Great little golf course, well kept greens are lovely

This is a great course for beginners, seniors, juniors or anyone with mobility issues that still want to be able to play the game. It’s also a good place to practice through the winter months when other courses become too muddy to play. I’m a single figure handicap and usually carry just 4 or 5 clubs and make the most of the course, leave the driver at home 3/4 iron is plenty here. Theres not much scope to improve or lengthen the course other than to put another few holes in another field. I’d love to see that, would be a good candidate for the 12 hole golf course, although unlikely.

This course is easily one of the best in Hampshire its playable all year round due to it having great drainage and being based on chalk. The greens are in prefect condition all year round, much needed development is happening and its making the course stunning to look at aswell as to play. The club is very welcoming and has a very mixed age group with great attention payed to younger players to get them into golf. I also got married at the club and every part of the day was so well organised and put together. Test valley really is a great club.

Good golf course, challenging yet forgiving if you manage the course. Beware the bunkers, lol. Golf buggies available. Book tee time on line and buggy. Discounts on buggies for medical reasons.

I recently ran a Mental Health and Small Business - One Day Conference at Test Valley Golf Club and can't truly express how impressed I was with everything from the venue, to the catering, to the level of service. From the moment I enquired, Maria and Molly made me feel welcome and wanted to ensure they could accommodate as much as was feasible to create an event just as I had envisioned. The preparation and support provided was second to none. On the day, the food was excellent, the room was perfectly arranged and no dietary requirements or additional requests were too much trouble. They were so attentive and I can not wait to book our next event with them.

I have played here over the years and recently twice. The staff are all polite, friendly and helpful. I rely on them to pass on my compliments to the kitchen crew for excellent meals, and the greens staff for a well maintained course. Not the cheapest but certainly best value for money on a society day out.

I enjoyed few hours spent there. Private booths are perfect for beginners and fun with balls! Public bays are also very comfortable l. Food very nice and staff polite. Will definitely visit again

Great facilities and staff are very welcoming. Andy Reid was especially friendly and great help in giving a few tips and making sure I had everything I needed whilst there - will likely come back for some proper lessons - highly recommend!

Cannot speak highly enough about this place! Excellent facilities and wonderful staff - who even took the time to track me down after I left some clubs behind after a visit! The trade in is incredibly competitive and the on site cafe / bar / food is outstanding - well worth visiting!

Driving range and 9-hole course. Well maintained and has a shop selling a selection of drinks and second hand golf equipment. Been here many times, I like the course here has some nice holes to test your skills.

Played here yesterday after three our four days intense heat. Despite 30 degree temperatures, the fairways were the best I've seen here. Greens were surprisingly slower to putt on than expected, and were holding up despite high temperatures. Friendly staff on board....overall experience was very positive!

We had our team Christmas party last night and it was honestly one of the best evenings we have ever had . Carole and her team worked so hard and made the evening enjoyable . Thank you all . Merry Christmas🎅from all at Dental Concepts team : )

Poked my nose in yesterday to check the course and clubhouse out and was greeted by a member of staff... She was very polite and sociable.. Only saw a part of the course but what I saw was excellent, especially for early February... I'll be returning to Andover in a couple of weeks and can't wait to play this course..

Took family up to see the fireworks this year 2023. They had hot and cold beverages. Live band which were pretty good. Got the crowd going. They also had hot and cold food outside or in vans on the field. Fireworks were great! £10 entry fee for what you got I think it was worth the price. Had an amazing time. I didn't get many pictures as I was too busy enjoying myself.

A great golf course. And a tough one too so not for the beginner. Hilly, chalky countryside means it's playable in winter/spring when many other course are not. Pro shop and bar/clubhouse are good standard. And you'll deserve a drink when you've finished a round!

It's a downland course, close to the M3. There are a reasonable variety of holes. It's not overly tough, but some of the greens undulations can be a challenge. It's quiet a hilly course, so if you're carrying, be prepared. The clubhouse staff are welcoming friendly. The food is OK. If you're in the area it's worth a visit.

This is a course that regularly gets plaudits from top 100 golf course lists, and it's easy to see why. The setting is scenic, it has all the practise facilities you could ask for, and the course itself is the star of the show. The greens had recently been treated, but didn't look too far away from being excellent again. The tees were good, and the fairways were just about holding up to the pressures of the summer heatwave we've been going through. There are lots of nicely shaped holes, and a good mix of short and long par 4's. It's also pretty friendly from the tee, so can be played by all levels of handicap. Add in the excellent clubhouse and friendly members (the ones I spoke to were anyway), and you've ticked all of the boxes. Highly recommended.

