Saturday I had Chicken snitzel and my wife had the Haddock we both enjoyed the food. We returned on Sunday I had the Bacon belly and my wife had the scallops we both enjoyed so much so that I said complements to the Chef. Wonderful food. Good atmosphere and a craft shop too.

Went on a Monday and got the vegan full Kimbridge - it was lush! The only “criticism” is that I’d have liked 1 more hash brown because they were perfection and there was waaaaay too much butter lol. But we will definitely be going back. The courgette fritters were fried to perfection. Great atmosphere, lovely location and the staff were very accommodating!

Found this place by chance after camping in the New Forest for the weekend. 100% recommend, a great menu and yummy food. I had the chicken and waffles and it came with a generous helping of maple syrup. The only thing I would change is serving the syrup on the side. I also had one of the best chai lattes I’ve ever had. Our dogs were made to feel welcome and were given treats by the staff. Thank you so much for a lovely breakfast!

Great brunch place, excellent coffee and all the food is sourced locally which I love! The boot room is especially cosy for coffee and cake on a cold miserable day with its nice fireplace. Only downside (which isn't their fault) is it gets very busy at weekends so do book on advance to avoid disappointment as this has happened a couple times to us.

I came here for lunch with a friend for his birthday, we both had the Asian Chicken Burger which was really tasty. Really lovely bar and waiting staff, couldn’t have done more for us. The pudding was the star of the show and absolutely divine!

Having lived in the area for a few months, this is the first time I visited, and it was AWESOME! Really dog friendly and I was made to feel very welcome from the second I walked in. The breakfast was delicious and I’ll definitely be back regularly after a dog walk for a weekend brekkie! Thanks again and the place looks great! Absolutely love the ceiling!

A family Christmas meal for 15. Often difficult to speak to a human being nowadays to try and book a table! The Sun Inn could accommodate us and easily booked through a friendly member of staff. The pub was very festive, a great evening with all the family, the staff could not do enough for us. A lovely 3 course Christmas menu, very reasonably priced. If was a pleasure to see a local pub with lots of events, music, quizzes etc, we will definitely be back 🥰

Back in the Summer, they did the most amazing risotto, actually the best I’ve ever had, I kept coming back for more. Service is good as well. They were polite, and they made a fuss of my dog. Good pub all-round!

My wife and I came to the Three Tuns for Sunday Lunch today, 23rd February 2025. We both chose the roast chicken. It was absolutely superb/delicious/scrumptious even..11/10. Portion size was perfect as was the contrast between the rainy February day outside and the cheery log fire inside! A big 'well done' to the landlord and all his team! Thank you very much.

Absolutely delicious burger and chips. Staff were very friendly and helpful, pointing out the gluten free options on the pudding menu. Food came out quickly and couldn't fault it. Two clean plates. Would thoroughly recommend 🫶🏼

A friendly warm welcome in a lovely cosy room, unfortunately the car park is fairly small. We chose the one item that was not available on the menu that day which was a shame. We did however enjoy our burger options but we were after something special as it was a birthday treat. My husband enjoyed the real ales on offer. We will definitely be returning.

As a wedding photographer, I always enjoy working at The White Horse Hotel in Romsey. We had an absolutely fantastic Sunday lunch at this lovely hotel. It was beautifully presented & delicious. The service was excellent. It was faultless. We will definitely be dining there again.

We stayed one night at The White Horse and it was a very enjoyable experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was very comfortable and clean, and the food was good quality, tasty and well cooked. The building has an interesting history and it is situated right in the middle of the town so extremely convenient for local amenities and places of interest.

A Hidden Gem with Six-Star Service This hotel is a true find! The location is absolutely perfect, nestled in the heart of a charming and quaint town. From the moment we arrived, I was blown away by the exceptional service – it honestly felt like I was staying in a six-star London hotel. MY room was beautifully appointed with every detail carefully considered. It was clear that a lot of thought had gone into creating a comfortable and luxurious space. And the breakfast? Forget tired buffets! Here, you order off a menu and are treated to a truly delicious and satisfying start to the day. Honestly, I can't recommend this hotel enough. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway with top-notch service and a beautiful setting, look no further. You'll be hard-pressed to find a better place to stay.

Decent food, very good value for money. Don't fill up on too many starters, you can order as many dishes as you want for the set price. You can always switch back to starters after your second course if you want. Smoked chicken and Prawn toasts were the highlights, loved the chef special pork chunks. Vegetable curry and tofu in black bean both good. The duck was the main dissapointment, it was very dry. Service was very friendly.

Really decent food and customer services. Though sometimes I arrive early for collection, the staff accompany me well and we had great conversations. The food are authentic Chinese dishes from south east China and would recommend this. Have been going to this restaurant for a long time now, definitely worth trying and am still confusing about why some reviews are not great.

Recommend booking to eat in house over taking away, as the difference is night and day. Lovely selection of dishes, and appreciated that you could order as you go. Would visit again.

We were up on a weekend break & looked at reviews of local eateries. We were not disappointed with choosing to go here. The staff were friendly & accommodating & the food was lovely. Jeff the cat topped it off. I would not hesitate to return here on another occasion. If I was to be fussy my only negative would be that it was a bit chilly. But that is being really critical.

