I seriously debated this review, now we have found it I'm not sure I want everyone to know about it. Without a doubt now my favourite cafe hideaway in Hampshire. The food was spot on, the coffee was the way I love it and the service was friendly and welcoming. Go here, tell some people :D

Have to say, best breakfast I’ve had in a long long time. If I’m down this way again il be sure to stop here again.

Found this place on Google Maps after travelling home from Southampton last week. I had the Full English Breakfast, and it was great. The only issue was that it was a very hot day, so it was very warm in there, and I wondered why they didn't have the air-conditioning on 🥵

Super friendly staff, good quality food and fast service. Nice and clean cafe. Coffee is thumb up, Milkshakes are fantastic. Well recommended. A+++++

What a hidden gem! I don’t often leave reviews, but this place truly deserves recognition. We visited Romsey for the first time yesterday and, by chance, stumbled upon the Cork & Bean. We stopped for a drink, and the attention to detail and wine knowledge was outstanding. It impressed us so much that we decided to return for dinner—and I’m so glad we did! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We opted for the cheese and charcuterie sharing board for two, and it was absolutely delicious—truly a standout experience. It’s a real shame we live an hour away because this place has quickly become my new favourite venue. Whether you’re after coffee and cake, wine, or pizza, the atmosphere and overall vibe had us buzzing with excitement. We’ll definitely be back, most likely with the kids in tow next time, but the passion and love behind this little haven really stood out. Well done to everyone at Cork & Bean, and thank you for making our child-free night away so memorable!

Lovely venue with wide range of brunch dishes. The sourdough, smashed avocado & poached eggs was generous. But egg whites & yokes were not cooked as whites slimey near yokes. I didn't complain but would if happens again. Deserve a 2nd visit as very busy so could of been a one of. My friend had eggs benedict & were OK.

An incredible place - the best cheese scones since cheese scones were invented, and a host of other tasty things to have with a good coffee! Customer service goes beyond great… if you sit outside in the cold there are infra red heaters, hot water bottles and blankets to keep you toasty. Inside is great too. Even the toilet has piped tropical birdsong and a nice aroma. How’s that for attention to detail? I enjoyed a long and enthusiastic conversation with the chef/owner about his exciting plans to trial Sunday roasts. A richly deserving recipient of my “Go there at once” award :-)

The owners were so lovely and entertaining and their team are all warm and friendly. I think the hands on approach by the owners maintains a consistent high standard of service. It's their baby and they are rightly proud of it. The food is excellent ( for vegans and vegetarians too.) It's a buzzing atmosphere- not a "quiet coffee" kind of place. I recommend booking because everyone is discovering this place now and it's generally busy. The coffee is also excellent too. They allow well behaved dogs and even have a dedicated menu of dog treats. The outside areas are well sheltered with heating so lovely all year round. Pricing is really sensible for good quality food and drinks.

We visit every few weeks for a Sunday roast, one of the best we've had. Food is amazing, staff and service are fantastic. Dog friendly as well and just a great atmosphere for a nice Sunday afternoon.

Absolutely delicious burger and chips. Staff were very friendly and helpful, pointing out the gluten free options on the pudding menu. Food came out quickly and couldn't fault it. Two clean plates. Would thoroughly recommend 🫶🏼

A friendly warm welcome in a lovely cosy room, unfortunately the car park is fairly small. We chose the one item that was not available on the menu that day which was a shame. We did however enjoy our burger options but we were after something special as it was a birthday treat. My husband enjoyed the real ales on offer. We will definitely be returning.

My wife and I came to the Three Tuns for Sunday Lunch today, 23rd February 2025. We both chose the roast chicken. It was absolutely superb/delicious/scrumptious even..11/10. Portion size was perfect as was the contrast between the rainy February day outside and the cheery log fire inside! A big 'well done' to the landlord and all his team! Thank you very much.

Having lived in the area for a few months, this is the first time I visited, and it was AWESOME! Really dog friendly and I was made to feel very welcome from the second I walked in. The breakfast was delicious and I’ll definitely be back regularly after a dog walk for a weekend brekkie! Thanks again and the place looks great! Absolutely love the ceiling!

A family Christmas meal for 15. Often difficult to speak to a human being nowadays to try and book a table! The Sun Inn could accommodate us and easily booked through a friendly member of staff. The pub was very festive, a great evening with all the family, the staff could not do enough for us. A lovely 3 course Christmas menu, very reasonably priced. If was a pleasure to see a local pub with lots of events, music, quizzes etc, we will definitely be back 🥰

I came here for lunch with a friend for his birthday, we both had the Asian Chicken Burger which was really tasty. Really lovely bar and waiting staff, couldn’t have done more for us. The pudding was the star of the show and absolutely divine!

We had an absolutely fantastic Sunday lunch at this lovely hotel. It was beautifully presented & delicious. The service was excellent. It was faultless. We will definitely be dining there again.

We stayed one night at The White Horse and it was a very enjoyable experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was very comfortable and clean, and the food was good quality, tasty and well cooked. The building has an interesting history and it is situated right in the middle of the town so extremely convenient for local amenities and places of interest.

Just had a spontaneous dinner for a Sunday evening. Great standard for a late roast and both plates executed superbly. Faultless. One of the best places around which often gets overlooked imo. Always friendly staff and atmosphere just lovely.

