The Lighthouse's Summer 24' menu is extraordinary . We thoroughly enjoyed all dishes which went very well with the drinks pairing. Every dish, from the Japanese Milk Bread with butter to the Orkney Scallop with massaman and chili lime cashews, was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. Overall, the Summer menu at The Lighthouse is a testament to their culinary excellence and I'm looking forward to returning again soon.

Had an excellent meal last night, staff were attentive but not intrusive. Drinks are fairly priced and they have a selection of local ales. Food from the grazing menu was excellent on every front. The notables were the cote du boef which was well worth the £40 charged and the blue Monday dessert which is blue cheese and a honey & ginger pastry. Spent £200 on a meal for two, so not an every week establishment but great for a treat. Definitely would come again as menu changes regularly.

My partner and I had a wonderful experience here last night celebrating a belated anniversary. The food was incredible - our particular favourites were the 4 courses to start and the two desserts, but we weren’t disappointed with even one dish. The service was another highlight, everyone was very attentive and polite, however one of the service staff in particular (I apologise for not remembering her name!) went above and beyond with her drink recommendations, her attitude and conversation, answering any questions we had, and thoroughly helped elevate our experience even more! I cannot wait to come back again to try their different seasonal menus, this has been a real find and I really hope they get their Michelin star soon as they really deserve it. Lovely! Went for our annual Birthday taster menu and it was great as always. Got to try a few things we'd never had before. A few items were quite salty which was such a shame but the puddings as always were th best part!

Such a fantastic find, food and service were excellent. The wine pairing with the meal was well explained throughout and nothing was too much trouble for the waitress. Would definitely visit again and exceptional value for money.

What an amazing find! We absolutely loved our evening there. A lovely entrance and walk to the pub area. We were greeted by friendly staff who showed us to our table. There was 8 of us and we had a round picnic table with 4 bench seats. Sam was our waiter and was brilliant. Very attentive with great sense of humour! The food was beautiful and plenty of it (we ordered way too many sides to share!!) Drinks were very reasonably priced, bottle of Pinot Grigio blush was £18. There were 2 brilliant singers on the stage singing Xmas songs in the background which was perfect! Thank you for a lovely evening pub in the woods, see you next year!

Where to start 🤩 I saw this place on Tiktok and thought it'd be a great date night for me and my wife. I was wary it wouldn't be as good as social media made it seem BUT it was absolutely AMAZING!! 🙌🏻💕 The whole night was super super organised! You truly can just have the best night as the servers constantly make sure you're okay and they bring food and drinks to you. The 2 live singers were so good! The atmosphere was lovely 🥰 The servers were so kind too, offered to take a photo for us, wrapped our drink so we could take it back as we were a little drunk we couldn't finish it 🤣 The toilets were clean and love the fact there was hand towel to use. I cant wait to come back here next year 😍 Thank you!!

Amazing! Food was delicious and a really fun evening! Plenty of vegetarian options which was appreciated and a large drinks menu.

We went to Lovage last night and I can honestly say it was one of the best restaurant experiences that I have had for a long time. It was beautifully served, generous portions, every mouthful was absolutely delicious. I had the duck and it was exceptional. I cannot recommend this restaurant more highly. I wish it was in Kent - I would be a regular visitor!

What a fantastic restaurant! We visited as a treat as we were visiting Bakewell and we’re glad we came. The staff are wonderful and incredibly welcoming. The food was incredible. We had the 7-course tasting menu and each course was unique with such attention to detail. Although it is expensive, it’s reasonable for such a delicious tasting menu which stands up against other restaurants that are twice the price. We can’t wait to come back again soon.

We had a fantastic dinner at Lovage last night. Each course was delicious and there were plenty of options for a vegetarian. The service was as exceptional as the food and we had a lovely evening celebrating, made truly special by extra little touches. Thank you so much ❤️❤️

Visited last month for a 10th anniversary meal and everything was fantastic! Jonathon was the perfect host and each dish was explained upon delivery by polite and pleasant staff. The food was fantastic (we went for a sharing Chateaubriand which was cooked perfectly and the tuna starter we had was fabulous!) and the breads brought beforehand (local bitter bread with a marmite butter) were outstanding! Thank you so much guys, amazing night!

