First time came here with family and it was amazing. Great friendly staff and breakfast was 10/10. Lovely place and dog friendly too. Will definitely come back.

Very nice and busy place, we used VIP bay where we had privacy and comfortable game. We also used normal bay which was also very comfy, just very busy. Food tasty and unique menu, some traditional meals have been revived with spring influence. We could also sit outside enjoying sun, lots of tables for everyone! Thanks for a nice day!

BOOK a table to avoid disappointment, this place is BUSY, that should tell you something!! Great menu, I couldn’t decide between 5 different things! Happy with the choice I made, the staff were friendly, price was reasonable. Will visit again!

We were a large party and had a great time with good food and service. Breakfast was nice and I expect lunch to be just as good.

A fabulous hidden gem in central Winchester. The architecture has a wonderful ye olde England feel - lots of dark wood and leather, but at the same time light and airy spaces. The food was simply delicious. Top quality ingredients cooked to perfection. Well priced wines. Really pleasant staff who clearly want you to have a great experience. A top notch venue.

We decided to try this restaurant from my partners birthday lunch. Booking was really easy online, and they sent a reminder email a couple of days before to check i still wanted the table. We arrived a little early and they were more than happy to show us to our very comfortable round booth table. There was a good selection of wines by the glass and the bottle, as well as beers. We decided to do the lunch set menu, which was delicious, and well priced. At the end of the meal the discount via the set menu was £5 off each. We had bread to start which was fresh and crunchy. The Farmhouse Terrine was delicious served with the jam. We were pleased with our choice and the jam complemented it well. We both had the Pork Schnitzel, which was also delicious. The combination of anchovies and capers was great, the bits with the anchovy on were especially a highlight. The baby Gem was also really good. We finished our meal with delicious puddings, which weee both really good. A lovely venue in the centre of town. £50 a head for three courses and drinks. A delicious lunch

Went here with wife and a couple of friends. Food was lovely as was the wine. Cocktails were also good. We did however have a 45 minute wait for a table that was booked weeks in advance and the service while waiting was pretty poor, which did take the edge off the overall experience. Did add a couple of photos of the food but I'd already started eating before taking photos because we were that hungry from the wait 😂

This place was great, went on a date night with the wife, this place was a recommendation from a friend, definitely worth it! Food was great, place is lovely, decor is fantastic. Only down side, which is purely personal it was way too hot (felt like the heating was on full blast) and my wife an I were sat at a table for two basically smack in the middle of the room with booths and bigger tables on both sides, which meant there was non-stop people and servers walking past at a very close proximity. Other than that, it was great!

I was visiting Winchester from London to visit family for Christmas and had an amazing experience at Turkuaz, atmosphere was just perfect and the service was brilliant - the team couldn’t be more friendly and attentive whist giving us some great food and drink recommendations. Food was delicious and portion sizes were just right, highlight for me was the octopus dish which felt really unique. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Went on a Sunday evening for a 30th birthday. Service was brilliant the woman couldn’t have been more professional. The food was outstanding some of the best meats I have ever tasted. Will definitely be coming to taste more of the menu! And that very good cocktail list! Food attached is a mixed izgara

Lovely evening with friends, food was amazing and live jazz music completed the dining experience. fair price for delicious food, would go again definitely worth a visit if you haven't been.

We came here for bottomless brunch. The food was amazing and the drinks were really good. Would recommend the candyfloss gin and tonic. Rosie looked after us and made sure we were always topped up. Would definitely recommend.

Popped in with my daughter on Wednesday and we both had pizzas. Having been to Italy this year, I can say hands down that these were on a par with the pizzas we had there. Super tasty, amazing bases and just delicious. Really lovely friendly staff. All perfect.

Had a festive brunch with the ladies at the Stable Winchester, place is easy to find and was quite hectic. Second floor was quite nice and homey but not too keen on seeing the manager standing right in front of the kitchen staff looking rather stressed the entire time we were there. Rest of the staff were quite attentive and very friendly. Could do with more cocktail options and better mocktails.

