The best eating experience. The food was incredible from start to finish. Wine list is was outstanding. Staff were absolutely amazing. We ate everything and did not want to leave. Absolutely joyous. What a treat. We were there to celebrate our friends’ wedding anniversary and the food, service and atmosphere were spot-on for the occasion. Considering the quality of the ingredients and how they were presented, it was good value. Lee also made an appearance, serving the pre-dinner breads which were absolutely delicious. If you’re checking reviews for this place before deciding, GO THERE and support this excellent venture.

Went for lunch with a friend and expected something special- I wasn’t disappointed. Steak tartar and the steak were wonderful- very tender. My friend had asparagus and then hake. Possibly best food I’ve had for years and very nice service. Hugely recommend

Fabulous place to dine. Very friendly and attentive staff. All of the dishes we had were cooked to perfection with stunning presentation. Also well priced for the quality. Will definitely be visiting Piedaniel's again in the future.

Good food, came for a birthday treat. Quite formal, my only quibble is the seating for 2 were very close, so felt like you were looking closely at someone's dinner. All friendly though, so not too awkward.

We are not from the area but my partner took me here to celebrate my birthday. I wish I could give this place 10 stars. From the minute we walked in, we were greeted with amazing smiles and good energy from the staff. The place was absolutely beautiful!! The service was amazing and the attention to detail was immaculate, the staff were just amazing. The food!! Omg the food, from starters all the way to the desserts was just unbelievable. The quality of food was so good, I couldn’t believe it. My partner and I were very very impressed. We had an amazing night and will be definitely returning here in the future. It an experience anyone should experience to truly understand the high level of service and food they provide. They also had an amazing selection of wine, we were spoilt for choice. I 100% recommend this place.

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent weekend stay, for our special occasion. The staff were extremely welcoming, friendly, attentive and helpful. Our luxurious room was beautifully decorated and the bed very comfortable. All of our meals were delicious, and we were very impressed with the extensive wine list. Our whole experience was delightful, no doubt due to the great attention to detail that everyone has here. The fabulous grounds and gardens add to the serenity of this beautiful place. We are so glad that we chose Fischers and hope to return..... This is a truly special place ❤️

Visited Fischer's at Baslow Hall for an early valentine's dinner with my partner. Neil and the serving staff were great and very friendly. The service never felt rushed and we had a drink in the bar area before being shown to our table. My partner and I have eaten at a fair few fine dining/Michelin restaurants over the years but this was the first time we've booked the Kitchen Bench experience. Ant and his kitchen staff were all very professional and relaxed and were happy to chat, have a laugh and answer any questions we had. They explained the dishes and the processes behind them and it was interesting to see the dishes being assembled and 'coming to live' on the pass. We enjoyed a 9 course tasting menu with some of the highlights being the fish course (especially the Bouillabaisse which it was served with), the Mushroom Pithivier and Egg Custard Tart! We were both very pleased with the whole experience and would thoroughly recommend it. Thanks for a great evening!

We stayed one night and we had dinner on site. This is a beautiful house in a very delicate English garden. From the moment we arrived, the staff looked after us, made us feel welcome and very special. We had an exceptional dinner with a 6 courses menu served at perfect temperature and with paired wines, recommended by the sommelier. The breakfast was also a beautiful experience in the exquisitely decorated dining area. 2 comments for this place to be really heaven on earth: . Sleep: the mattress was very very soft to a point we did not sleep well at all. It felt like we were sleeping on a waterbed, which is very uncomfortable especially after dinner. . The selection of champagne is very good, however £25/£30+ a glass plays the magic of the place down.

First time here and a really positive experience. I reserved 2 tables as there was around 15 people in our group. Food was great, decor was lovely and service was good too. Will definitely be back!

One of the best coffee shops I have ever been to. And I have been to many! Great coffee, bought some beans. Food was excellent. Had the light Full English, great sausage. And atmosphere on a Saturday morning was friendly and chilled. Unfortunately it’s 1.5 hours away so not able to frequent. But if you are in the Peak District this is the place to head.

