āMy wife and I came to the Three Tuns for Sunday Lunch today, 23rd February 2025. We both chose the roast chicken. It was absolutely superb/delicious/scrumptious even..11/10. Portion size was perfect as was the contrast between the rainy February day outside and the cheery log fire inside! A big 'well done' to the landlord and all his team! Thank you very much.ā

The Sun Inn

Phone: 01794 512255
āA family Christmas meal for 15. Often difficult to speak to a human being nowadays to try and book a table! The Sun Inn could accommodate us and easily booked through a friendly member of staff. The pub was very festive, a great evening with all the family, the staff could not do enough for us. A lovely 3 course Christmas menu, very reasonably priced. If was a pleasure to see a local pub with lots of events, music, quizzes etc, we will definitely be back š„°ā

āDecent food, very good value for money. Don't fill up on too many starters, you can order as many dishes as you want for the set price. You can always switch back to starters after your second course if you want. Smoked chicken and Prawn toasts were the highlights, loved the chef special pork chunks. Vegetable curry and tofu in black bean both good. The duck was the main dissapointment, it was very dry. Service was very friendly.ā

āWe stayed one night at The White Horse and it was a very enjoyable experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was very comfortable and clean, and the food was good quality, tasty and well cooked. The building has an interesting history and it is situated right in the middle of the town so extremely convenient for local amenities and places of interest.ā

Kimbridge Barn
Kimbridge, Romsey SO51 0LE, UK
Phone: 01794 339444
āI was treated to an afternoon tea at Kimbridge Barn by a wonderful friend in March 2024. What an experience. We were seated in the window in the sunshine. Staff could not be more attentive and friendly. The food was delicious. The scones were huge - the size of a large mango - but beautifully soft & delicious and served warm. The sandwiches were scrummy, the ham hock mayo my favourite. The sunshine melted the sour cherry chocolate bar as we werenāt paying attention! It too tasted wonderful. Will definitely come back when the weather warms up. The package included unlimited teas and americano coffee. Would have been nice to include one special coffee like a latte for the price, but small niggle.ā

The Old House at Home

āI recently had the pleasure of dining at The Old House at Home in Romsey, and it was an experience to remember! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a cozy, inviting atmosphere. The rustic charm of the place, combined with its modern touches, made for a perfect setting. The menu offered a delightful array of dishes, each more tempting than the last. I opted for the roast lamb, which was cooked to perfection ā tender, flavourful, and accompanied by the most delicious gravy. My partner chose the fish and chips, and it was hands down the best weāve ever had. The portions were generous, and the presentation was top-notch. What truly set this place apart, though, was the exceptional service. The staff were attentive, friendly, and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. They even took the time to chat with us about the history of the pub, which added a lovely personal touch to our visit. To top it all off, the dessert menu was a dream. We shared a sticky toffee pudding that was simply divine ā the perfect end to a fantastic meal. If youāre in Romsey and looking for a place with great food, wonderful service, and a charming atmosphere, look no further than The Old House at Home. Weāll definitely be back!ā

The White Horse

āVisited The White Horse following a Google trawl for a place for dinner during our weekend at Paulton's Park. Lots to choose from but settled on this pub as it looked like a true pub. Very pleased we did. The menu was extensive (and then some) with lots of pub classics, winter warmers, fish dishes and an array of fab sounding curry choices. Enough to keep someone coming back for months! The children's menu was also very decent. The service was efficient and welcoming and the pub had a real old fashioned drinking pub atmosphere (but with food as a key element). Have noticed some reviews staying service was slow, but we were booked in for 6pm and had no such issues. We were very impressed. However, when it came to us leaving some tables had been waiting for a while so perhaps service can be slow at peak times. I wouldn't complain about this though as food of this quality takes time! Plus it gives you time to have a other beer!! The 'toad in the hole' was fantastic and the sticky toffee pudding was amazing. Our girls also happily put away the children's offerings and a pudding too. Would happily revisit, but unsure when we will be in this neck of the woods again. Will however be highly recommending this to those we know in the Southampton area.ā

āNice cozy Pub, with a warm inviting look & feel. Food is classic pub fare, and it is done well. Didnāt find much in the way of dairy-free dinner kiddie meals, but to be fair the chef went out of her way to accommodate. Service excellent and has nice outside booths with heated lamps for the chilly nights. Great spot and Pub.ā

āNaughty weekend without the kids. The Mrs loved coming. We popped into the city centre for a few beers and some food. She got a bit frisky and wanted to come in the pub again. We were teasing each other on the taxi back so quickly came in the pub toilets before we grabbed a drink and then came upstairs. Things got a bit heated in the bedroom and we couldn't decide if we were coming or going. Eventually agreed to both just come and ended up coming all night long. Great stay. Would love to come again.ā
