huge patio that's perfect for a beautiful day. The food portions are generous and delicious, complemented by an amazing selection of beers. It's definitely a favorite holiday spot and a local haven. Plus, it's dog-friendly, so there's never a shortage of adorable dogs. The best pub in Derbyshire!!!

Amazing proper pub, like going back in time! Several real ales which were very well kept. Good varied menu, plus cheese platter and a choice of pork pies. We had the cheese platter and a pork pie to share, and a side of chips which were homemade and exceptional 😋 Our food cost £13 and the ale was £4.50 a pint. We were very happy with value, food quality and ale! A characteristic old pub with decor and open fires to match. I wish we could walk to this great pub!! 👍

I have had the pleasure of working behind the scenes (used to be an independent wedding photographer (pre covid) and now as a regular customer. As a customer I will review first. We have had many meals here and each time the food has been beautiful, the service excellent and very reasonably priced. The atmosphere is always perfect whether it is a romantic meal or a catch up with friends. It really is a lovely place to relax. Today we attended the wreath making workshop, we all had a fabulous day and the 2 course meal was very nice. It was well worth the money. They make the place so festive too. I have serious light envy every Christmas! If you are thinking of having your wedding here then you are in for a very special treat. The staff put in so much work behind the scenes to make your day perfect, the wedding coordinators go above and beyond to make everything so special for you. They work with your photographers so you can get the best photos, they are polite and helpful too. This was one of our favourite venues to work at. The views are just stunning too! One of the things I do love about the place is that you even see the owners muck in with the hard work, they don't just leave it to the staff like most places do. Honestly give this place a try you will not be disappointed

We had our wedding at Morley Hayes. We have nothing but plenty of praise for them and our guests were impressed by the quality of the service. There was a lot of attention to detail and we felt looked after throughout the process and on the day. The food was amazing. The rooms were lovely and comfortable. We felt very special. Thank you!!

We had a voucher for champagne breakfast. The food was lovely. However, we realised at the end, we never got our pot of tea, so we had to ask for it.

This year we went to the Christmas Santa Breakfast and Santa’s family lunch. Both experiences were just perfect! Jane went above and beyond to make sure everybody was happy on both occasions. The food was delicious, atmosphere perfect, clean and well presented. Santa was great and the gifts were of a high standard. I would highly recommend these events and huge well done to Jane and her team. Five stars to you all! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A Moroccan Dream! Went to this little gem last night for my friends birthday and we couldn't be more impressed! The restaurant was warm and cosy, and the owner and waitress were welcoming and all around angels. They offered to bring a selection of food (after asking about allergies etc) and safe to say it was an impressive feast! It was some of the best food we've ever had! We had a full salad, falafel, baked brie, spinach flatbread, roasted chicken, and lamb tagine. The salad was crisp and dressed to perfection, with surprising bursts of mango and blueberry perfectly complimenting the salty feta and tangy dressing. The spinach flatbread was simple and comforting- definitely something I'll try and make at home now! And the falafel was so flavourful and moist- a true feat, and the baked brie really hit the spot. The chicken though, the chicken! It was so moist, marinated to perfection, and juicy and crisp- even the bed of salad it was on was dressed and tasty. The lamb tagine was decadent, lamb falling off the fork and the sauce truly tantalising- just the right amount of spice. There was nary a crumb left on the table after we feasted haha! The host should charge more honestly, because their skill is something rare to find. Thank you, Olive! We'll be back!

We were recommended to this place so decided to give it a go. It is a superb place, the owner is really friendly and chatty. The food was amazing, a great meal in a lovely restaurant. We loved it so much we booked again for a few weeks time.

I loved this restaurant went with a friend welcomed to a lovely little table with a prompt and speedy service. Had a few cocktails that came stunningly dressed and appearances didnt disappoint on tasting. Starters and mains was exceptional had no room for dessert disappointingly. I highly reccomend this place and could not fault from entrès to main. I will be returning that is a definate.

Fantastic food and atmosphere for our wedding anniversary dinner. Nothing was too much trouble, my wife is gluten free and they were able to do her a gluten free base pizza. Definitely order the olives as well! Loved the fact that this was a family run restaurant and you can really see the effort put in especially into the food. Thank you for an authentic Italian food experience!

Initially not very welcoming, restaurant nearly empty but told to sit in poky tint table shoved gainst a brick pillar. But we asked and were allowed to sit at a more pleasant table. Service slow generally, OK for diners like us not in a hurry. Superb pizzas

We recently had a large family Christmas meal at The Palfrey, and it was an excellent experience. The private room was beautifully arranged and provided a great atmosphere for our gathering. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure everything ran smoothly. The selection of craft beers was a real highlight, offering something for everyone. The food was very well prepared and full of flavour. The salmon was perfectly cooked, and the mussels were fresh and enjoyable. Every dish was clearly made with care, and the presentation was spot on. Overall, it was a fantastic venue for our family celebration. We’d definitely recommend The Palfrey for anyone looking for good food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Service was fantastic, shout-out to Kieran being accommodating with some late arrivals, topping up drinks when needed and overall being friendly and personable with the group. Food I wouldn’t say was AS good but perhaps I’m expecting the same standard as when I last visited which was April 24. The main part of the dish such as steak was fab, but the chips and the greens were just okay, standard. This didn’t cause much detriment to our visit, we would just love to see more creative sides with more intense flavour at our next visit. To finish off, as I’ve already stated, the highlight of the night really was the service, checking in throughout and making us feel comfortable. Thanks!!

Family Sunday roast, there is a choice of 2 or 3 courses, all of the food was lovely, the staff were excellent and friendly. The restaurant is clean and stylish, a very nice dining experience. Dogs are allowed🐾

Absolutely superb Sunday lunch. Not a 'pile it high' place, the nicest restaurant that I have found in the East Midlands. Delicate starter, nicely cooked lamb for the main and very subtle cheesecake to finish. Excellent.

Probably the best Sunday lunch we’ve had in a while! We hadn’t booked and stopped by on the off chance as the pub’s had some great reviews. The pub was really busy and the owner Sian sorted out a table for us after a short wait. The atmosphere was great as was the food and service. We will definitely be back soon!
