My partner and I had a wonderful experience here last night celebrating a belated anniversary. The food was incredible - our particular favourites were the 4 courses to start and the two desserts, but we weren’t disappointed with even one dish. The service was another highlight, everyone was very attentive and polite, however one of the service staff in particular (I apologise for not remembering her name!) went above and beyond with her drink recommendations, her attitude and conversation, answering any questions we had, and thoroughly helped elevate our experience even more! I cannot wait to come back again to try their different seasonal menus, this has been a real find and I really hope they get their Michelin star soon as they really deserve it. Thank you for such a wonderful and memorable evening!

Our second time here, first time trying the grazing menu. Food was absolutely outstanding. Louis made our experience special and memorable. Sam and Sadie were very efficient too. Totally recommended. Big thank you for our Instagram competition prize.

What can I say but this was fabulous. Service was outstanding and the dishes were superb and well presented. Flights were excellent and complimented the dishes extremely well. The team and service were exceptional. The only down side for us was the table placement . In the middle of the restaurant, not very intimate and a lot of through traffic.

Had a lovely experience yesterday! Very family friendly (we had a pram, and they put out a baby change for us). The service was very good. The little finishing touches of bringing cutlery on a plate and sauce on a little side plate, too, made it a more pleasant experience. Food is an amazing value for money! Also full for the entirety of our time there, which I feel speaks volumes!

This charming little cafe in Ashbourne is a real gem. We stopped by for breakfast and were pleasantly surprised by both the quality and value. We ordered the Full English breakfast, which was generous and satisfying. It included two tasty sausages, a perfectly cooked fried egg, crispy bacon, baked beans, mushrooms, tomato, toast, and even a slice of fried bread — all for just £12.75. Considering the portion size and the variety on the plate, it’s excellent value for money. To drink we had a vanilla latte and a refreshing orange juice, both reasonably priced and a great complement to the meal. We left feeling comfortably full — exactly what you want from a good breakfast! The cafe itself is cosy and welcoming, with a relaxed atmosphere that makes it easy to settle in and enjoy your time. There’s also an outdoor seating area upstairs which is a lovely touch if you’re visiting on a sunny day. Overall, it’s a great spot for a casual bite and a warm drink. We’ll definitely be returning the next time we’re in Ashbourne.

My mum, dad and myself had been here on a previous trip to Ashbourne, but only had a cappuccino with the time getting on, and we found it to be a lovely place. So this time, on a solo trip, I decided to stop by for breakfast, which came with two sausages, bacon, baked beans, mushroom, a tomato, black pudding, hash browns, fried bread and white or brown toast. Thankfully, it wasn't too crowded inside and I was able to choose a table at the bottom, nearest the counter, as these are great for solo customers or a party of two. Had a look through the menu, and chose the regular breakfast with granary toast and a cappuccino for the drink. Super cosy place with awesome chairs and tables (going for the marbled look, complimenting the black and white chairs very well!) It was clean and I noticed, by the side, there was a glass jar of dog treats and some blankets, so I think well-behaved dogs are allowed. The lady who served me, as well as the other ladies, were super pleasant and very friendly. Food came out and was presented nicely on the plate, everything hot and cooked to perfection! The fried egg was fabulous and runny, the sausages well-seasoned (proper ones too, not like some you get elsewhere). The hash browns were nice and crispy, not soggy at all! Very filling and certainly set me up for the day. I think the breakfast and cappuccino came to about £16 altogether, which I don't think is bad at all, considering everything was fresh. Would have no hesitation coming back in the future, and would HIGHLY recommend! Many thanks to the staff at Café Impromptu!

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent weekend stay, for our special occasion. The staff were extremely welcoming, friendly, attentive and helpful. Our luxurious room was beautifully decorated and the bed very comfortable. All of our meals were delicious, and we were very impressed with the extensive wine list. Our whole experience was delightful, no doubt due to the great attention to detail that everyone has here. The fabulous grounds and gardens add to the serenity of this beautiful place. We are so glad that we chose Fischers and hope to return..... This is a truly special place ❤️

The food was absolutely incredible—each course beautifully presented and bursting with flavor, clearly crafted with skill and care. Every dish told its own story, and the attention to seasonal ingredients and balance made the meal feel both luxurious and grounded in nature. The setting itself, elegant and tranquil, complemented the whole experience perfectly. It’s clear why Fischer’s holds its Michelin Plate status—it’s a place where fine dining meets heartfelt hospitality. We’ll absolutely be returning and recommending it to anyone looking for a truly memorable culinary experience.