Have used Alresford GC for many years with my society. The club house has recently been refurbished and is now an excellent venue and the food options are very reasonable and the staff are very attentive. The golf course we played in April 2023 was in excellent condition and the greens were unbelievable for this time of the year. If not played it’s highly recommended.

Nice, well maintained course with friendly welcome for visitors. Drains well, so recommended for winter/Spring in particular. Some challenging holes, particularly those hitting to elevated greens, often with good bunkering too. Some of the “newer” holes further from the clubhouse were less interesting - they are well established after several decades but lacked a bit of character. Nice terrace to catch some sun and watch balls trickle off the tricky final green.

We played the course yesterday on our way home from playing all three courses at The Belfry and it was fantastic! It was the highlight of my trip. The course is in fantastic condition, you wouldn't think we have been having extremely wet conditions lately. The views from around the course are tremendous, especially the view from the putting green which looks over the first fairway and green (which you hit onto from an elevated tee box), as well as a few other tee boxes and greens. The other was from the first green which gives you a great look at the club house, its terrace, and some of the latter holes. There are so many memorable holes where you tee off from an elevated position down to sloping fairways that collect balls into a central position, the greens are lovely and big, which run smoothly with some slope to them, there is also an extremely elevated green. What I will say is this course is only 6300 yards, but with the uphill and downhill elements plays a lot longer making sub 400 yard par 4s quite challenging at times. I ended up walking about 7.5 miles in total, and whilst that is fine for me others may need an electric trolley or kart to help them get around. Finally, there is a sizable reduction in green fees when using your County Card in the week which we took full advantage of. The clubhouse and its staff were very inviting and the selection of beers were great. 5/5 will be back again! Oh and I shot 36 stableford points

Played at RWGC this week. Weather wasn’t too good, windy and drizzly but everything else was fantastic. Superb course which uses the terrain brilliantly. Only one flat hole on the course and that’s the short par 3 17th. The greens were quick and incredibly subtle to read - getting the ball close with your first putt was challenging. We played off the whites and there are some very difficult par 4’s, especially back into the wind. The clubhouse is superb with floor to ceiling glass and a terrace overlooking the 18th. The staff were so friendly and the whole place is extremely welcoming. Looking forward to playing here again hext Summer in our captain’s away day. All in all, a fantastic experience, highly recommend.

Great course in very good condition. Very wide and open, so you spray it around a bit and get away with a few loose shots. Greens were very true and rolled well. Great clubhouse with a balcony overlooking the 18th. We'll worth a visit.

We had a 60th birthday party at Hamptworth and we had ordered a finger buffet. The quality and choice of the buffet was excellent and more than enough for everyone. Each of our guests were very impressed with the quality and cleanliness of the venue, as well as the food, drinks and the efficiency of Zoe and her team. Zoe was also a great help with organising the play list which for us technophobes was a huge plus. We returned with some of our guests for breakfast the following day, unfortunately the weather was grim so they couldn't see the beautiful view of the course from the clubhouse very well. Despite this a couple of them expressed a desire to return and play the course. A huge thank you to Andy and all his team for making the occasion so special.

Brilliant Golf Course in superb condition, quite tight fairways, well looked after. Lovely greens with just the right amount of deception (depending on your point of view) Lovely clubhouse, friendly helpful staff and really nice food. Well recommended.🏌️‍♂️⛳☀️👍

First game - orange course. Fairways in excellent condition - drier than expected. Only 11 and side of 18 were damp and soggy. Greens and tees in very good order. Good to be able to play from the fairways on all of the par4 and 5 holes.

The best course I have played in the area infact best course in the South. The welcome from the staff makes you feel special as soon as you step through the door. The clubhouse has to be seen to be fully appreciated. Its like Chelsea chic comes to Wiltshire. The course is in superb condition and the work being put into it is clearly paying off. Would 100% recommend.

This is a very attractive rolling parkland course in great condition. I've played here many times over the years and always enjoyed it. It's a good venue for societies as they are very welcoming, and the fairways are a generous width. This year, 2024, the greens, although well kept, were a lot slower than expected, but that may be due to the number of wet days recently. There are lots of bunkers around the greens but they are exceptionally well-maintained - very impressive, but fortunately no fairway bunkers that I can recall. Good clubhouse.

The course is excellent having played it at least six times it is always in great condition. The fairways, bunkers and greens are very good. The staff are by far the best of all of the golf clubs that I have played. The bar manager is great, and the food preparation and choice of food never ceases to amaze me. Everything about the club is exceptional well done to all that have contributed to the club’s performance. Well Done👍👍Chris
