Real old school pub. Cash only. Limited menu. But what they do comes in BIG portions, and is delicious. Rare beef. Real stove. Book if you want to sit inside (winter). How pubs used to be before the chains grabbed the market.

Before you go you need to know one thing: it's cash only! A traditional little pub with emphasis on doing things the way they always have. And a total gem for it. Famous it seems for its outside toilet block opposite. I only knew the pub was there because of the beer glass on the OS map and it was right on the walking route. I was early, and by noon opening time a good queue was forming at the door, a lively crowd advancing in years and experience and ready for their lunch had descended from far and wide. Inside is small (though I didn't look in the "smoking room") with a smokey old fireplace, but it has quite a large garden, front and side. The two ladies running the place are super efficient and they take your order at the bar and pour it out of sight. No idea what the lager was but it hit the spot. The quiche was very good with a vast plate of salad and a hunk of bread and real butter. The giant plates of soup also looked fabulous. Heartily recommend. There's birds nesting in the roof above the outside seating and they're lively and active, flitting about. There's a zebra impersonator in the field opposite. They sell plants outside. Read the history on the laminated cards on the tables. It's far from modern, but if it never changes they don't mind and neither should we. Good luck to them.

Wonderful old pub. It was about five years since my last visit and I’m pleased to say it hadn’t changed a bit. Something that could probably have been written 100 years ago or a 100 years from now. Life moves at a different tempo at the Harrow. Anyway, the beer is great, there’s free crisps n dips on the table and a fire kicking out forge levels of heat. All in a lovely old room postively steeped in local history. The only new thing was the freshly written sign on the door that said “no children”. Looks like that’s renewed every week..!

Old worldly, quirky pub tucked away just on the edge of Steep near Petersfield. Simple but very hearty food. Definitely worth a visit, especially on a sunny day. Open fires add character to the ambience. Nice outside garden space. Cash only purchases.

Have ordered delivery, picked up takeaway and sat in and this is the solid curry place in the area. Curries taste different to each other (seriously an issue at other places) really lovely staff and so glad to have multiple vegan options with protein in them. Have tried some other local establishments and won’t bother any more, Spice Lounge is the best

Hands down the best curry house I’ve ever been to! The food is consistently amazing, with great quality and fantastic flavors. The team is super welcoming, always up for a laugh, and make you feel right at home. Service is quick, and the value on their offer nights is unbeatable. I visit regularly, especially in the winter, and it’s always a highlight of my week. Highly recommend!

Family meal on a wet Sunday. Our first time at the restaurant and were impressed. We all ate from the buffet and found plenty of variety and enjoyed everything. Staff were very attentive and welcoming.

Super tasty food, well worth a visit! Recently visited for dinner with friends and received a very warm welcome with lots of smiling staff to greet us, place was busy with lots of conversations and laughter, always a good sign. Our waiter was funny and had a laugh with us, which is always great But the food...The food was absolutely spot on! Delicious and tasty! Portion sizes were great, enough fill us all up and not over eat. Overall, this is a great experience. We'll be back for more.

We visited here as a family which included my nan who has reduced mobility. It was accessible for her to get in, the ground was a little uneven at the entrance but plenty of room inside and the toilets were easily accessible for her. The atmosphere was relaxed but it was lunchtime. Have previously visited for coffee and cake and it was equally as comfortable. You can eat inside or outside or in-between, there is a beautiful Koi pond and some grape vines covering the roof. As a parent I wouldn't want to take young children, I think from 10-11yrs up if they are well behaved. Not to come to the food...Sooo good. Having a small appetite I am particularly partial to tapas but this tapas was very nice with lots of flavour. The menu wasn't huge but I think there would be something for everyone. I would recommend the octopus or the mussels, I particularly liked the goats curd and truffle honey. I would allow £12-15 per head so not unreasonably priced.

Annie Jones just hosted 14 of my family for a lovely Sunday lunch. We had a few requests and the team were more than happy to help. The food and service were fantastic and I would thoroughly recommend.

Some of the best food I have eaten in a restaurant in a VERY LONG TIME. Not even joking, the food was insanely good. The pork was to die for and their carrot salad was just perfect. The beef and chiichuri was delicious and to be honest literally every single dish was the best it could be. The staff made us feel so welcome and were incrediblely friendly and the place just really had a fantastic atmosphere. I actually can't wait to come back to Petersfield and eat here again. Didn't get to try dessert as we were so full!!

We went for breakfast yesterday, really great atmosphere clean well presented staff are friendly one of the only dog friendly places to eat in town. Quality of food was great, portion size was excellent, drinks served well and reasonably priced. Definitely agree with a service charge, really worth it will visit again!

We went to ruby & Monty's kitchen for an evening meal and we weren't disappointed. I ordered the garlic prawn tagliatelle and it was full of flavour and very enjoyable. The restaurant itself is very modern and quirky which is very tastefully done. The service was fantastic. They serve a good selection of beverages both alcoholic and soft and there's plenty of parking nearby. There is a good selection on the menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as lighter meals.

