Brilliant new landlords! Went for Sunday lunch to see how the reopening of the pub had been, was pretty busy and unfortunately didn’t think to book but they managed to squeeze us in!! Had the pork roast, I think they called it porchetta, brilliant. Great food and great offers on ale and cider! Will be going back more regularly!

Unreal roast dinner, me and a mate got the chicken and sirloin roast and both thoroughly enjoyed them. Followed by the unreal “bowman brownie”. And to top it off a perfectly poured pint of Asahi and amazing service, all at an amazing price ! Great pub

Been a long time fan of The Hampshire Bowman and can comfortably say that the new owners have kept the rural independent feel whilst introducing a fresh and vibrant character to the place. The ales are crisp and dogs welcome. My only tip: call ahead! Even weekdays can be surprising busy so best to give them a call.

One of our favourites, this place never fails to deliver an all round excellent experience. With a cosy atmosphere, helpful & friendly staff, and last but not least authentic tasty food. I find it difficult after visiting here many times (and trying various different items on the menu) not to order the halloumi fries as a starter, and the Calabrese pizza as main; both are very good. Pizza is my favourite food, and this one ranks in my top 3 I've ordered from any restaurant, the chicken, pepperoni and spicy sausage are a perfect combination (ask for chilli as an additional topping if you want an extra little 'kick'). Portion sizes are generally very good for most dishes. As for desserts the options vary every time (listed on a small chalk board placed on your table), but the cheesecake is always very good, especially if it's the biscoff one! Amazing! Me and my friends have come a few times and it's always great, all of the staff are lovely and the pasta is delicious. Worth visiting!

After living in BW for a couple of years we finally tried Giorgio’s! Atmosphere was lovely and cosy, all of the food was delicious, and staff were really friendly. Will definitely be coming back to try more of the menu! Thank you 😁

My most favourite walk from Droxford to the White Lion along the river or the old railway path. Quick reward before heading back. Perfect in any weather.

Cute little pub with really lovely staff. The fish and chips did have quite a lot of batter but made up for it with generous ice cream scoops! Halloumi burger was delicious:)

Stopped in for a roast. Vegan wellington beautiful. Veg great. Good size portion. Lovely staff. The bonus was that the chef had even had a go at vegan Yorkshire pudding - not an easy thing to do! Definitely a thumbs up

Stopped for lunch after morning walk in Forest of Bere. Good beer, Flower pots brewery is local. Had Trout with spring green risotto and Haddock and Spinach gratin followed by Orange Bread n butter pudding with lovely custard. Menu was varied and above your typical pub fare, definitely will return.

Had two meals here now and both have been excellent. So much more than "pub grub". Whenever a restaurant doesn't offer you every dish known to man, you know that's a good sign! The best quality ingredients, cooked and presented beautifully. The staff are always friendly and polite and don't constantly ask "Is everything ok?"

Lovely country pub and very busy for a Tuesday night. Food was really good, I had two starters as a main. The sweet potato and coconut soup was delicious, followed by a crispy beef salad. Hubby had calves liver which was equally tasty. We found the service a little cold. Bar staff double up serving tables so they were busy. No one came to ask how our meal was and we had to get attention to order dessert and pay the bill. No one acknowledged us leaving. Having said that we would go back just for the food.

Came here as a big group for my brothers 40th. Food was lovely, I had the vegetarian wellington which was lovely and everyone else enjoyed their food too. Staff were friendly and had a laugh with the gentlemen serving our table. They have a huge garden with a play area. Highly recommend a visit.

Morris side's Christmas meal in January. Food was excellent, whatever choices people had made, it was well-presented, generous but not ridiculous portions, We ordered in advance from the menus available and had a seat plan of who would be seated at which table, which must have helped the staff, so there was no confusion about who had ordered what. Staff were helpful and friendly without being intrusive. They didn't seem particularly phased when two of the four tables of people started playing various versions of Fflux once the repast was demolished. It is always a pleasure to eat here. Everything is delicious and served at an appropriate temperature.

Attended for Sunday roast. There were four of us and the service was absolutely brilliant. The food came out promptly and there was plenty of it. It was also delicious.

Absolutely incredible for gluten free and vegan (the pudding in the photo was vegan but we also had a gluten free vegan sponge pudding!!) The Sunday roast was amazing, tasted beautiful, the side veg was sooooo good (totally different from your normal boring veg - cauliflower cheese, spiced veg and swede mash). The puddings out of this world. Service fast and friendly. Very covid safe and LOVE the female toilets complete with free feminine hygiene products/deodorant.

Great local pub - staff are always friendly - Land lord and Land Lady always make sure you are looked after whether it’s just a drink or you’re in for a 3 course meal. Bar is generally busy with a good atmosphere, and friendly locals and is dog friendly. Food is great, portion size is not over the top - but generally just right so you have room for one of their delicious puddings. Make sure you have a coffee - the home made chocolate that accompany the coffee are amazing. Aside from the main menu, the Bricks run a small menu of 2 or 3 dishes which change almost weekly which means there’s always something different. All in all a great local pub with good food and a team that cannot be faulted.

Great visit! We were given a warm welcome on arrival. Seated quickly. All staff were friendly, efficient, hard working and super helpful. Our meal was gorgeous and served fresh, well presented and very tasty! Out waitress Estela is wonderful. She has waited on me several times. Every visit, her customer service, work ethic and friendliness is consistently of a very high standard. She works so hard to create a wonderful guest experience.

Myself and my mother stopped off for a spot of lunch. The food was amazing as always and our server, Estela, was a delight. She was so attentive, welcoming and helpful. We have seen her here before and she is always such a friendly and lovely member of staff.

