So glad we found this awesome pub. We stopped for lunch after checking Google Maps to see what was in the area, and the Bull's head was a great find. The staff were brilliant, the food was delicious and the building itself was fantastic. It was easy to imagine sitting there next to the fire 100 years ago with not much changed (in a good way). There are interesting things to look at everywhere. Definitely stop by if you're in the area.

Entering this pub is such a time warp as it is the quintessential traditional pub - it's great. Hidden in the back streets of Tintwhistle, it is an unassuming building, slightly shabby, but certainly worth a visit. When walking into this pub it is clear you are visiting an something very different; the ambience was nice & relaxed, the staff were lovely & friendly, but it is the layout and interior furniture that takes you back in time. It is gorgeous to see such eccentricity in a time of bland corporate chains. This is clearly an independent pub that has apparently stood for 500 years or more (so we were told). The food was good - several vegan options were available, which is great. Can't wait to visit again.

We were hunting for a stop off dinner on route to Manchester airport going this absolutely gem on Google maps. What a lovely venue, roaring fires, a fabulous welcome, the food was home cooked and absolutely delicious. A very well earned 5 stars.

One of the best pubs I’ve been to! The steak and Ale pie was first class and completely handmade. Staff very lovely and chatty - get yourselves down!!

First time at Windy Harbour for a wedding. Lovely setting Staff very attentive. The food was hot and okay. The only criticism is the toilets, which need updating, and only two ladies' toilets for large wedding receptions is not good enough. The bar prices were okay still pricey for some drinks

Visit here due to friend’s wedding. Its combines great rural scenery and historic cottage atmosphere. Bit hard to find by only postcode. Recommend if around and for peak national park trip.

Had a lovely catch-up with a friend we all had a lovely meal Lasagne and steak and ale pie all well presented and all was yummy... and rum and raisin ice cream, which was lovely too. The service was great, and the atmosphere was very good with back ground music 🙂🙂🙂 Three very happy customers

Tucked away in the middle of a residential area, this is a great location. Booked for a meal whilst visiting family in the area. The team were super helpful and attentative. We could bring the dog in with the 5 of us dining. Starters mains dessert and the drinks were brilliant for quality and price. Everything was clean and tidy. Service overall was brilliant, no fault at all. The bar areas were busy and had dinners and those drinking - really nice place to visit.

Very welcoming village local, staff were genuinely friendly, helpful and attentive. The amount of choices on the menu was very impressive (including Gluten Free options) and the food on arrival was as impressive both in quality and quantity. A couple of Real Ales were available both of which did not disappoint. If you are anywhere within striking distance you must visit you will not be disappointed with this excellent hostelry.

Our family had our first experience of the vegan buffet last night and we're very impressed and would highly recommend it. The food was varied ,well presented and delicious. Such a magnificent spread ...and we enjoyed the warm and welcoming eenvironment too. We will definitely be back,thank you so much .

We visited on Easter Sunday for the monthly vegan buffet - always on the last Sunday. You walk in up the stairs, which initially look and feel a bit grim - but persevere, and arrive at the restaurant. The decor was bright and reflected the Sri Lankan culture. We chose to sit in a booth which was comfortable and intimate. The service was excellent - attentive and friendly. The buffet was set out really well, everything was clearly labelled. The choice was fantastic, so many starters, mains, and desserts on offer; everything vibrant and fresh. The food was delicious and it was great to try so many different dishes. It’s all you can eat for £19.95 and you can definitely make the most of this as there is no feeling of being rushed. The vegan buffet starts at 2pm but before this there is an omnivorous buffet available. There is no cross contamination issues as there is a break between so all food on offer after 2 is definitely vegan. Highly recommended!

I've just been for the second time tonight and I'm absolutely blown away by the quality of the food. I've left the restaurant full, happy and raving about how delicious it was.

My family and I enjoyed visiting Ayubowan for the vegan buffet experience, which we felt was good value for money and offered a very wide selection of different dishes. Delicious food and friendly, attentive service. Thank you! We will be back 🙏

Just had a lovely traditional Thai dinner with friends. Everything was delicious! We will be back! Great to see Gluten Free options on the menu in their own section!

The food at the Beehive is absolutely delicious. I can’t recommend the vegan green curry enough, it’s great every time. Proper good Guinness too.