Feb 2024 visit. Visited as a group of 9 for a birthday meal. Was recommended to try KAYI by a few people and it was clear to see why! Staff very friendly and provided great service throughout, they went above and beyond and can honestly say it was some of the best service received out of many many restaurant visits. We tried a mix of items, everything from the mix platters to the lamb ribs were delicious and could not fault it at all. Good menu range and good portion sizes.

Came here for Iftaar and had such a great time.The food was authentic Syrian and so delicious and fresh.The staff very friendly and the atmosphere was fantastic.Will definitely recommend to anyone who likes Middle Eastern cuisine

Lovely little restaurant. The food was fantastic. Service excellent, with all staff very polite and courteous. Great atmosphere and very clean, including the toilets. Was there with family and everyone liked it equally.

Great place, service and amazing food. If you haven't been before I would definitely add it on the list of places to eat at and I'll grab the bill if you didn't like!🤣 Ps. Don't sit on the doorway side, can be a bit chilly when cold outside. Enjoy the great experience

Good food at great prices but the real enjoyment comes from the atmosphere created by the staff. A regular must visit for locals as the menu changes pretty much every day

Really good prices here as the prisoners learn new skills ready for release. The food is canteen-style but tasty. They do a range of baguettes etc too. The chips are great and they’re happy to give you loads of them!

Excellent food , excellent value very generous portions all fresh fruit and salad, We started with a fan of melon each which was lovely and fresh, afterwards I had chicken tikka masala with rice , nan bread plus a portion of chips and my wife had a salmon parcel with salad and chips , total cost for the food was £18.00 amazing value.

Food are generous and tasty. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Very happy to find the little gem in the way to Alton Towers. Will visit again next time to the resort.

I was trying to get hold of The Rugby Tavern in London a sister pub and was directed to The Cow, Dalbury as the key brewery number. Spoke to Erin(?), who was incredibly helpful and got connection for me with The Rugby Tavern, who were experiencing phone line issues. Thank you for the efforts they made to help our booking for 11 go smoothly.

A positively faultless experience, easily one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. Super lovely staff, immaculate rooms with romantic flair, one of the most comfy beds we've ever slept on! Courtyard access from the bedroom on the ground floor was delightful (and under-advertised - it was a very pleasant surprise!), room was super toasty and warm (but not stifling). Food was Michelin-star level good, and we felt spoilt for choice despite being vegan - easily one of the best meals out we've had over many years. All the theming and decor is stunning, so much thought and care put into making the place a perfect blend of modern/rustic. Can't recommend enough, the perfect domestic luxury break. Thank you so much for a perfect time.

I visited The Cow on Sunday for a roast with a couple of friends. I have a severe peanut allergy and found out on arrival that there were peanuts present in the kitchen, in the nut roast. One lady in particular was amazing and so kind, I think she might have been the manager. She spoke to the kitchen and gave me really detailed information on where food was prepped and which option would be safest. She then carried my food out herself and gave me my own portion of vegetables. I felt really at ease, thank you! ❤️ The food was delicious too! 😊