What's not to like. We were camping nearby and popped in most days. Great coffee from an independent coffee roaster; freshly baked bread and pastries; delicious breakfast cobs; Nice atmosphere inside a delightful old building with seating outside. Only slight quibble, they close Monday and Tuesday 😅

A gem and wonderful addition to this lovely community. We stayed in Youlgrave for a vacation and went to this lovely cafe a few times. The rolls are delicious, the pizza is genuinely some of the best I ever had and their full veggie english was delicious as well. Only advice: bring some time, the kitchen isn't big (not a bother to me personally to wait for a spell) and layer up, as the inside can get quite warm when it's full. Hopefully this wonderful establishment will stay around and one day invest in some better knives ;)

Absolutely wonderful country 'gastro' pub. Restaurant food in a friendly village pub. The staff mafe us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we entered. Goods ales from the local Thornbridge brewery and the food is to die for. Reserve a table regardless so you don't miss out. Highly recommend we will return. Thanks Matt for the anniversary drink!

A real gem. Good beer, great food - lots of choice. Excellent service. On the Saturday evening we visited, the pub was really busy with all tables booked and the bar full. The staff still had time for everyone, were friendly and helpful and completely unflustered. Special mention for Holly and Phoebe for great service! We will definitely be back.

A Cracking Night at The Packhorse! We recently visited The Packhorse, a charming little pub nestled in the heart of the Peak District, and what a fantastic experience it was! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was buzzing – loads of people, lively chat, and a super friendly vibe that made us feel right at home. Our group of ten had an absolutely brilliant evening, largely thanks to our incredible servers, Holly and Grace. They were genuinely outstanding! We had loads of questions about the menu and the area, and they couldn't have been more helpful. Their enthusiasm was infectious, and they truly went the extra mile to ensure we had an excellent night. Nothing was too much trouble, and they were more than happy to adapt dishes to suit individual preferences within our large group. And the food? Superb! Every single one of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The quality was top-notch, and the flexibility with dish edits was a real bonus. The Packhorse truly delivers on all fronts – great food, wonderful atmosphere, and exceptional service. We're already planning our next trip back! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a brilliant pub experience in the Peak District.

What a gem. I booked 3 weeks ago following a recommendation from ChatGPT. 5 days in the Peak District over half term with my daughter and this place wins hands down. Food fantastic and great June menu, we had the crab, and mackerel to start. My 12 yo daughter loved the soft shelled crab and was amazed at how it was presented. Followed by the loin and the pork belly. Wonderful. And to top it off a pint of Green Mountain for £4.80! Yes £4.80, under fiver. Can’t recommend this lovely traditional pub any more. A fascinating place to visit, if you love historic houses you'll love this place. Our visit coincided with a fabulous roaring log fire being lit in the Great Hall, and a wonderful choir singing in the long gallery. The gardens are amazing with far-reaching views. There was something of interest in each area of the building from the church, little museum, medieval kitchens and the whole house. The history talks were really interesting. Definitely recommend, however good to fair mobility is needed when visiting

Had a great day here in the sun, exploring the garden and various rooms of the house. It wouldn't have been my first choice of places to visit, but my wife really wanted to go, I was very pleasantly surprised. The rooms are varied with lots of features to look at, and the age of it makes it mind blowing how long ago things were from. Sections of the hall were from 1300s and 1400s with great pieces of timber for joists, stairs and even benches. The oak trees they grew from could have been from a further 500 or 1000 years before then, it is difficult for me to wrap my mind around that. The entrance fee was relatively steep given that it's a one time entry price. Many similar places allow you to return multiple times over 12 months for a similar price. However the building and grounds are well maintained. We spent a couple of hours there and took our own food, though there is a cafe/restaurant on site. A word of caution, almost every area is uneven and stepped, so be careful if attending with anyone unsteady on their feet.