Fantastic pub to visit either for food or a drink. Food is exceptional and John the owner goes above and beyond for his customers. I've been coming in this pub for 35 years now and highly recommend it.

I have been going to this pub for many years and my favourite day to go is a Sunday, if you time it right with your food you can always stick around for the meat raffle at 6.30. It is a busy pub with excellent food and service, the meat raffle increases the good atmosphere that is already there and if you are luckily enough to win everyone celebrates with you. You do not have to go for food, they have a great selection of drinks on the bar, with friendly staff to serve. If Sunday’s not your thing then men’s darts and dominoes on a Monday, quiz night on a Tuesday, which is always a laugh, ladies darts and dominoes on a Wednesday, Thursday is pool night and then the weekend you are guaranteed a good night. Keep an eye out for any entertainment they have on, you wouldn’t want to miss it. There is also a function room upstairs which has its own bar.

This pub rocks. It has customers from a range of demographics, so I felt right at home immediately. The staff were very friendly, and indeed, quite a lot of the customers appeared to have been staff at some point. There was live music in the attic, which turned out to be the former front man from the Inspiral Carpets, so this place is no parochial frippery. It has pulling power and I can quite see why. We spent hours just chatting, petting others' dogs and going with the flow. A wonderful pub.

The food was undeniably delicious and reasonably priced - the mac n cheese and parsnip fries are delightful! It would be great if they could be open for lunch and dinner all days of the week. Only downside was the incredibly unfriendly and non-engaging female members of staff - the male staff were great but the female bar staff was particularly hostile and without a smile...a real let down. (I've attached their latest menu... The website seems to be very out-of-date)

Almost exactly halfway between my home in Dumbarton and my daughters in Ilford and with a Travelodge within 10 minutes walk it seemed the perfect place to break the journey. I had a Nacho Burger and my wife had Mac & Cheese. Both were delicious and satisfying although she did leave room for some cake. I washed mine down with a pint of Ron’s Comet Pale Ale brewed “out the back”! Might have to stop off again on the way home!

Went for a meal at the Globe after a long winters walk on Bleak Low Head. It was the perfect place to go and recover after a long walk. The atmosphere was warm and friendly and the food was fantastic. We stayed and chatted for hours. The pub has a great range of vegan options and the prices are really good value.

Attended on a Sunday with a group of friends. Fantastic food, very accommodating for our visit, dog friendly and carers to lots of dietary requirements. Would go again and would recommend. Great location as well for a post-hike meal and pint.

Enjoyed lunch in the bar area as tables booked in Eating area. Food and Beverages really good. I had the Goats cheese salad with plain fries (fries hot and crunchy, just right). Other family. Members enjoyed Philly steak wraps with loaded fries. Friendly, polite staff. Good ales.. 😊😊.

Called in for a nice quiet meal on a Thursday and the place was buzzing! The staff were extremely polite, very helpful and always smiling. The food we ordered (Tapas) was outstanding, better than a lot of the Spanish restaurants I have visited on my travels over the years, would absolutely not hesitate to return again, thank you all so much and see you soon :)

A late lunch here on a Saturday afternoon. Quiet when we arrived but has gotten busier since. Ordered the double burger and my wife had a pizza. Too much to choose from on the new menu, all looked great. The chef recommended food to us and wasn't wrong. Thank you George! Food was delicious and plentiful. Beer in good form too. Finished with a couple of Guinness' and these were fantastic too. Highly recommended. Great tunes and atmosphere. Will definitely return when in Glossop. Gerry

Homemade food, really tasty🙌 fish & chips is the perfect balance of batter❤️. Steak and Stilton pie is a great mix of flavors if you like blue cheese. Overall a great place to have lunch or dinner.

Had the roast dinner today and really enjoyed it. All homemade (which you can taste) generous portions of Lamb which was delicious. Service was extra friendly and attentive which I find isn’t common when eating out these days unfortunately. Was nice and warm too which you can’t take for granted nowadays 🤣

I have been to Empire for several events and had the most fabulous time, foods great, entertaining even better and staff are extremely hard working and accommodating. Maddie and Mike are working extremely hard and I wish them the very best for the future! ❤️🥳💃👏