We tried the Christmas special- festive full monty and the pig on pillow. The pizza is nice and the crust is crunchy. There are different type of cider as well.

A traditional pub with lots of atmosphere so not a chain "trendy bar". Bar staff are always friendly as are the regular patrons. On one visit the bar staff were looking after an elderly lady who had been soaked in the rain. Seating around the bar is quirky, with old school desks and seats. Good range of spirits and hand pulled ales. Is very popular so can get very busy.

Lovely room with great character. I really enjoyed the breakfast. Nice to see the pub early at breakfast, a real chance to see all the history on the walls

New Year’s Eve luncheon for 7 persons. We’re able to get a table booking despite leaving it to 24-hrs in advance. Lovely historic pub. Friendly and attentive table service in the dining area (there are a couple of different dining areas in this large pub.) For visitors to Winchester and its cathedral this is a recommended venue. A Taste of Japan in Winchester – Kyoto Kitchen I had heard about Kyoto Kitchen, and while I was in the area, I thought it would be a great opportunity to check it out! My daughter and I managed to book a table on the same day, which was relatively easy despite not being locals. Entering through the hotel, we passed by the bar area before stepping into the main dining space. The atmosphere was both summery and refined, with a unique layout. There was only one central pathway, giving the impression of entering a grand hall, almost like a castle. The tables were arranged on either side, and at the heart of the room stood a striking center piece—a large kimono - its presence commanding attention like a king in a courtroom. To my surprise, there was another dining area designed in the style of a traditional Japanese sushi bar, where guests could watch the chefs prepare fresh sushi. The delicate fabric dividers between the rooms reminded me of Japan, adding to the authenticity of the experience. I was seated in the banquet area, opposite a stunning vegetable art display spanning the entire wall. It created an incredible blend of indoor and outdoor elements, stimulating the senses in an unexpected way. For my meal, I ordered the Winchester Sushi Rolls, as recommended by the waiter. This dish featured fresh salmon, mango, cucumber, and seaweed, topped with goji berries and a horseradish sauce. The combination was delicate yet flavorful—refreshing with a perfect balance of sweetness and spice. I also had Wagyu Gyoza, garnished with edible flowers, which was incredibly fresh and beautifully presented. The service was excellent, and the entire experience truly transported me to Japan. Winchester is fortunate to have such a gem of a restaurant, and I hope they continue to support their talented chefs. This is a must-visit for sushi lovers and anyone looking for an authentic Japanese dining experience.

I continue to be impressed with Kyoto Kitchen. This was our fourth visit, and hopefully, it's not our last! I love how the menu changes and getting to try new things each time. Stylish, accommodating, and affordable.

My daughter took me here for my 60th birthday present. On arrival the restaurant knew it had been my birthday a few weeks ago, but still wished me happy birthday. There were four of us eating and we all chose the gourmet set menu. The menus are being changed Monday so they will have new names. They asked us about food allergies. Two of us are gluten free and to complicate things I can't eat crustaceans. This was no problem to them and they adapted the food when ever necessary. The food was exceptional and the waiters took time to explain exactly how each dish had been prepared and what the ingredients were. The food came at a nice pace. When we had our penultimate dish, the Winchester Roll, they served this with fresh wasabi. The flavour of this was fantastic. I would certainly come back and eat here again. I really want to try their vegan set menu next time.

We were passing through and stopped for lunch here. Wasn't expecting such an amazing burger! It was very thick, juicy and full of flavour. The fries were nice and crunchy and well seasoned. Daughters sausages were delicious too. Cost around 30 quid to feed the both of us including a beer so not bad value for money. Staff were fantastic, very friendly. Definitely recommend

Came for lunch on a week day, wasn't expecting too much but given the car park was nearly full and the pub was quite busy I had better expectations and I wasn't wrong, the team were friendly and helpful. They have a good range of beers and drinks, the wine was of a good standard too. The show stopper was the food, I had venison, my wife the chicken, both dishes were delicious, frankly I could have eaten anything listed on the specials board, we left very happy!