This place is a fantastic old school pup/restaurant. As soon as you walk in the door there's a lovely open fire and you can almost smell the history in the place with the ghost of the past travelers easy to see 😉 But it's not the building or the wonderful atmosphere that's the talking point. This place is all about food. ( The menu is seasonal and subject to change) All the food is cooked fresh from an extensive menu that caters for all. There's a Monday to Saturday menu of multiple choices and for anyone with an appetite I would highly recommend you try the ribs or if you get the chance the belly pork. The curries are all authentic and some really pack. a punch. The clam chowder from the starters Is off the chart.The Sunday roast is without a doubt one of the best you'll ever have from a pub/restaurant. The two landlords john and Gaye have been at the establishment for well over a decade John is the head chef and a lovely man who will mingle when he eventually gets a break from the kitchen. And Gaye is front of house making sure the whole thing runs like clockwork. lovely little gem hidden in the heart of Hampshire this place is well worth a visit for its food and its lovely warm atmosphere. The portions are ALL very generous so you'll go in hungry and come out happy 😊 They do have disabled access ♿ and cater for all.

Absolutely loved this pub. Great friendly owners and staff with REALLY good food. We ate there Saturday night and had a delicious authentic lucknow curry and went back on Sunday for what was one of the best roast dinners I’ve had.

What a super pub, very modern with all amenities. Our room had a lovely comfortable bed, shower room, with no leaks,as is the usual case. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had an excellent meal in the restaurant, My belly pork was very tasty with plenty of veg. Lastly the car park had plenty of spaces for guests. Many thanks

Review of The Duke on the Test I recently visited The Duke on the Test, and it was a really enjoyable experience. Food: The food was fantastic—each dish was well-prepared and full of flavor. I especially liked the seasonal specials; they were both creative and delicious. You can tell the chefs put thought into what they serve. Staff and Service: The staff were a highlight of the visit. They were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. It felt like they genuinely wanted to make sure we had a great time, and their recommendations were spot on. Ambiance: The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. The decor is nice, making it a comfortable spot for a casual meal or a special occasion. Overall, The Duke on the Test is a great place to eat, with tasty food and a friendly vibe. I look forward to going back!

First time visited here. Lovely menu choice, I had the Thai red curry it was delicious as was the dessert of Hazlenut chocolate tart. Staff were extremely courteous snd polite.will definitely be coming back and recommending you to friends and family.

We had a small group of friends enjoying a Christmas menu. We pre-ordered the main course from across the menu and ordered starters and puddings during the meal. Wide selection of wines beers and soft drinks. Excellent food Terrific service Very enjoyable pub restaurant. And the cost for 8 was very reasonable worked out at £50 per person incoming all drinks and three courses. Thanks for making our meal just right.

Went Southampton to visit relatives & they brought us to this French restaurant in Romsey (about 20 mins drive from Southampton) for lunch. Love the wine! The red wine tasted so fine & smooth 😋 and the food too are very well prepared :-) The dessert is a bit sweet though… We went on a Friday afternoon, & it was not crowded so really had a good time there :-)

Probably the best dining experience in Romsey. Authentic menu, the chef and staff are mostly French, including the owners. I’d recommend the fillet steak, it’s giant and cooked perfectly. Don’t be afraid of the snails, they taste great and you wouldn’t know what they are. No frogs legs unfortunately. The starter and salads are larger servings than you would expect. At the end of your meal ask for the espresso martini with your pudding, you won’t be disappointed. Free parking in private rear courtyard, (spaces are limited), but lots of other paid parking just outside the rear gates.

It's very flamingo pink and loads and loads of flowers all over the place. The waiter was good and the service speedy. Great cocktails, didn't taste too strong, that were freshly made and tasty. At nearly £9 a cocktail its a place to think about drinking at but great for a gathering. Food is Italian in style but I didn't eat so I've no idea how good it was at all, but those around us seemed happy with it. The best bit us the design of the seating as most tables seemed to be tucked away and gave a sense of privacy. The music was pitched just right so it covered construction around but you could hear what each other were saying, so perfect. It's an interesting place to go to and I definitely would return with my friend for a pitcher of cocktails (I think it was about £18 per pitcher which gives about 3.5 cocktails) but I'm not sure I would go for a romantic evening with my partner.

Came here with a friend for a celebratory meal / drink. The waiter we had was funny but a little too enthusiastic it seemed fake, he also leaned over my shoulder without saying anything to take something from the table which I found quite unprofessional. The food took a while to come out, was hot and tasty. The cheese garlic bread is SO GOOD! The atmosphere was quiet which was nice, cute decor too. You could smell the Indian nextdoor pretty much throughout the resturant. They do put a service charge at the end fyi. 50/50 on returning.

A very nice evening out. Food was excellent as was the service. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We loved the layout and atmosphere and will be returning. The only downside was that they do not sell coffee which we always have after a good meal. Also note that a 10% service charge is automatically added to the final bill. This is happening more and more in restaurants. I think it should be up to the customer to decide how much, if anything to tip.

We went here today for lunch. We were greeted by friendly staff and were able to choose our own table. The food was incredible. The flavours were absolutely delicious. I had the burger and had to ask chef what was on the bottom bun. It was home made onion chutney 😊 I can’t describe how good this was. Please see photos. My friend had steak which was cooked to perfection and my other friend had the fish and chips. Which once again was delicious. I highly recommend this little hidden gem.

Nice cozy Pub, with a warm inviting look & feel. Food is classic pub fare, and it is done well. Didn’t find much in the way of dairy-free dinner kiddie meals, but to be fair the chef went out of her way to accommodate. Service excellent and has nice outside booths with heated lamps for the chilly nights. Great spot and Pub.

A superb quality meal served with a smile in the most congenital of surroundings. Would love to have this as my own "local" but the food is worth travelling for.