Visited Fischer's at Baslow Hall for an early valentine's dinner with my partner. Neil and the serving staff were great and very friendly. The service never felt rushed and we had a drink in the bar area before being shown to our table. My partner and I have eaten at a fair few fine dining/Michelin restaurants over the years but this was the first time we've booked the Kitchen Bench experience. Ant and his kitchen staff were all very professional and relaxed and were happy to chat, have a laugh and answer any questions we had. They explained the dishes and the processes behind them and it was interesting to see the dishes being assembled and 'coming to live' on the pass. We enjoyed a 9 course tasting menu with some of the highlights being the fish course (especially the Bouillabaisse which it was served with), the Mushroom Pithivier and Egg Custard Tart! We were both very pleased with the whole experience and would thoroughly recommend it. Thanks for a great evening!

We stayed one night and we had dinner on site. This is a beautiful house in a very delicate English garden. From the moment we arrived, the staff looked after us, made us feel welcome and very special. We had an exceptional dinner with a 6 courses menu served at perfect temperature and with paired wines, recommended by the sommelier. The breakfast was also a beautiful experience in the exquisitely decorated dining area. 2 comments for this place to be really heaven on earth: . Sleep: the mattress was very very soft to a point we did not sleep well at all. It felt like we were sleeping on a waterbed, which is very uncomfortable especially after dinner. . The selection of champagne is very good, however £25/£30+ a glass plays the magic of the place down.

One of my favourite tasting menu experiences. The food was fun ! All perfectly cooked with ideal portion sizes. Loved our Christmas themed meal, the atmosphere and service was spot on. Staff were friendly and helpful without being over bearing. We liked small touches like a copy of the menu left on the table. Would 100% recommend even if your not totally into tasting menus you'll love this place !

So much fun!! Totally understand the hype. All dishes were winners. A really interesting take on the menu, we loved it. Also really appreciated the wine selection and those available by the glass. All the team were brilliant, from the moment we arrived they were on it; we didn't even get to the door before they welcomed us in. Had a lot of fun. Looking forward to going back.

Wow! Caught a last minute booking for the ten course - yes TEN - tasting menu. Fab-u-lous! Something so wrong yet right about starting with the unmistakable taste of a Big Mac from the first course but we then cantered through so many creative and sumptuous dishes, each painstakingly presented and introduced by her enthusiastic and friendly team. Start with a cocktail and then enjoy taking your time with the wide choice of wines to suit all tastes (and budgets). We went with a Montrachet as it was a special occasion and the food deserved a wine to match. But please don’t make a reservation - it was hard enough to get one this time!

First but not last time here. Decor and ambience was spot on along with the service. Every dish was a taste sensation, our particular favourites the lobster scotch egg, lamb and duck. Ten courses for under ninety quid of that calibre - just superb.

Had an absolutely stunning meal here last week. The food and service were both excellent and it's a beautiful cosy venue inside. Will definitely come back if I'm in the area again.

An amazing place to dine and stay overnight. The beautiful countryside views from our room watching the sunrise are wonderful. Dining here is amazing, a super a la carte menu and bar menu too. I'd recommend staying here. Super staff, very welcoming, helpful and friendly, thank you for making our romantic stay one to remember. 😁👍

We loved it. Really delicious and interesting food but not over complicated. Superb apple tart tartin to finish which was enough to feed four but we did our best between the two of us. Great value.

Great food served by friendly and helpful staff. We prebooked a table for a Friday evening as it is known to be busy, we were welcomed with a smile, served our drinks and shown to our table. When we ordered the service was quick and efficient. The waitress then returned to confirm if we were satisfied and later returned to offer us the desserts menu. Only slight issue was that the bar was crowded by drinkers when it came to paying the bill. We will definitely be back again soon.

Lovely pub recommended by a friend so while I was in the area I thought I would pop in. Great selection of pies with a good normal menu too.

A wonderful midweek birthday meal! The team went above and beyond for us—from the thoughtful birthday card waiting at our table to the warm, friendly service throughout. We ended the evening with a surprise treat: a rich and delicious triple chocolate birthday pudding. Such a lovely, unexpected touch that made the evening feel truly special. Thank you!