Fantastic choice of lunch venue. From placing a booking to leaving was perfect. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Everything we chose to eat was exceptional. Proper country pub home cooking at its best. Even the toilets were a pleasure to visit. Thanks so much for an awesome experience.

A place filled with lots of bustles, happy hours with a good selection of cocktails. Sweet corn fritters were excellent but not for those who cannot tolerate spice.

Our server Chris was very attentive, extremely polite and happy in his job. Which is lovely to see. He catered to all our needs. He is an asset to turtle bay. Good staff are very hard to come by and he is certainly a worth looking after. The food and drink were perfect 👌🏼 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Didn't know what to expect from Turtle Bay but was pleasantly surprised. Went for dinner - Food was excellent as were the 2 4 1 cocktails, service was polite and prompt even though it was a busy night. Would highly recommend a visit although..... If it's a quiet evening meal your after, probably best not go on a Saturday night as it was crowded and very noisy......but that can only be a sign of a popular establishment. Looking forward to going back.....

Loved loved LOVED it here.....We booked in for the bottomless brunch (late afternoon) It wasn't that busy but still good atmosphere. The food was fabulous...the cocktails were nice and plentiful.What made our visit was our waitress Abby she was very attentive and friendly an asset to the team.

The food is incredible. Their burgers are unrivalled! They could really do some work on their interior though.. completely uninspired and outside it often looks closed. Can’t reiterate enough though, food is brilliant. Cocktails are also great.

Such a lovely place for dinner. Highly recommend. We had such a warm welcome from staff on arrival. Seated immediately, we had a tight timetable due to concert in the cathedral. They squeezed us in quickly. The food was beautiful, all burgers with various sides. We enjoyed the chicken burger and halloumi burger. Both came with paprika chips. Really great food. Staff were all so friendly, especially our male server, he fantastic and helpful. Thank you for your kindness and welcome. PS. Please allow tipping on cards as we had no cash and your staff are great.

The burgers here are not only delicious but also served promptly, complemented by fries that are exceptionally crispy and unmistakably fresh. The ambiance is vibrant and welcoming, enhanced by the spotlessly clean surroundings. The restrooms are impeccably maintained, stocked with plush paper towels and ample toilet paper, making every detail count. This place is definitely a must-visit and comes highly recommended for an enjoyable outing.

The burgers were very tasty and well presented and the place is cosy and with a nice atmosphere. No issues with the person who served us who was friendly and pleasant but I witnessed another waiter clean a table that had just been vacated with only dirty napkins and nothing else. That's not hygienic! Hence the reduced score on service. Hopefully that was a poorly trained waiter rather than their cleanliness routine.

Elegant! Lovely decor, wonderful service, delicious food and a great wine list. We went as a group of 4 for a 2/3 course lunch and there was nothing to fault. It was our first time dining there and we will certainly be back. It was great to have some seasonal game choices on the menu.

We both chose to dine from the prix fixé menu (which also included a Botanist gin! ). Very reasonably priced for less than £20 for the two course option. I always look at the dessert option first - so I chose the treacle tart. For mains I had the couscous with aubergine and harissa. It was delicious - just the right amount of spice and very colourful. The tart (very generous portion !) with salted caramel icecream was really nice. All the staff were pleasant and friendly - our server in particular (didn't catch her name). Will definitely come back again when in Winchester.

Had a Sunday roast. Yorkshire puddings and roast beef were very good. No gravy with meal or horse radish. Had to ask for gravy and horseradish. Vegetables were very bland and uninspiring. Main course took around 25 mins to arrive. Sat by window which was quite chilly. Starter and dessert very good.

Came here on a Friday late lunch after enjoying a day in Winchester. They offer some good 2 and 3 course deals, but we had our heart set on the chateaubriand steak. We ordered this and the baguette with dips to enjoy while waiting for the steak to be cooked. The place is very spacious and nicely laid out, with an open plan kitchen upstairs. Staff here are very good. Our meal was very good paired with a good red wine as well. The only criticism is the mark up on the wine. But this is something that happens everywhere. Overall a brilliant late lunch here🙂