Visited Miller and Carter on Saturday night. Our waitress was Jasmine, she was lovely, explained our order, made allowances for my allergy. Really nice atmosphere. It was busy but the staff turned over the tables effortlessly. Would definately recommend to everyone and anyone. Food is amazing!!!

We came for a much-needed Date Night and had a spectacularly good meal. Jasmine was attentive and looked after my wife's capsaicin allergy with care and consideration. The food was faultless, everything from start to finish was incredible, even the basic elements had little flourishes that elevated them. Special mention to the red cabbage side, the festive bone marrow, and the Pannetone dessert We will be back soon!

Really lovely roast to end a lovely Sunday hike. Such a nice atmosphere and the service was great. We sat in the dog friendly area and really enjoyed our visit. The beef roast was delicious. My one disappointment was the amount of meat, there definitely could’ve been more!

This is a Great Pub. Great Food not too heavy. Staff was Very nice and Welcoming. Really nice to See Dogs as well. Chicken wings was nice with full of flavours. Loved the Slaw with kick to it. Pie of the day was really nice Steak and Stilton think it was. Happy to go back especially when it's the summer time.

We hired the pavilion for an engagement party yesterday and we had the most amazing day. The pub was accommodating and went above and beyond to make our day special! The staff were all super friendly and helpful. They stayed on top of glass collecting and keeping the party running smoothly. We ordered lots of pizza and it was truly incredible. The chef was super friendly and did an amazing job everyone said the pizza was some of the best they’d had. Couldn’t recommend this place any more, if you are looking for a party then look no further. Thanks to everyone!!!

This place is very cosy and has an outdoor seating area and a playground for the children. You have two choices: you can eat at the bar or at the restaurant. Very friendly staff. However, I would say that parking spaces are very limited.

This is probably the best Carvery in the South, and we have been to a few. We attended the Wickham food festival 🥮 and this was just somewhere we found to eat. It's so lovely inside and has lovely decor. It's a pleasure to be here. It was Sunday and it was very busy. We could buy a drink 🍷 🍻 and wait 🫷 outside. Nice outside area and warm 🥵 enough to dine out. Very soon we had our table in a very nice place. The queue was very long and soon we were at the hotplate and you can go left or right to be served. The team are very professional and friendly, I feel that they have all been properly trained as all staff were very attentive.. 🎂🍪 are to die for, my next trip will be dessert only. Best to go in the week when it's quiet and more cost effective. After dinner 🍽️ you can go on the adult sized swing. Top marks for the Forge. You can get a massive takeaway to.

I have visited The Forge a couple of times now and I am so glad of being introduced to this place! I am a big fan of roast dinners and The Forge have this every day of the week! The decor is beautiful, very Turkish inspired with the coloured glass and wood. Their new space is very light and spacious and the original space is lovely and warming. Plenty of seating and areas. Self service at the bar which is fine. You pay for your food then head up to the carvery. Queues can often be long so pick your day and time well and allow a bit of a wait if you go at peak times. The food is ample, the meat is perfectly done. The beef is so soft and falls off the joint. It's usually beef, gammon and turkey. Would love to see some lamb or pork on occasional days! Ample veg!! So much you are spoilt for choice! The plates are quite small so it always looks like your plates are overloaded but to get a choice of all the veg this is easily done. Gravy, perfect consistency. It is so nice to be able to come here with my little dog! This will always be my number one choice for a carvery for my whole family. Toilets are very big but cold. Access.. there are steps from the back which go down but at the front there aren't as many steps, so anyone that has access issues would be better coming through the front. Carpark is often over full. There are 2 little huts out the back and up the stairs for outside sitting/smoking area.

Came in for a carvery and it was amazing!! staff were lovely place was really nice food was perfect it was hot well cooked and the selection of veg and extras was amazing couldn't fault it will definitely be coming back soon Thanks everyone x

Had Sunday carvery here with 7 others today. Very busy and a long wait but food was very good. Apart from myself being a veggie. Meat free carvery was exactly that, no nut roast just given an empty plate at the meat section. Oh well, £4.00 cheaper I suppose. Would have been nice to have a veggie gravy but no, just 2 vats of beef gravy. Although vegetables were excellent. Oh. It was very busy so be warned, car park can be fun.

My first visit. Loved the atmosphere and the decor. Very pleasant. No long wait for food which was really appreciated. Good service, and also an extensive menu. 4 courses for £20 each which allowed us to sample from each part of the menu. Served by Steff. Thank you to her.

I ordered from the Gluten Free menu. A great choice and very reassuring that what I was eating was suitable for my dietary needs (Coeliac). All meals on the table were beautifully cooked and well presented. Service from Michelle was amazing, attentive, polite and friendly. Michelle took our orders and checked that everything was satisfactory during the meal. Professional service from Michelle throughout the duration of our meal.

First time my wife and I have visited. We have allergens which can be quite challenging to find somewhere where we are not made to feel like a burden. Sofia was absolutely fantastic, making sure we had the right information for the food we wanted. Nothing was too much trouble and she was very friendly and helpful. Sunday lunch with family. Warm welcome at the Barleycorn, friendly staff… and dog 🐶 friendly. Proper straightforward tasty Sunday roasts for most of us….. very tasty and very generous helpings… piping hot and plenty of gravy. Choice of sweets and coffees to finish off. Very good value for money, strongly recommend, booking essential. We’ll be back…. for the crumble and custard 👍👏👌😊.

A lovely late lunch today, nothing was too much trouble and service was fantastic from a really great young man. Such a warm welcome, served at our table. I loved the atmosphere. Such a friendly place! Would not hesitate to visit again on a Sunday for a roast. It would be so worth the hours journey. Thankyou for making our visit to Bishops Waltham such a great one!