We went here for mine and my partners 4 year anniversary meal, what she didn't know was that it was also a proposal meal too!! She said yes!! I rung up prior to us coming to make special arrangements to make the moment even more special and the staff here really did just that!! Sat us infront of a Christmas tree and played our song alongside at my request. Once she said yes the staff provided us with a complementary bottle of bubbly and a congratulations card which was so nice of them to do that! The food itself was absolutely amazing! My partner had the venison and red wine pie, which she said was the best she's ever had! I had the 9oz burger which was thick and juicy. The caramelised onions were to die for too! And don't even get me started on their home cooked chips!! The atmosphere was really nice! Seeing as it was bad weather that day the whole pub felt warm and welcoming! It was refreshing to go into a proper tradition pub that has an open fire and the dark wood furnishings to match! All of the history of the pub in picture as you walk in was nice to see too! My only improvement which does not at all ruin the experience at all was the toilets, they need abit of tlc. Overall I couldn't thank the staff enough for making our special meal even that little bit more! Will definitely be coming back in the future and would highly recommend for anyone!!

We received warm welcome, the food was amazing and the large double bed was super comfy. The creaky floorboards and uneven floor in the bedrooms added to the charm! Lovely bedding, with a rabbit theme throughout. Would recommend!

Lovely pub, excellent service and phenomenal food! We went on curry night! The lad who spoke to us on the phone said it was fully booked but he could squeeze us in, which was lovely. The curries were absolutely delicious!! Will definitely be back again!

What a great pub...ordered a pint and asked about staying over in my campervan. They said absolutely no problem, so I booked a table and had an amazing curry. Its dog friendly, and they open at 8 in the morning for breakfast. Highly recommended!

Went over for lunch today and what an experience. The staff were all friendly and attentive. The food was incredible! We ordered a lot as the menu had some delicious options. The lamb chops were my favourite and after speaking to the staff I found out they were locally sourced too. The menu also had some vegetarian and gluten free options which was great. The quality was amazing and the flavours were rich and tasty. The spice levels were perfect and I still can't get over the flavour. Highly recommend if you're passing through or local.

Loved this place. The dining area has a spectacular wall to wall window which just draws the eye. It has a boutique feel about. The Staff were excellent the food was fantastic. I had the Coconut and Macadamia crusted salmon and it was beautifully presented and tasted even better. Well done guys 👍

Loved it here. No vegan options, however, they were very accommodating and had a few dishes they could " veganise". Food was beautiful 😋 service excellent.

Still going, again and again, as promised; this remains the stand-out best place to eat (IMHO) in Ashbourne! Excellent; no other word for it! Despite living locally for some time, we have never dined here - regretting that now!! One of the best dinning experiences for some considerable time. The interior looks fresh and modern; the staff are utterly professional in everything they do (well trained / very experienced); the food is exceptional in flavour, presentation, and is delivered on hot plates; finally, the menu is seasonal, so expect the dishes to change - Spring, Summer, and Autumn. As I always say: get yourself along, whether local or just passing through … I know we’ll be going again, and again! 😉

Fabulous Italian food and great atmosphere. By far one of the nicest meals I have had. The food is top quality and the price is very reasonable. The staff were amazing and friendly. Cannot believe it took me so long to eat here but we will be back very soon

First time I've forgotten to take photos as the food was just so good... I have allergies and it's the first time I was asked if I had an epi pen with me. But that they advised on certain dishes that didn't have any nuts. But seems like very obvious question to ask but yet this is the first time I've been asked such a basic thing. Food and service just brilliant. I had steak sandwich it was amazing

One of my favourite restaurants, Vocellas is such a gem. The food is consistently top notch and delicious. The staff are so warm and friendly, with the right mix of relaxed but attentive service. The basil chicken is a favourite but all the dishes are wonderful. The sharing starters are delish! Can't recommend this restaurant enough. Hope they don't change a thing.... five stars!

My friends and I got a last minute booking for here on Friday evening and what a brilliant decision that turned out to be! Food was delicious, staff was amazing and couldn't have been more helpful or any friendlier. The outdoor area is beautiful and very comfortable. The homemade wedges were a particular treat and actually homemade. 11/10. Will return.

I was in about 2 weeks ago now on a Saturday. I cannot stop thinking about the stellar service I received from a young man, Josh. I am not a big drinker so he talked me through their extensive drinks menu. I eventually settled on their house Pinot Grigio. Value focused and full of flavour. He truly is a great addition to the team. Bravo Josh👏👏👏👏
