I went to the races at Leicester last week , it's a friendly course , with good competitive racing . The new refurbished cafe offered an excellent new menu , the panini's were particular delicious 😋. Had a very good afternoon out even though my small wagers seemed to keep coming second 😞 . But will be back again soon .

A great driving range, probably the best one in Leicester and at a great location not too far out of the centre of the city. The driving range is suitable for both right and left handed people which is good, some ranges do not take this into consideration.

Sunday day out, excellent choice, extremely helpful and friendly professional staff (Bruce). Sausage and onion cob before playing set the mood of the day, great decision by playing partners. Seriously the tees and greens were in excellent condition, fairways have recovered very well from the hot weather we've had this year, well done greens staff.

Have played there twice; Kirby Muxloe Golf Club is a fantastic choice for golfers who appreciate a well-designed parkland course. The layout is thoughtfully planned, with a mix of challenging and rewarding holes that make each round interesting and engaging. The fairways and greens are typically in excellent condition, showing the care and effort put in by the maintenance team, and the scenery around the course really adds to the experience. The clubhouse is inviting and well-run, with friendly staff and a solid selection of food and drink. It’s a great spot to unwind after a game, and there’s a welcoming, community feel to the place that makes both members and guests feel right at home. However, a big drawback is how muggy and waterlogged the course gets after rain. Even with a bit of rainfall, you can expect some areas to be quite boggy, and it doesn’t drain as well as it could. In certain spots, you’ll find the ground quite soft, which can affect the quality of play and make getting around a bit of a slog. If you’re playing after any significant rain, be prepared for some muddy patches and slower conditions. Overall, Kirby Muxloe Golf Club is a lovely place to play, but just be mindful that after rain, the course can feel very boggy. Despite this, it’s still worth visiting for the quality of the layout, well-maintained greens, and friendly clubhouse atmosphere.

Rating: 4.7 (199) Price Level:

Lovely course. Variety of holes with up and down, left and right turns. Not too many bunkers which I liked Mostly a even course (left-right) although a couple of holes with some lean on them Well maintained course, especially given the current wet conditions. Great views and wonderful lighting across the course, nice trail through trees too

Rating: 4 / 5

Lingdale Golf Club, nestled in the picturesque Charnwood Forest, offers a memorable golfing experience. The course's design is both challenging and engaging, with the front nine featuring undulating terrain and tree-lined fairways that require strategic play. The back nine presents elevation changes and well-placed hazards, keeping golfers on their toes throughout the round. While the club's secluded location provides a tranquil setting, it does come with the drawback of limited mobile phone reception. This can be a minor inconvenience for those needing to stay connected. On the plus side, the clubhouse serves excellent food, making it a great spot to relax after a round. The staff are friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience. Overall, Lingdale Golf Club is a delightful course that offers a unique and enjoyable round of golf. Its thoughtful design and quality amenities make it well worth a visit.

A gourmet feast to tantalise the taste buds which doesnt break the bank. Attended the Gourmet Night with Paul and Ali Leary and it exceeded expectations, overall nobody in my party had a bad word to say. The food was brilliant and well presented, all five courses really hit the spot but for me the two stand out dishes were the starter of duck and the main of beef. Will definitely be looking to attend another of these events in the future.

Hinckley Golf Club is a gem of a course and one that offers a well-rounded, challenging experience. It was the first course I played on the Mizuno Tour, which made it extra special at the time, although it seems it’s no longer on the tour. It took me two tries to fully appreciate and conquer this course, as this course really benefits from local knowledge, especially with a few blind holes that require you to trust your instincts and line up your shots with some confidence. The bunkers here are interesting too, filled with fine-grain sand that gives them a unique feel and plays a bit differently than other courses. It’s a subtle detail, but one that adds to the character and keeps you on your toes. The relatively new clubhouse is also a fantastic addition and makes the whole experience even better. It’s modern, welcoming, and a great place to relax after a challenging round, with excellent food and friendly staff who add to the overall warm vibe of the club. Overall, Hinckley Golf Club is a top-notch experience, offering a challenging course that rewards both skill and local knowledge. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable and rewarding round.

Rutland Water Golf Club Ltd

Lodge Farm, Manton Rd, Oakham LE15 8HB, UK | Golf Course
P: 01572 737525

Rating: 4.6 (420) Price Level:

Rutland Water Golf Club offers a captivating golfing experience with its scenic views and thoughtfully designed course. The Championship Course presents a delightful challenge for skilled players while maintaining an inviting atmosphere for casual enthusiasts. The course layout is particularly engaging, featuring several risk-reward holes that tempt golfers to take bold lines off the tee. Multiple holes offer an opportunity to cut corners, rewarding accurate driving. However, some of the greens can be quite unforgiving, especially during peak season. Their undulating nature adds complexity, which may be challenging for some players. Overall, Rutland Water Golf Club provides a memorable round with its picturesque setting and strategic design. While the challenging greens may test your putting skills, the course's unique features and rewarding layout make it well worth a visit.

In the past year I’ve been getting back into golf, having recently moved to the area I don’t know many people. The club has been fantastic. Last year I had lessons with Adrian ‘Aidy’ to get my swing back in condition. Aidy is brilliant, a great coach and doesn’t overwhelm. This year I’ve joined the club fully and first hole on the main course I got a par. Still got some work to do and continuing the lessons, but the support and efforts of the club/pro shop staff are awesome. Highly recommend this club for anyone new or getting back into the game.

First time playing Rutland Water and wasn’t disappointed. Warm welcome from the pro shop who arrange our buggy for us and had it waiting at reception. Driving range & Putting green was good and reflected the same speed as the greens on the course. The Golf course was outstanding. Great value for money. Tee boxes , fairways and greens all in very very good condition. Clubhouse is very modern and has a lovely courtyard to enjoy a cold beer with really friendly staff. 10/10 keep up the good work.

Thank you so much to Gemma and the team for such an incredible wedding reception! Gemma was amazing throughout every stage of the planning process. She listened to everything we wanted, and was patient with our requesting prices for different food and drink packages. It very much felt like our day was tailored to us. Every meeting put our minds at ease. The menu tasting session in particular was excellent. On the day, we were so impressed with the level of service. All the elements from the different suppliers were weaved together seamlessly. The food was fantastic. We received so many compliments from guests about the food and how it was served (quickly and in unison for each table). The rooms and breakfasts were just as great. Thank you for everything!

Well maintained and well looked after golf course. The holes are not too hard nice open approaches on the fairway. A few long holes to test you and the par 3's are a challenge as they are very short and they make you think twice about club selection. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food and beer is great too.
