Amazing meal, food was so well flavoured and beautifully cooked enjoyed every course definitely recommend going for a meal out food good price for what you get and the quality. Staff couldn't do enough and worked hard.

We popped in for a late lunch, the staff were very accommodating found as a table. The service was very prompt, and the food came out very quickly. There are a large number of options on the menu, and we decided to have the mixed Mezze. We will have added on some lamb meatballs with pistachios. The food was very delicious, and we really enjoyed the fact that they served all the dishes on different plates. Looking forward to our next visit and trying some different dishes.

Absolutely delicious. We popped in without booking on a Saturday lunchtime and they squeezed us in. Ordered a mixed platter (meat) for 2 and we weren't disappointed. Generous portions and variety, service was very good, also had baklawa which was incredible! Would highly recommend, and we want to try the mains next time, because other peoples dishes on their tables looked and smelled amazing.

Lovely evening with friends, food was amazing and live jazz music completed the dining experience. fair price for delicious food, would go again definitely worth a visit if you haven't been.

This place was great, went on a date night with the wife, this place was a recommendation from a friend, definitely worth it! Food was great, place is lovely, decor is fantastic. Only down side, which is purely personal it was way too hot (felt like the heating was on full blast) and my wife an I were sat at a table for two basically smack in the middle of the room with booths and bigger tables on both sides, which meant there was non-stop people and servers walking past at a very close proximity. Other than that, it was great!

Stunning food and interior at Turkuaz in Winchester! The vibe makes it somewhere you can go for a special occasion but the price is reasonable. Tasty food and good service. They also have good cocktails!

Went on a Sunday evening for a 30th birthday. Service was brilliant the woman couldn’t have been more professional. The food was outstanding some of the best meats I have ever tasted. Will definitely be coming to taste more of the menu! And that very good cocktail list! Food attached is a mixed izgara

New Year’s Eve luncheon for 7 persons. We’re able to get a table booking despite leaving it to 24-hrs in advance. Lovely historic pub. Friendly and attentive table service in the dining area (there are a couple of different dining areas in this large pub.) For visitors to Winchester and its cathedral this is a recommended venue. A traditional pub with lots of atmosphere so not a chain "trendy bar". Bar staff are always friendly as are the regular patrons. On one visit the bar staff were looking after an elderly lady who had been soaked in the rain. Seating around the bar is quirky, with old school desks and seats. Good range of spirits and hand pulled ales. Is very popular so can get very busy.

Really fabulous lunch. Glad I booked because even on a Tuesday it was full. Our waitress was amazing despite how busy the pub was. It is a wonderful eclectic mix and a step back in time with roaring fires, good beer and great food.

Lovely decor and the staff were friendly. A shout out to the toilets for being stylish and very clean. Food wise, the starters were delicious, squid and arancini are definitely recommended but the mains left a little to be desired. However, the chocolate / celebratory bombe on the other hand was amazing and the staff even wrote us a sweet message. I'd go again to try other food from the menu and would try the afternoon tea or the cocktails. 4.5/5 + £££

Absolutely fabulous place. Staff exceptionally attentive. Food excellent. Exceeded our expectation. Great atmosphere. A celebration of my 80th Birthday. Champagne Hi Tea.. One word; Amazing 👏 I ordered the roast and I was always sceptical because I love the old pub but was pleasantly surprised my only gripe was as i was eating I saw someone get the beef 😋 and got food envy 😅 nevertheless the roast was succulent, potatoes crisped to perfection and everything was moist and super tasty. Don't get me on the desserts. I could sit there and eat them all day. Sticky toffee pudding 🍮 is intense flavour on the mouth

The Ivy is a great place to eat with unusual food on offer. I had whisky barrel smoked venison tartare to start and goose, turkey, and duck shepherd's pie for my main. The staff were very attentive. My only complaint is the acoustics are very poor and we had to shout across the table in order to have a conversation. It is a popular place as it was packed on a Monday evening a week before Christmas.

Turtle Bay is always a great vibe, and I’m find the food and drink never fail to deliver great flavours. I’ve been several times over the years and I have always had an enjoyable visit. My recent visit was good, albeit the service was a bit slow and things did take quite some time. The food however was excellent, and I would highly recommend the Jerk Salmon - it was sensational. The cocktails are great, and if you catch them on 2-4-1 they are a bargain. The Reggae Rum Punch is always a winner. If you’re looking for some flavoursome food and good drinks, Turtle Bay is always a great shout.