A Hidden Gem with Six-Star Service This hotel is a true find! The location is absolutely perfect, nestled in the heart of a charming and quaint town. From the moment we arrived, I was blown away by the exceptional service – it honestly felt like I was staying in a six-star London hotel. MY room was beautifully appointed with every detail carefully considered. It was clear that a lot of thought had gone into creating a comfortable and luxurious space. And the breakfast? Forget tired buffets! Here, you order off a menu and are treated to a truly delicious and satisfying start to the day. Honestly, I can't recommend this hotel enough. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway with top-notch service and a beautiful setting, look no further. You'll be hard-pressed to find a better place to stay.

Our first visit was a delight! Just stumbled on the Rockingham as a half way point to meet friends and we had a great time. Really super lunch with fabulous food and very relaxed which we truly enjoyed. And then a very relaxed amble along the tracks beind the restaurant ... wonderful. Until next time, thank you all.

Walk in on a Sunday and was accommodated very easily. Sunday roast was lovely (it is not often my husband clears his plate - but he did here) staff are very polite and professional. Will definitely be back for goatfest

This place is beautifully styled, and the food was lovely. The atmosphere was fresh, bright, and relaxed. Even the restrooms were spotless and well-designed. The dishes were served with great care, and the chef did an excellent job with each one. This place is worth visiting, and I'm happy we chose it.

Good atmosphere and seating with very good staff and service. Food was to a high standard and arrived quickly with a wide choice on the menu. Reasonably priced.

The service was amazing and very friendly. The food tasted lovely, my only issue was I think the veg portion was quite a bit smaller than other local places for roasts, only one of my potato’s were crispy, and not much gravy is served- although you can ask for more for the table. But, that’s my only negative! The sticky toffee pudding was also delicious.

After reading the reviews, I decided to try this place, and the food was delicious, and the service was excellent and quick. We didn't have a booking, but they quickly set up a table for us. I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Old House at Home in Romsey, and it was an experience to remember! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a cozy, inviting atmosphere. The rustic charm of the place, combined with its modern touches, made for a perfect setting. The menu offered a delightful array of dishes, each more tempting than the last. I opted for the roast lamb, which was cooked to perfection – tender, flavourful, and accompanied by the most delicious gravy. My partner chose the fish and chips, and it was hands down the best we’ve ever had. The portions were generous, and the presentation was top-notch. What truly set this place apart, though, was the exceptional service. The staff were attentive, friendly, and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. They even took the time to chat with us about the history of the pub, which added a lovely personal touch to our visit. To top it all off, the dessert menu was a dream. We shared a sticky toffee pudding that was simply divine – the perfect end to a fantastic meal. What a super pub, very modern with all amenities. Our room had a lovely comfortable bed, shower room, with no leaks,as is the usual case. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had an excellent meal in the restaurant, My belly pork was very tasty with plenty of veg. Lastly the car park had plenty of spaces for guests. Many thanks

Review of The Duke on the Test I recently visited The Duke on the Test, and it was a really enjoyable experience. Food: The food was fantastic—each dish was well-prepared and full of flavor. I especially liked the seasonal specials; they were both creative and delicious. You can tell the chefs put thought into what they serve. Staff and Service: The staff were a highlight of the visit. They were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. It felt like they genuinely wanted to make sure we had a great time, and their recommendations were spot on. Ambiance: The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. The decor is nice, making it a comfortable spot for a casual meal or a special occasion. Overall, The Duke on the Test is a great place to eat, with tasty food and a friendly vibe. I look forward to going back!

We have been for dinner here before but this was the first time we stayed as well. The room we had was a good size, quiet, beautifully decorated and the bed super comfortable. The bathroom looked brand new, it was absolutely spotless and with a great shower. Dinner was really excellent! I had the beetroot salad followed by trout which were both delicious. My partner had a meze starter and vegetarian red curry which was one of the best I have tasted! The place has a great atmosphere and the service excellent .. overall, highly recommended!

We had a small group of friends enjoying a Christmas menu. We pre-ordered the main course from across the menu and ordered starters and puddings during the meal. Wide selection of wines beers and soft drinks. Excellent food Terrific service Very enjoyable pub restaurant. And the cost for 8 was very reasonable worked out at £50 per person incoming all drinks and three courses. Thanks for making our meal just right.

A very nice evening out. Food was excellent as was the service. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We loved the layout and atmosphere and will be returning. The only downside was that they do not sell coffee which we always have after a good meal. Also note that a 10% service charge is automatically added to the final bill. This is happening more and more in restaurants. I think it should be up to the customer to decide how much, if anything to tip.

It's very flamingo pink and loads and loads of flowers all over the place. The waiter was good and the service speedy. Great cocktails, didn't taste too strong, that were freshly made and tasty. At nearly £9 a cocktail its a place to think about drinking at but great for a gathering. Food is Italian in style but I didn't eat so I've no idea how good it was at all, but those around us seemed happy with it. The best bit us the design of the seating as most tables seemed to be tucked away and gave a sense of privacy. The music was pitched just right so it covered construction around but you could hear what each other were saying, so perfect. It's an interesting place to go to and I definitely would return with my friend for a pitcher of cocktails (I think it was about £18 per pitcher which gives about 3.5 cocktails) but I'm not sure I would go for a romantic evening with my partner.

This place was amazing! Never been before and it was my sister’s birthday, we had a such a lovely time! The cocktails were so lovely and the food was good too. We had lovely service and would definitely come again!!
