So glad my son put me onto this place! Our table was booked for 7:30pm on Saturday evening, so we obviously expected it to be busy. Staff said we were being seated upstairs and asked if that was okay. In all fairness, it was quieter upstairs, with tables further apart, so that was already a bonus! We ordered cocktails while we chose starters and mains, and our servers were polite, friendly, and accommodating - offering a different rum in a cocktail, to replace one that we weren't keen on. Our food was spot on! Really tasty and of a decent portion size too. Even though we were starting to get pleasantly full, we couldn't resist dessert, as they sounded so tasty. Let's just say the proof was in the pudding! Highly recommended and we'll definitely be visiting again!

Best Steak I have ever had and I have had more than most. Melted in your mouth and the atmosphere of the restaurant was second to none. My favourite restaurant now. 10 out of 10. Bar staff brilliant and nothing to much trouble. Love this restaurant. 👍👍👍👍

I must say this is one of the best Italian restaurants we have been to. We’ve just got back from Italy and this place beats anything we have had over there. The food was fresh and delicious. The staff were friendly and made time for our little boy. Looking forward to returning :)

Update 17th May 2024: We came back again for our anniversary meal. The food was just as good as last time and they surprised us with cake and ice cream! Absolute legends, highly recommended. Tried the vegan menu and visited for the first time tonight. We were informed on arriving that our table would be a little late. The place was very busy, every chair was in use and the staff were all active. Despite being one of many customers we were still made to feel important. The vegan menu is good enough to want to visit again and to be honest my meal was good I would have it again. I went with the roasted aubergine dish and my wife had the vegan pizza. Both were spot on with portion size and quality. Staff aplogised for our small delay and we were given free drinks while waiting. I really felt like the customer service and quality of food were worth reviewing. We will be back for sure.

This is the third management team I have known to be at The wheatsheaf , I do have to say that it is an improvement on the last manager , it isn’t a ‘ country pub’ anymore , more like a city wine bar , I mean , it is nice , the decor is a bit too dark and music too loud but the landlord seems a nice enough guy?!. They don’t serve food anymore which is a shame ?! Mind you , I don’t think I’d like to be sat eating my dinner with music thudding away

Great place for authentic and proper pub food. The chef is very friendly, just as those serving food. Very generous servings, I recommend the pulled pork burger and fish and chips... To finish with the sticky toffee pudding!

What a gem of a pub! We really enjoyed the friendly service with a personal touch, despite it being busy on a Sunday and only two staff serving. As well as the classic Sunday dinner (four choices of meat), there was an interesting and varied specials board, which included a vegetarian option that didn't sound like an afterthought. Our meals, from soup to desserts, were delicious and came in generous portions. Would highly recommend.

Popped in here on spur of the moment and very glad we did. The landlady was lovely and accommodating. The prices were reasonable and the food was delicious...highly recommend the homemade salted caramel cheesecake. Well worth a visit

Newly renovated, modern pub with a small-but-good ale selection. Interesting spirit selection including flavoured gins. Pleasant outdoor seating with marvellous views and a dedicated parking area.

A great free house, with great hand pulled bitter, and to my delight, Timothy Taylor's landlord,it was,spot on.The pub itself, is clean and comfortable, with friendly staff,and the out side space,has great seating,and Fabulous views.

First time at Windy Harbour for a wedding. Lovely setting Staff very attentive. The food was hot and okay. The only criticism is the toilets, which need updating, and only two ladies' toilets for large wedding receptions is not good enough. The bar prices were okay still pricey for some drinks

What a beautiful little place this is. The first time coming here for food and will definitely be returning. Staff and owner are so lovely and very accommodating for disabled visitors. The food was out of this world and worth every penny. Keep up the good work

Visit here due to friend’s wedding. Its combines great rural scenery and historic cottage atmosphere. Bit hard to find by only postcode. Recommend if around and for peak national park trip.

Had a wonderful experience at Ayubowan. Food was delicious! Starters were full of flavor and were a good variety to choose from. Lamb curry was also flavorful and tender. Good service and a friendly atmosphere.

Our family had our first experience of the vegan buffet last night and we're very impressed and would highly recommend it. The food was varied ,well presented and delicious. Such a magnificent spread ...and we enjoyed the warm and welcoming eenvironment too. We will definitely be back,thank you so much .

We visited on Easter Sunday for the monthly vegan buffet - always on the last Sunday. You walk in up the stairs, which initially look and feel a bit grim - but persevere, and arrive at the restaurant. The decor was bright and reflected the Sri Lankan culture. We chose to sit in a booth which was comfortable and intimate. The service was excellent - attentive and friendly. The buffet was set out really well, everything was clearly labelled. The choice was fantastic, so many starters, mains, and desserts on offer; everything vibrant and fresh. The food was delicious and it was great to try so many different dishes. It’s all you can eat for £19.95 and you can definitely make the most of this as there is no feeling of being rushed. The vegan buffet starts at 2pm but before this there is an omnivorous buffet available. There is no cross contamination issues as there is a break between so all food on offer after 2 is definitely vegan. Highly recommended!

Pleasantly surprised -Not been for many years and a friend suggested we try it now. What a great little place, good choice of menu and specials, few things done very well. Staff could not do enough for us, each one attentive and polite. . It made a very pleasant lunch out, would highly recommend

We brought family over from America and had a party of 13 booked in for New Year’s Eve. The service was superb and all the food came out on time and piping hot, not easy with a big group. Everyone said how great everything was and how much they enjoyed the evening.

Our first visit today Sunday October 27th 2024, arrived 12 noon,ordered 2 Sunday dinners,lamb on both,it quickly arrived and was served pleasantly by the waitress,the meal was hot,a large meal with a good selection of vegetables and tasted delicious,would highly recommend this establishment and hopefully return soon to try other items from the menu. Well done.

I recently visited this amazing restaurant near the Peak District with a beautiful view. The location is perfect and quiet, making it an ideal spot to relax after a long hike. There's plenty of car parking, it’s dog friendly. The food is fantastic. I highly recommend trying the hamburgers and the local beer. You'll love it!

A great place to go for a quick bite or book in with the family and have a good time. I’ve done both and always been welcomed with a smile even after a Christmas rush, where not all the menu was available but the service was great and we were informed and still all found something good to eat. Good selection of drinks and if you’re out walking it’s perfect to stop in and dog friendly. Car park available and I would say wheel chair accessible.

Just been herre for Christmas lunch. The pub was full which lead to a nice atmosphere. The food was lovely tasting and nice and hot with friendly staff serving us. We took our dog along who enjoyed everyone saying "Hello"

Oh wow, what a find glutton free menu for my husband .didn't realise it's a chain of brilliant restaurants. We have been to the one in Hull, which is also amazing, great service. Fantastic staff.foods great as well.

Went in here last Wednesday for lunch with my family and the dog. Had some lovely food and the dog loved it. Would definitely visit again and would highly recommend 👍 We had 2 of the tapas selection and the food was tasty and good value. The place itself looks great and the staff were all so friendly and a credit to the business. Kobe had the doggy sausage 😊 I wish we had managed to get a better seat as in the main area it was a bit loud. If the weather was better we would have sat outside in the lovely seating area. And the seating around the stairs area was full up. The menu itself was fab, great selection and good value for money. The food was tasty and very appetising. Will definitely be back again next time I'm passing through Glossop with the dog. It's a great venue for a good meal. Thanks for a fab lunch ❤️
