Awesome breakfast gyros, a real taste sensation! Don’t get breakfast at the Premier Inn, walk down to Nicos and try the gyros! Service was also super speedy and friendly staff to boot, will call again when next in the area!

We've just moved to the area and have had lunch at the Farmer Inn twice now, and both times it's been amazing. Friendly service, lovely atmosphere, welcoming patronage, delicious food. Can't wait to go back again.

The George in Finchdean is a fantastic countryside pub, perfectly situated opposite a peaceful sheep field. After enjoying a lovely walk around the charming village of Finchdean, it was the ideal spot to stop off for a pint and a bite to eat. The setting is idyllic, the food was great, and the service was warm and welcoming. I’d highly recommend this gem to anyone exploring the area.

Popped in for a swift drink on my whole. Lovely olde world pub with a great log fire. Friendly service and good selection of beers. Recommended. Note have a meal booked for later in the month and looking forward to it.

What an absolutely gorgeous pub! Starting from the wonderfully warm greeting from the staff, who were welcoming and incredibly attentive. The food served was beautifully presented and very tasty. The bar has a very good selection of beer, wines, and spirits, and the staff were very knowledgeable about the beers they were serving. Sadly, I was the duty driver, so I stuck to orange juice and lemonade... but I will be back soon and will definitely try a grown-up drink!! I loved the fact that the George is so very dog friendly, and they have a dog menu, too! Thanks to everyone for their help to make the memorial for my brother in law such a wonderful experience. I'll see you soon.

Just moved to the area so first time trying Old Town Grill. We Decided on kebab for our Friday night treat. The food was absolutely outstanding. The chilli sauce is the best Iv had. The meat was very good quality, well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Extremely tasty and good portion size. Can’t wait to return again and try out other food on the menu. We definitely won’t be going anywhere else. Could not fault anything. The staff were efficient and the price of our meal was fair. Worth every penny. I don’t normally leave a review but this place deserves the credit.

Just had our first meal delivered from here, great delivery driver, very friendly. We tried the Chicken Shish Kebabs. So fresh and amazing flavours and fantastic attention to detail, everything was delivered separately so you can build yourself as you prefer and keeps everything fresher. Thank you.

Such a lovely place to eat. Taking into account there is already limited choices of halal food within the area; these guys do amazing. We ordered the family platter. Was also given a courteous free margarita pizza. The food was so lovely. Texture, taste, salad, presentation were all perfect. We all thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The staff were so caring and friendly. There is also free parking nearby. Not sure if I'm coming to this area again; but if I do; I'll be sure to come again.

It's my first time coming to this place I highly recommended it to any1 wanting a kebab. Service was fantastic and the food was outstanding. This place definitely deserves a five star rating. I'm 100% coming back 👍

Fantastic Sunday roast and great selection of draft beers and ales. A lovely touch also from the landlord to pop over and introduce himself too as we hadn't been in since he took over. Will be visiting again.

We have visited The Fox and Hounds pub in Denmead twice for lunch, and our experiences have been mixed. During our first visit, we ordered the ribs and a cheeseburger. The ribs were fantastic, served as four massive pieces in a delectable sticky sauce. However, the cheeseburger was quite the opposite; it was undercooked, potentially cooked from frozen, resulting in an unpleasant jelly-like texture. It was inedible, but to their credit, we received a refund. We hope that others do not encounter the same issue. Our second visit saw us sticking to the ribs, which we had enjoyed previously. Unfortunately, there was an issue with consistency. This time, there were fewer ribs, and the sauce had changed to what seemed like a red wine sauce, lacking the sticky texture we previously enjoyed. While the ribs were still served with salad and fries, there were numerous raw spring onions scattered on top. This was not mentioned on the menu, and while I had no problem eating them, my wife dislikes raw onions and found this addition unappealing. The Fox and Hounds is a community-saved freehouse with significant investment. While we found the drinks satisfactory, the inconsistency and quality of the food left us disappointed, and we have decided not to return for meals. Overall, the atmosphere and drinks are commendable, but the food, unfortunately, fell short of expectations.