Loved loved LOVED it here.....We booked in for the bottomless brunch (late afternoon) It wasn't that busy but still good atmosphere. The food was fabulous...the cocktails were nice and plentiful.What made our visit was our waitress Abby she was very attentive and friendly an asset to the team.

Our server Chris was very attentive, extremely polite and happy in his job. Which is lovely to see. He catered to all our needs. He is an asset to turtle bay. Good staff are very hard to come by and he is certainly a worth looking after. The food and drink were perfect 👌🏼 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A place filled with lots of bustles, happy hours with a good selection of cocktails. Sweet corn fritters were excellent but not for those who cannot tolerate spice.

Had a Sunday roast. Yorkshire puddings and roast beef were very good. No gravy with meal or horse radish. Had to ask for gravy and horseradish. Vegetables were very bland and uninspiring. Main course took around 25 mins to arrive. Sat by window which was quite chilly. Starter and dessert very good.

Came here on a Friday late lunch after enjoying a day in Winchester. They offer some good 2 and 3 course deals, but we had our heart set on the chateaubriand steak. We ordered this and the baguette with dips to enjoy while waiting for the steak to be cooked. The place is very spacious and nicely laid out, with an open plan kitchen upstairs. Staff here are very good. Our meal was very good paired with a good red wine as well. The only criticism is the mark up on the wine. But this is something that happens everywhere. Overall a brilliant late lunch here🙂

Rather noisy, but that's the way of most restaurants these days. Service excellent. Food very good, although carrot 🥕 too soft. Dessert was slightly disappointing as the description said, "Autumn Still Life", and was just like a painting on the plate with not much to eat.

We both chose to dine from the prix fixé menu (which also included a Botanist gin! ). Very reasonably priced for less than £20 for the two course option. I always look at the dessert option first - so I chose the treacle tart. For mains I had the couscous with aubergine and harissa. It was delicious - just the right amount of spice and very colourful. The tart (very generous portion !) with salted caramel icecream was really nice. All the staff were pleasant and friendly - our server in particular (didn't catch her name). Will definitely come back again when in Winchester.

Stumbled into this amazing restaurant/pub - the atmosphere was wonderful, food outstanding, the only thing that let it down and this is a biggie for me - the cutlery is super poor 😔. I mean 20p cutlery. The place is eclectic and food is served in plastic bowls or on plastic plates - there is some pottery - but if only some money was spent on the cutlery. I'd most definitely eat here again but I'd take my own cutlery with me 😊

Fantastic food - brilliant authentic Malaysian cuisine fused with other Asian influences. Have been a regular customer since opening and cannot recommend enough. The beef rendang is to die for and the breakfast rotis are genius! Regular changing seasonal menu offers great variety and makes me keep going back. The addition of weekend brunch with a mish mash of traditional English staples combined with roti is just amazing, and it’s great to see that they support and source from local producers. In addition, the service is fantastic - James and his wife have created such a brilliant atmosphere with a beautifully decorated old pub that keeps the informal pub feel - but still feels special enough to dress up and go out for a treat. Easily my favourite restaurant in the area - keep up the amazing work guys!

A fantastic surprise! From the outside, it looks like your typical pub, but this place is so much more. The food was absolutely delicious, with a menu that far exceeded our expectations. The ambiance inside is warm and inviting, and the staff were friendly and attentive. I highly recommend making a day of it and exploring beautiful Winchester, then capping it off with a meal here. Can’t wait to return!

The burgers were very tasty and well presented and the place is cosy and with a nice atmosphere. No issues with the person who served us who was friendly and pleasant but I witnessed another waiter clean a table that had just been vacated with only dirty napkins and nothing else. That's not hygienic! Hence the reduced score on service. Hopefully that was a poorly trained waiter rather than their cleanliness routine.