Recently stayed at The Cow with my wife for her birthday. Overall a lovely place and a great evening meal, however, a couple of things let it down and I don't think the stay is value for money. Our room was lovely however, it was right next to the bar area and opposite the kitchen so was very noisy. There were 4 rooms available when I booked, had known where it was located I would have chosen one of the others and I do think this is something they should make you aware of and the room rate maybe reduced as a result compared to the other rooms. At £220 a night I do think the rooms are expensive for what they are, they're lovely and the Molton Brown bits are a nice touch but with no breakfast included they're on the *expensive* end. Some form of breakfast should definitely be included IMO, some toast, a pastry or some cereal from a self serve section would be welcomed. It's also laughable that you have teabags and a kettle in your room but if you ask for a tea with your breakfast it's chargeable. We went with eggs and smoked salmon on toast with two cappucinos for breakfast which cost us another 30 something pounds. Our evening meal was great, really nice food, environment, staff were helpful and friendly. I had cod which was lovely and I thought I'd make the most of their fresh cornish fish. Potato dauphinoise a little greasy for my liking but overall a lovely meal. Had a really nice sauvignon blanc, can't remember the name but the wine was really good. On checkout I mentioned the room noise and the fact I booked the room based on it's overall look but as above wouldn't have if I'd known it's location. I was met with a very generic, unbelievable apology but no offer of a small gesture or discount. Overall I paid around £350 for a one night stay here with breakfast and dinner which I think is a tad on the expensive side BUT it was still nice though wouldn't rush back.

Great food served by friendly and helpful staff. We prebooked a table for a Friday evening as it is known to be busy, we were welcomed with a smile, served our drinks and shown to our table. When we ordered the service was quick and efficient. The waitress then returned to confirm if we were satisfied and later returned to offer us the desserts menu. Only slight issue was that the bar was crowded by drinkers when it came to paying the bill. We will definitely be back again soon.

Fabulous pub. A group of 9 of us went on Tuesday Night is Pie Night. We had such a huge choice of homemade pies, sides and gravies. Nutella Cheesecake, Trifle and Sponge Puddings were superb as well. The service was outstanding, the young lady who served us was an absolute superstar. I had Chicken and Chorizo Pie, Cheese and Bacon Mash, Chips Shop Mushy Peas and Gravy. It was so good. I was driving, so they even made me a pot of tea.

A genuinely lovely country pub, so much character and a charming atmosphere. If you can get one of the armchairs by the fire on a winter's evening it's amazing. The food is excellent, it's known for its pie menu but it's all good. I recommend the venison and red wine pie particularly.

We went here for mine and my partners 4 year anniversary meal, what she didn't know was that it was also a proposal meal too!! She said yes!! I rung up prior to us coming to make special arrangements to make the moment even more special and the staff here really did just that!! Sat us infront of a Christmas tree and played our song alongside at my request. Once she said yes the staff provided us with a complementary bottle of bubbly and a congratulations card which was so nice of them to do that! The food itself was absolutely amazing! My partner had the venison and red wine pie, which she said was the best she's ever had! I had the 9oz burger which was thick and juicy. The caramelised onions were to die for too! And don't even get me started on their home cooked chips!! The atmosphere was really nice! Seeing as it was bad weather that day the whole pub felt warm and welcoming! It was refreshing to go into a proper tradition pub that has an open fire and the dark wood furnishings to match! All of the history of the pub in picture as you walk in was nice to see too! My only improvement which does not at all ruin the experience at all was the toilets, they need abit of tlc. Overall I couldn't thank the staff enough for making our special meal even that little bit more! Will definitely be coming back in the future and would highly recommend for anyone!!

We sat in the bar area with a drink on arrival, our order was taken whilst enjoying the drinks. We were taken through after about 20 minutes. We ordered a bottle of Semillion to go with the food and water was brought to the table, only cristism would be make sure the glasses are cold!! The food was hot, nice big portions and very tasty. Our waitress Lydia was very nice and helpful.

Had a wonderful anniversary meal at this very quiet hidden pub. Would highly recommend if you’re near the Peak District area. I would recommend the sausages that they been making themselves since 2009. The chef clearly understands flavours as well, as can be seen through the bao buns we ordered for starters. Service was spot on and they were friendly and welcoming staff.

Great country pub. Went their first Sunday lunch. Food and service was excellent. Had the Pork roast which was delicious and the roasties were amazing. Treacle pudding was light fluffy and tasty. Decent pint of Guinness too which was creamy with strong coffee overtones and a hint of chocolate. Just a shame about noisy children but that’s not the pub’s fault. Would definitely go again