Initially, I thought it was a bit pricey. But well worth the cost. What an absolutely stunning location. The history buffs will adore this house. But just a beautiful place to while away a couple of hours.

Had our wedding meal here on Saturday and Louise and the team went above and beyond ! As a new restaurant and being out of the country when organising I couldn’t have asked for more and instantly trusted Louise who was enthusiastic and completely understood what we wanted ! She was the best host we could have asked for! The food was impeccable - the chef is outstanding and absolutely nailed the menu! Thank you to the whole team ❤️

Amazing food! Was a quiet Monday night so was nice and quick service. Everything so fresh and very well presented! Will definitely be back when next in Bakewell Clam chowder, crab and pork belly to start. Couldn't pick the best between them they were all that good. Mussels and steak for mains. We had lunch at Charlie’s today, the previous reviews are very accurate. Menu had an Extensive range to choose from. Food fantastic, hot and well presented. Service friendly and impeccable . Great ambiance and certainly plan to return.

I was really surprised by this find, worth a detour from Chatsworth or other trips in the area to find great homemade food that feels a cut abovs the rest. It had the atmosphere of a cage but the food is that of a good bistro, with a substantial specials board. We struggled to make a choice as there was so much good food on the menu. For info: we made friends with Hettie, a placid and gentle dog who is nonetheless interested in everyone and their food. If you don't like dogs this might be an inconvenience.

Incredible hospitality even when closed! Every single person was unbelievably kind and welcoming!! If I am ever in the area again I will definitely love to try the tasty looking food just from the treatment of the lovely staff alone. Stopped in on the off chance, had aan Egg Mayonnaise sandwich, nicest I have tasted, with big chunks of back bacon, on granary, nice side garnish too. All the food looked good. Good menu something for everyone. And a lovely Labrador who greets you at the door checking you to your table.

Absolutely cannot fault this place. Gorgeous vibe and decor, friendly and welcoming staff team, and a brilliant menu. Very veggie/vegan friendly and a wide range of specialty drinks as well. I found it hard to choose a brunch dish as everyone sounded delicious. Everything is beautifully presented with generous portions. I would recommend you sit in the corner of the large window so you can enjoy the views into Bakewell while you sip your chai!

A lovely cosy cafe serving delicious food with Indian touch to it. The cafe has a warm vibe with friendly staff. There are variety of boards games available too to enjoy with friends/family. Their Punjabi Chilly Cheese toast, Chicken Cheese Panini, Amritsar Chicken Curry, Bombay nachos are a must try.

Had a lovely breakfast at Chakra lounge (Tadka beans on toast and the white chocolate and strawberry waffles with smoothie and masala chai). Food was absolutely beautiful, atmosphere great and staff could not be more polite and helpful. Will definitely return!

Stumbled upon this unique and quirky little cafe with absolute 10/10 food and drinks! They offer such a wide variety of choices and if I’m honest, we couldn’t decide at first as it all look banging!! In the end we went for: - Iced Matcha & Rose Latte - Hot Matcha & Rose Latte (not on menu, just ask them) - Mango Chutney & Chicken Salad Bagel - Open Smoked Salmon, Chilli Honey & Avocado - Bombay Nachos Highly Recommend coming to this place and just browse the menu! 👏 fire

Lovely place to stop and dine or just a cuppa and cake whilst passing through on our motorbikes. Friendly welcome and polite service, food and drink served promptly and was excellent. Cakes are delicious. Plenty of seating inside and out. Some places can be a bit selective or funny about visiting when riding motorcycles, pleased to say this one is friendly & welcoming, look forward to returning again soon. Thanks.

Always a lovely service here. Friendly and helpful. Very popular with walkers, cyclists and bikers especially at the weekend. Proper mug of tea made the way you want it. Great food menu from breakfast to sandwiches, panini's and lovely cakes. The location is perfect, right in the centre of Monyash and it's especially pleasant on a sunny day. Has indoor and outdoor seating as well. I highly recommend dropping in when you're out exploring this part of the Peaks.