Absolutely stunning place, atmosphere and general surrounding were to perfection. Service was amazing from two lovely ladies. Would really recommend this place for either casual coffee or even a lovely family meal! Food was to perfection and cooked exactly to my preference with no flaws, extremely recommended the Citrus Sea Bass. All round great.

My friends and I came here for a Sunday roast after a walk nearby and loved it. They had very good portions and the prices were reasonable too. Would’ve loved the potatoes to be crispier and the side vegetables to be roasted instead of boiled, otherwise, everything was fine. And they also allowed our dog, which was definitely a plus 😊

6 members of our extended family met at The Half Moon bar and restaurant today. We were served by a very polite and pleasant gentleman. Our meal was delicious and dessert yummy. The Half Moon is located by Petersfield in Hampshire and is an easy venue to reach for our group who lived within a 25-mile radius. Certainly would recommend.

Stopped by just for a snack at lunchtime…wow! My husband had the fish finger sandwich, which was amazing, I had a really tasty chilli jacket potato, which came with the most beautiful side salad, and really creamy coleslaw Fabulous food, lovely staff and great vibe. Thank you!

It seems like a lovely wine bar down stairs, nice staff and good little seating area out the front. My sister had here wedding upstairs and it was fantastic. Wonderful staff, beautiful room with loads of character. And the food that was put on my the Folly was excellent!! Highly recommended!

Outstanding first class service, absolutely nothing was too much trouble. Harry went above and beyond and we were and are really grateful especially given the reason for our stay. Excellent breakfast. I would only change the bread to a fresh sourdough. Everything else was absolutely fabulous. Great service as well. Will be coming back for a dinner as food is really promising. Not to mention the interior and the garden makes it the best looking gasto pub in the area. Well done!

A wonderfully welcoming spot right in the center of town with a warm fire, delicious beverages (both beers and the coffee is exquisite) and great food. The rooms as cozy and you really feel like the place has been there since the beginning of time. That said, the rooms feel fresh and clean and the beds are comfy. While currently not dog-friendly, we understand there's plans to bring some rooms online which would allow four-legged guests to be as welcome as the two-legged ones.

This was our second visit, both times have been a pleasure. It is small a cosy and feels like a family run restaurant. The delicious smells hit you as you walk through the door! The service is friendly and efficient, and the food is delicious. I highly recommend the mushroom starter! We will definitely go back again in the future.

La piazetta If you fancy some top notch Italian food in the Petersfield or surrounding area then La Piazetta is the place to come. Old style restaurant with low wooden ceiling beams it definitely has character. The menu is wide and varied catering for all tastes be it pasta, risotto, pizza, meat dishes etc. Everything that we ordered was delicious and the bill was reasonable too. Well worth a visit

Delicious!! Pasta and pizza is excellent. Highlight: Mushroom Risotto!!! We got the gnocchi truffle pasta which was to die for, and pizza which was totally delicious Recommend this highly, better than other pizza places in Petersfield, definitely worth a try. Lemon sorbet for dessert, refreshing and lovely

Food was as usual fabulous. Had the vegan bruschetta to start then tomato and spinach pasta. Very good food and wine. Only niggle was the restaurant was cold. Hopefully next time we will be seated in a warmer part of the restaurant.

Lovely spot right in town centre and over looking the square where we have our markets. They serve brilliant toasted sandwiches along with a fairly wide array of food and my personal favourite the burgers. One of the top end pubs of Petersfield with reasonable prices and a great environment. Very involved in the community and this is very evident in the staffs knowledge of customers and town.

Traditional pub in the middle of historic Petersfield. We had a great evening with live entertainment. Service from staff was first class.

Lovely place we've just discovered. The hot drinks and cake deal was excellent value, especially with the cakes being so tasty. The included shortbread bite was delicious as well

Couldn’t fault it! Staff were amazing, friendly and accommodating, especially friendly and fun with my daughter. The young lad that served us was very informative and gave brilliant service. Food was great at an amazing price. 2 courses after 5pm Monday to Friday for £14.95 (something like that). Location just off the motorway and easy to get too. Thank you!

What a fantastic hidden jem, just off the A3 near Petersfield, The Great Oak is a very pleasant place to eat, I visited on a Sunday, so the place was moderately quiet (about half filled), the staff were welcoming and friendly. My server Michelle was extremely nice and efficient. I ordered the rib eye steak, and it arrived at my table in good time. The steak was presented very well, and the taste was unbelievable it was seasoned to perfection. Well done to you all. Good job 👏

Food very good, had fish and chips. Our waitress was first class, friendly fast. The host at desk needs education in friendliness. Virtually empty restaurant, yet big song and dance about booking and availability. No eye contact, sullen, then sat us away in a corner in a pokey table with hard chairs. Management needs to have a word. Maybe recommend he irons his shirt