Great location for a deluxe / extra special burger. A step above normal ultimate burgers from other swanky bars and pubs. The burger is extremely large as well and most of the burgers come with a sweet potato fritter which the other people at my table were not a particular fan of as was overly large... I had the beef which did not include this and the taste was exceptional. Be prepared for the price mind as the burger with paprika fries is £16.5. oooouch. Good for a special burger treat once in a while. The restaurant itself is well appointed with views into the street in one aspect and to the rear you have the cathedral. Service was excellent and attentive throughout.

Such a lovely place for dinner. Highly recommend. We had such a warm welcome from staff on arrival. Seated immediately, we had a tight timetable due to concert in the cathedral. They squeezed us in quickly. The food was beautiful, all burgers with various sides. We enjoyed the chicken burger and halloumi burger. Both came with paprika chips. Really great food. Staff were all so friendly, especially our male server, he fantastic and helpful. Thank you for your kindness and welcome. PS. My daughter took me here for my 60th birthday present. On arrival the restaurant knew it had been my birthday a few weeks ago, but still wished me happy birthday. There were four of us eating and we all chose the gourmet set menu. The menus are being changed Monday so they will have new names. They asked us about food allergies. Two of us are gluten free and to complicate things I can't eat crustaceans. This was no problem to them and they adapted the food when ever necessary. The food was exceptional and the waiters took time to explain exactly how each dish had been prepared and what the ingredients were. The food came at a nice pace. When we had our penultimate dish, the Winchester Roll, they served this with fresh wasabi. The flavour of this was fantastic. I would certainly come back and eat here again. I really want to try their vegan set menu next time.

Had an absolutely wonderful birthday meal here. All the staff (especially our lovely waitress, Momo!) were incredibly attentive and the food itself was absolutely superb. If you’re looking for authentic Japanese food in a fancy (but not posh/snobby) environment then this is the spot~

A Taste of Japan in Winchester – Kyoto Kitchen I had heard about Kyoto Kitchen, and while I was in the area, I thought it would be a great opportunity to check it out! My daughter and I managed to book a table on the same day, which was relatively easy despite not being locals. Entering through the hotel, we passed by the bar area before stepping into the main dining space. The atmosphere was both summery and refined, with a unique layout. There was only one central pathway, giving the impression of entering a grand hall, almost like a castle. The tables were arranged on either side, and at the heart of the room stood a striking center piece—a large kimono - its presence commanding attention like a king in a courtroom. To my surprise, there was another dining area designed in the style of a traditional Japanese sushi bar, where guests could watch the chefs prepare fresh sushi. The delicate fabric dividers between the rooms reminded me of Japan, adding to the authenticity of the experience. I was seated in the banquet area, opposite a stunning vegetable art display spanning the entire wall. It created an incredible blend of indoor and outdoor elements, stimulating the senses in an unexpected way. For my meal, I ordered the Winchester Sushi Rolls, as recommended by the waiter. This dish featured fresh salmon, mango, cucumber, and seaweed, topped with goji berries and a horseradish sauce. The combination was delicate yet flavorful—refreshing with a perfect balance of sweetness and spice. I also had Wagyu Gyoza, garnished with edible flowers, which was incredibly fresh and beautifully presented. The service was excellent, and the entire experience truly transported me to Japan. Winchester is fortunate to have such a gem of a restaurant, and I hope they continue to support their talented chefs. This is a must-visit for sushi lovers and anyone looking for an authentic Japanese dining experience.

Fantastic choice of lunch venue. From placing a booking to leaving was perfect. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Everything we chose to eat was exceptional. Proper country pub home cooking at its best. Even the toilets were a pleasure to visit. Thanks so much for an awesome experience.

Came for lunch on a week day, wasn't expecting too much but given the car park was nearly full and the pub was quite busy I had better expectations and I wasn't wrong, the team were friendly and helpful. They have a good range of beers and drinks, the wine was of a good standard too. The show stopper was the food, I had venison, my wife the chicken, both dishes were delicious, frankly I could have eaten anything listed on the specials board, we left very happy!

We were passing through and stopped for lunch here. Wasn't expecting such an amazing burger! It was very thick, juicy and full of flavour. The fries were nice and crunchy and well seasoned. Daughters sausages were delicious too. Cost around 30 quid to feed the both of us including a beer so not bad value for money. Staff were fantastic, very friendly. Definitely recommend
