What a. fab new venue, in Hathersage and the food is first class. Locally sourced, produce, nothing frozen, no ding ding cooking thank god!! All prepared and presented with love and care. A varied menu is on offer with a huge range of GF and V options including cocktails, mocktails and a wine list from £ to ££££. There are 2 floor inside, both dog friendly including a 'humans only' area The kitchen is spotless and open to view from diners. Outside are tables from 2 - 10 pers, all dog friendly, a great sun trap on any day. Staff and service is friendly and hospitable. Overall, 9/10, on even a bad day ( not had a bad day yet BTW. ) Transport by train on the Manc to Sheff line, bus, cycle, walk or if you must, by car, is easy from anywhere. Ps: leave the car, enjoy the vino, either way, just GO !!

I visited Hathersage Kitchen for the first time yesterday and enjoyed the experience. My friend and I walked in for lunch, without booking, and were greeted by attentive servers and a relaxed atmosphere. Between us, we had waffles with bacon and maple syrup, fisherman's pie, and a piece of rocky road. The main dishes were attractively presented, well-flavoured, and offered good value for money. The rocky road we shared was, we felt, a little heavy on marshmallows and a little light on biscuit, but provided an appreciably sweet to end to the meal nonetheless. I recommend checking out Hathersage Kitchen if you're in the area, particularly if the weather is agreeable enough to favour outdoor dining - the garden is a delightful setting, with birds and butterflies making an appearance during our visit.

We had a great experience here. The chef came upstairs to speak to my mother about her unusual food intolerances, and helped us select a meal that could be adapted for her. (This is not possible everywhere!) The food was lovely and the service was friendly. Prices were reasonable enough for a touristy location. We sat inside but there's a large outdoor seating area, too.

We arrived in the evening and where greeted warmly and shown round. The campsite is a simple campsite in a beautiful setting. It has a washing up sink with drinking water in the field, There is a toilet and shower attached to the restaurant.It is within easy walking distance of Eyam. We arrived about 7.00pm and Stella kindly waited till we put up our tent and sorted our selves out then she put our take aways in the oven to make them piping hot for us. The food was also very nice. A lovely place run by lovely people

This was amazing, home cooked curries at their best. Set menu, which was lovely and second helpings if you can fit some in! Book ahead so your not disappointed. This place is not open all day, so always ask. We are certainly going again

I've been wanting to go to this place since I saw it on the Hairy Bikers and I was not disappointed. I went for an early lunch after a bike ride and had a fantastic mutton curry with incredible jollof rice. The curry itself was tasty and spicy without being hot. The hot sauce that was put to one side in a bowl was more than hot enough if you were feeling brave. The homemade non-alcoholic punch was beautiful. It was so nice that I asked what else they had that I could take it home, so I've got some more jollof rice and an incredible chicken dish. The place itself - and the views - make it even more special, as does the easy hospitality of Stella. There's nothing like this place and I'll definitely be back.

We stopped here for tea and cakes after doing a 4 hour hike we was made very welcome and the cake was delicious,

We stayed one night and we had dinner on site. This is a beautiful house in a very delicate English garden. From the moment we arrived, the staff looked after us, made us feel welcome and very special. We had an exceptional dinner with a 6 courses menu served at perfect temperature and with paired wines, recommended by the sommelier. The breakfast was also a beautiful experience in the exquisitely decorated dining area. 2 comments for this place to be really heaven on earth: . Sleep: the mattress was very very soft to a point we did not sleep well at all. It felt like we were sleeping on a waterbed, which is very uncomfortable especially after dinner. . The selection of champagne is very good, however £25/£30+ a glass plays the magic of the place down.

We ate in the restaurant, enjoying the 6 course menu. The restaurant is setup such that even when full each table still feels private. Service was unobtrusive but warm and professional. Food was excellent- fresh ingredients, good use of taste, colour and texture. A great meal, if slightly on the expensive side.

It’s clear why Fischer’s holds its Michelin Plate status—it’s a place where fine dining meets heartfelt hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed our recent weekend stay, for our special occasion. The staff were extremely welcoming, friendly, attentive and helpful. Our luxurious room was beautifully decorated and the bed very comfortable. All of our meals were delicious, and we were very impressed with the extensive wine list. Our whole experience was delightful, no doubt due to the great attention to detail that everyone has here. The fabulous grounds and gardens add to the serenity of this beautiful place. We are so glad that we chose Fischers and hope to return..... This is a truly special place ❤️

Absolute amazing pub. Incredible food - one of the best Sunday roasts I’ve ever had in my life. Jasmine served us and was v friendly, really went the extra mile - even got us custard from a local shop to have with some Bakewell tart. If you don’t go here you’re mad

Fantastic little find - staying on a local campsite, another pub on our route wasn’t dog friendly so continued onto here. Superb welcome, dog treats on the bar, beer is served well and a steak is on order. Will definitely return (probably tomorrow) A real nice pub - recommended

A very welcoming pub after 15miles walking up hill and down dale. The Bull was excellent and the beers, in particular, were well kept and local, with great food options for dinner. Rooms were a mix of of traditional and modern that were comfortable and ideal for tired walkers Breakfast was good local produce with the excellent in house bakery, including Bakewell pudding to add a treat to a walkers lunch. Really friendly and helpful staff made this a special stay, if only for one night.