Popped into the Fox and Hounds, Denmead for an impromptu roast. The landlord, Chris, was very accommodating and although they were busy and we were just passing through, they made space for us. We had wonderful roast pork and beef dinners. Loads of cauliflower cheese which was gorgeous too! Couldn't fault the team, really friendly staff and a wonderful atmosphere. The landlord shared he had some exciting plans for the place and wanted to deliver quality food. Based on our visit I’d say he’s doing an amazing job! We will definitely book ahead next time though as think he’s going to be really successful and very busy. Adding a bit of an edit on here. We went in again today in October as we enjoyed our meal so much before. The service was crazy slow this time. Table booked at 415 and didn’t receive our mains until 530. What made things worse was after a hour and a quarter of waiting three of us who ordered roasts didn’t have Yorkshire puddings as they had run out (we were surprised by this as not a difficult recipe esp given the time we had waited). The staff were very apologetic and discounted our drinks but we were left feeling a little sad. Overall a lovely meal again well cooked and great portions just very slow service and running out of food simply isn’t what you’d expect having booked a table for a set roast menu.

Having grown up on School Lane, of course we know the Fox very well. But I don’t think I can remember a better experience over the many years than myself and my friends had this Sunday. Great friendly welcoming service and atmosphere, and even better food. We are so happy to recommend our local pub to all our friends once again.

The staff is incredibly nice and friendly, making you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. They are flexible and open, going out of their way to ensure everything is perfect during your visit. We were fortunate enough to get a last-minute table for four, and they accommodated us with such care and attention. Their dedication to customer satisfaction truly stood out. Came here a few times with my other half now and never had a bad experience. From their great selection of beers on tap to the amazing tapas on the menu there is something here for everyone. On this occasion one thing we ordered was forgotten but that was ok because we couldn't finish what we had on the table anyway, our servers were nice enough to have it made and put in a takeaway box for us to enjoy when we got home and they took that item off of our bill. If we lived in Horndean we'd be visiting all the time.

The best tuna toastie I've ever had! This place has a lovely feel about it. The staff are all friendly and approachable, the interior is cosy and warm. I love that you can bring dogs (I think more places should allow this!). I'll definitely be back :)

Lovely little, quiet cafe. Perfect to grab a coffee before setting off for the school run or just after. Colouring and toys for children. Friendly staff. Cater for dairy free. I recommend the hot chocolate! Mmmm

Great food. I would have given 5 stars for service, but for the fact the menus state lower prices than I was charged. When highlighted to staff coffee was 20 pence more expensive than the menu stated, oh sorry but the menus have not been updated was the response from staff member. It may only be 20 pence but that is not the point.

We went for breakfast today as a party of four. There was quite a wait for our meals from when we ordered but it is lovely surroundings. When my garden breakfast came I was disappointed that it was not very hot. I returned it and asked if it could just be re heated. The staff were very apologetic and instead cooked me a complete new breakfast and offered us all free drinks. This I believe was excellent service. As with most things, it can go wrong at times but they put it right without fuss. I would recommend this place very highly. And certainly come again.

A lovely lunch for my granny's birthday! It looks even more beautiful now with the new renovations & the food was delicious too! Can't wait to try the afternoon tea soon as well 😍

One of our favourite country pubs to go to, they have a restaurant area and a bar area with plenty of parking and outside seating when the suns out too! The log fire is a beautiful addition to the pub and we love spending afternoons here. The food is delicious, good portions and the wine selection is great. 🩷I recommend the Rose Malbec!

Had a lovely evening meal. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Vegan burger was the best I've ever had, so so tasty. Puddings also delicious.

What a fantastic place sort of tucked away behind a big long bush . Lovely setting, gardens, interior, toilets ( important) And most of all fantastic food & great friendly service. We couldn’t fault anything. Even had linen napkins & fresh flowers on the tables. It’s all about in the detail and these guys have got it!! Well done ..Will return.. 😊

Unfortunately the pies and Vegan Wellington were off, but a nice meal all the same. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Took note of our dietary requirements and warned where a dish we had selected would not suit. Very helpful after our "accident" with our latte.

We booked the snug for Sunday lunch with a big (probably too big) group of us and it was brilliant. Staff were all incredible, attentive and friendly and the food was great quality and delivered so quickly (especially since the pub was packed!). Just had a pint at The Red Lion in Chalton, and it was a roaring good time! The staff are like pub wizards, magically appearing with perfectly poured pints and a smile. The pub itself is a cozy den, perfect for plotting adventures or just enjoying a laugh with friends. The beer? So good, it could make a lion purr. I tried a local brew that was so refreshing, I felt like I could conquer the world (or at least the pub quiz). The regulars are a friendly bunch, always ready with a joke or a story. If you’re in Chalton and need a pint, The Red Lion is the place to be. Cheers to great times and even better beer!
