âWent here with wife and a couple of friends. Food was lovely as was the wine. Cocktails were also good. We did however have a 45 minute wait for a table that was booked weeks in advance and the service while waiting was pretty poor, which did take the edge off the overall experience. Did add a couple of photos of the food but I'd already started eating before taking photos because we were that hungry from the wait đâ

âHad a Sunday roast. Yorkshire puddings and roast beef were very good. No gravy with meal or horse radish. Had to ask for gravy and horseradish. Vegetables were very bland and uninspiring. Main course took around 25 mins to arrive. Sat by window which was quite chilly. Starter and dessert very good.â

âWe loved our weekend break at Lainston house. Special thanks to the team (especially Gerri - I think thatâs how to spell her name). She was wonderful and made us feel so welcome! We had dinner at the wellhouse and Avenue on different nights - the food was delicious on both occasions! Our room was spacious and comfortable; main downside is that it was in the furthest top corner of the hotel which made things tricky with a small baby. Next time, Iâll request a room thatâs closer to reception. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely love to visit again.â

âI continue to be impressed with Kyoto Kitchen. This was our fourth visit, and hopefully, it's not our last! I love how the menu changes and getting to try new things each time. Stylish, accommodating, and affordable.â

âWe enjoyed a breakfast here, the food was really good, fresh tasting ingredients and some great choices. I particularly enjoyed the smoked trout in a roll. The service was a little disjointed, food came before drinks and we had to ask for cutlery. We ate outside and the view down the high street was lovely to look at. Ordering was very easy in the hatch on the front of the restaurant. Would recommend for a meal out in Winchester.â

âWent on a Sunday evening for a 30th birthday. Service was brilliant the woman couldnât have been more professional. The food was outstanding some of the best meats I have ever tasted. Will definitely be coming to taste more of the menu! And that very good cocktail list! Food attached is a mixed izgaraâ

âHad a festive brunch with the ladies at the Stable Winchester, place is easy to find and was quite hectic. Second floor was quite nice and homey but not too keen on seeing the manager standing right in front of the kitchen staff looking rather stressed the entire time we were there. Rest of the staff were quite attentive and very friendly. Could do with more cocktail options and better mocktails.â

âWent for an evening meal! They squeezed us in on a busy Friday. The service was no less attentive! The food was delicious! I had the scotch egg starter and fish and chips main! The batter in the fish was to die for! The location is very contemporary and perhaps a bit crowded on a Friday night, noisy, but the ambience didnât detract from the food and service.â

âLovely decor and the staff were friendly. A shout out to the toilets for being stylish and very clean. Food wise, the starters were delicious, squid and arancini are definitely recommended but the mains left a little to be desired. However, the chocolate / celebratory bombe on the other hand was amazing and the staff even wrote us a sweet message. I'd go again to try other food from the menu and would try the afternoon tea or the cocktails. 4.5/5 + ÂŁÂŁÂŁâ

âCame for lunch on a week day, wasn't expecting too much but given the car park was nearly full and the pub was quite busy I had better expectations and I wasn't wrong, the team were friendly and helpful. They have a good range of beers and drinks, the wine was of a good standard too. The show stopper was the food, I had venison, my wife the chicken, both dishes were delicious, frankly I could have eaten anything listed on the specials board, we left very happy!â

âA traditional pub with lots of atmosphere so not a chain "trendy bar". Bar staff are always friendly as are the regular patrons. On one visit the bar staff were looking after an elderly lady who had been soaked in the rain. Seating around the bar is quirky, with old school desks and seats. Good range of spirits and hand pulled ales. Is very popular so can get very busy.â