The online table booking process was quick and easy. Although the pub was VERY busy, we didn't feel rushed and was given time to browse the menu over a drink. The staff were polite, helpful, and professional. It would be nice if therep were more menu choices for vegetarians, but what we ordered was delicious! Thank You

We popped by while on a mini break for some lunch today (me, hubby and the pooch). Dog friendly. The food was amazing, absolutely delicious 😋 (hubby had the rump steak, I had the seabass). The bar staff were so lovely and welcoming. It's a shame we don't live nearby as this would definitely be a regular on our places to go 😊🐶

Cosy place, the fireplace will make you feel like at home, traditional looking pub withe great food and nice drinks selection. Plenty of parking available and lovely staff

2nd visit to the area and this pub last night and once again can't fault it. Service is absolutely fantastic, greeted warmly, our dog was fussed over and welcomed, brought a water bowl. The food and drink is really tasty, well presented and a good selection. We will be back to camp nearby purely to go to this pub again! Popped in here for lunch, party of four plus two dogs. Very friendly staff, freshly cooked food and delicious desert. They had a vegetarian menu and doggy menu which were nice touches. I had the lentil and cauliflower pie from the specials board which was lovely. Will definitely recommend paying them a visit.

I come with my husband regularly cause we love it here brought two friends for lunch and they loved it the food atmosphere everything about it our waitress Clare was top notch very switched on and so welcoming she was lovely

Was a bit nervous about eating here as I was a bit worried it wasn't going to live up to the hype. Thankfully both the food, we both had different versions of the Sunday roast and the service was first rate. The only knock was we felt a bit jammed in, the price of popularity I expect, maybe a little pricey but quality costs, food was superb, my partners lamb was cooked just as she asked, I thoroughly enjoyed the food and our server was very attentive and efficient.

For years we've passed through Hathersage and seen the George, thought it looked nice but never called in. However, today we'd made a late lunch reservation and from the moment we walked in to the moment we left, we were glad we went. The restaurant is well presented as are the staff. The atmosphere was nice and the staff very professional. The food and drink was also spot on. All was of a good quality and cooked to perfection. The only thing I would say is avoid sitting in line with the front door in winter if the wind is in the wrong direction, you'll get a cool blast but the temperature soon returns to comfortable.

My first visit was an extremely pleasant experience because the staff are so happy and humourous and my coffee ☕️ was good. This establishment has a happy, relaxed and informal feel, just as it ought to be. I'm not surprised that it is so popular. This cafe is worthy of five star approval.

Stopped for coffee and cake. The cafe has a very pretty exterior and we sat outside. The cakes were excellent. We had a very enjoyable time.

Dropped in on a Sunday, without booking, and totally blown away by the atmosphere, friendly service, and amazing food. We had mackerel bruschetta, duo of beef roast, steak frites and the bakewell pudding. Would highly recommend and looking forward to our next visit. Thank you!! 😊

Was very pleasantly surprised by this place. We got there early on a Sunday and there was a warm and welcoming feel to the pub. I had the Sunday roast lamb which was cooked perfectly and accompanied by equally well cooked sides. The staff were helpful and talkative and overall it felt like a brilliant pub with some brilliant food to accompany it. Dog friendly too which is always a bonus!

Great breakfast with amazing gluten free bread rolls… to the point we had to double check they were gluten free! Good coffee. There was a mistake with our order which was sorted without fuss and we were given a free drink which was kind.

Spent a couple days in the area and this was my fave place to eat. As a vegan, I found good choices. Also impressed with the vegan breakfast being more than just a veggie breakfast with egg removed, which is what you get in a lot of places.

Incredible selection of delicious high quality home made cakes and cater for gluten free and vegan. Good range of vegan food options. Best cherry bakewell I've had in my life and a monster portion 😊 Will make a detour to go back!

Wonderful cafe with great allergy guidance and so many dairy free cakes! Will definitely go back and would highly recommend - the only thing is there aren't loads of tables so I imagine it gets quite busy!

We’ve drove past here a couple of times and yesterday decided to give it a go!! We were not disappointed!! Beautiful relaxing ambience, amazing food, excellent staff, super clean facilities and reasonably priced. Vicky was very helpful and friendly and couldn’t do enough for us! There was also an information centre with the history of Stoney Middleton displayed! Will definitely be coming back!! Highly recommended!

Lovely place for a snack or main meal, and the cakes / desserts are divine. It includes a little museum explaining the history of the area and some great old photos. It was a little chilly inside when we visited on a cold winter's day, but still a very pleasant experience.

Took my mum, aunt and wife for lunch, having been once before, for coffee, in the middle of winter. Food was good quality and all cooked fresh. Great service from the young lady called India. Will be returning without a doubt. Prices very reasonable when compared with other eateries nearby. One warning, you may get a sore neck looking at the floor which is of fabulous Middleton limestone crammed full of fossils.
