āLovely one night stay yesterday. Fish & chips and roast beef for dinner were very tasty with good sized portions. Shared a waffle and ice cream for dessert, very nice. Comfortable room and good choice for breakfast. Staff were friendly and service good. Will back in the summer for a braai. Good undercover seating in the gardenā

āWe visited for the first time as we were in the area and looking for a main meal. There wasn't many reviews on this pub so we took a punt. First thoughts were great choice of food on the menu, so many delicious meals to choose from and great selection for the kids. The food was fantastic! We all thoroughly enjoyed it. Also they had a bookshelf with games and colouring for the kids which is a great touch. At first we commented how nice it was to have fresh water put on the table without asking, however they added Ā£3 onto the bill at the end for the water which is wrong, considering we didn't realise or get told this. That is the reason for the 4* and not 5. And also the fact dogs are allowed and a breed I am severely allergic to was sat on the table next to us, so we did have to hurry our food down to leave. Also we did say thank you and bye to the (what I assume is the landlady) and we were ignored.ā

āLunch out with an old friend after a funeral at the local church. The lovely girl behind the bar lifted our moods with her smile and friendly chat. We chose bacon and Brie ciabatta with a side of home cooked chips from the lunchtime menu. The Brie was thick and the bacon was lovely, thick slices and very generous in the portions too. The pub itself is modern and welcoming but still retaining the country pub effect. Would highly recommend a visit if youāre in the area.ā

āToday we had a family lunch at Blacknest Golf and Country Club, which was exceptionally nice. The staff were professional and attentive, the food was extremely nice and certainly tasted superb. Given the circumstances of the golf course renovation a real hidden gem well worth a visit. Mike Sā

āAlthough I didn't stay on this visit, I have previously and I love the place. This time, a birthday meal in the Stateroom at The Anchor Inn. The staff were great, really helpful, nothing too much trouble. The manager, Nadia, and her team were great at looking after us all. A table of 18. The food? Lovely! Great choice and everyone was delighted with what they got. The team at the Anchor also went out of the way to provide for options that we hadn't requested previously. Will definitely be back, as will some of our guests from what they said. Thank you, Thank you, Thanks you to the whole team at The Anchor for making our night so specialā
