The most stunning place I've ever had lunch at: right on the river. Surrounded by ducks and geese. Lovely food, as well. I had the gnocchi while my partner had the fish and chips. Both were great! I'm not surprised the place was packed even on a Wednesday afternoon. It's just that good!

Amazing location, super peaceful on the riverside. If you're lucky you may see some trout and other fish. The service was great, the Sunday roast was almost perfect (I think coz of it's popularity, it can get served lukewarm) Otherwise, it was great and definitely looking forward to going back, most likely in the spring.

I have visited The Mayfly near Stockbridge several times in the past few months, and it’s definitely one of my favourite pubs in the local area. During the summer, there is nothing nicer than sitting out by the river, whilst in the colder months is a very cozy pub. The food is good quality and is pretty standard prices. I had a Pie recently and it was very tasty. The Sticky Toffee Pudding was also very nice, but we did have to ask for some more sauce as it was a little lacking, but they were very obliging. The staff are efficient and friendly, and overall, it’s a really lovely spot for a casual get together with friends.

Highly recommend this gem of a pub. Stopped in for dinner after a nice long dog walk in the area. Good selection of ales, steak was fabulous and perfectly cooked. Menu isn't huge but lots of very tasty sounding options, including a couple of vegan and vegetarian mains.

We arrived later than planned but just caught the cut off time for lunch. Jackie served us and was very lovely & looked after us very well. She recommended the lamb & mint pie of the day. It was possibly the best pie Ive ever eaten. Pastry was thin ,crispy & flaky, and the balance of the melt in your mouth lamb and mint was perfect. Served with mash and veg all cooked perfectly with a gravy packed full of flavour. The cocktails are also fabulous , very well executed , not the cheap watery fruit juice versions you frequently receive elsewhere. My picture does not do this meal justice.

Had the Salt and Pepper Squid to start and Thai Green Chicken Curry special for main course. Both tasted great and good portion sizes. It was very busy at lunch time with good atmosphere.

We've stayed here before a couple of times and chose it because of its location and character. It's an old pub, built in 1611, and is set in a charming village not far from the A303. We had a double room overlooking the garden, with a wash basin, and a shared bathroom. It was very clean and comfortable. The hosts are welcoming and friendly. The food was excellent -- we had the Special, roasted Sea Bass with roasted new potatoes, carrots and beans, with a delicious sauce. We would certainly recommend this place to anyone.

Went for Sunday Roast, the best we've had around this area, a choice of three meats and a vegetarian option. Portion size perfect, lovely tender meat, plenty of vegetables and the finest roast potatoes I've had in a long time. The price was several pounds less than other places we've been to and if you have the Sunday roast, desserts are half price. Will definitely be going back for another roast.

On my travels I popped in to this inn that's oozing with history on the off chance that they had a bit of grub for lunch. The lad behind the bar was extremely friendly and made me feel right at home. The food was pretty good, especially since it's a temporary menu from the new owners but most importantly the beer was great I would definitely pop in again if I was in the area. Hopefully you new venture will be a great success if today was anything to go by I am sure it will. Thanks a lot guys hopefully see you soon
