Our favourite cafe !! Lovely place with eclectic setting and the food is amazing! They do themed nights every now and then and they never disappoint. Can’t rate this place enough ! It’s lovely we have somewhere local to go to where they know our name and it’s dog friendly so always a puppacino for the dog . Paul and Donna really have brightened our little corner in Barwell 🤩

La Forêt Café

Rating: 4.8 (221) Price Level:

I found this place for the 1st time yesterday with Middle Eastern, Mediterranean & contemporary English deli classics including a range of vegetarian & vegan classics all prepared superbly with the freshest ingredients. The location was petite, however the ambience was fresh, clean, & beautiful, with simple but effective artistic details wherever you looked. The staff were kind, attentive & friendly, & the food excellently prepared. Myself & my friend ate lunch as well as coffee, however it looked some appetising, we immediately tucked in when it arrived & didn't stop to photograph anything. I had the egg Florentine which I appreciated due to having a Florentine grandmother on my mother's side. While I waited for my friend, I did photograph my cappucino & the refreshing mint & lime water that was available for free. These guys deserve 5 stars all round, no doubt I will be returning again. Thank you! 😎👌🏼✌🏼☕😁

We happened to choose a super busy time so we waited a little while for the food. But it was totally worth it. I had the Chocolate and Blueberry Pancakes - one of my go-tos. Lovely, light fluffy pancakes, plenty of chocolate sauce and fruit. My partner went for his go-to; the vegetarian full English. He was also very happy. Lovely food, polite and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend. 🥰

I love this place. The food is always great, fresh and the owners are so friendly and attentive. The freshness of the food is just the perfect combination of that treat out and the healthy option we should make. Consistently great coffee, which is always a plus. Not to forget the cakes and fresh bakes! You can just taste the authenticity of the ingredients in the flavours, also amazing flavour combinations! Overall this is lovely to go to. There is a step to enter however but there is outdoor seating for those lovely days you want to sit outside.

Leicester Coffee House Company

110 Granby St, Leicester LE1 1DL, UK | Coffee Shop

Rating: 4.8 (331) Price Level:

A wonderful coffee shop, and coffee is flavorful and the taste of the American chain coffee shops cannot be compared to it at all. Two types of coffee beans are offered to choose from. And they change beans every week. The baristas take their coffee seriously, and even the takeaway coffee comes with the latter art.although I shook the pull apart after two steps.

2nd visit here, passing by and decided to stop in as opposed to a previous takeaway. Excellent place! Served promptly with a choice of coffee and milk, a cortado with their Brazilian coffee had the perfect bitter fruit taste ratio. Beans I believe are roasted and ground on site, and you can certainly feel this within the industrial feel of the shop. Some independents attempt this, but here it’s spot on! Warm friendly and the feel of a traditional coffee shop! Highly recommend!

Have watched this place grow from the start. A super coffee 'geek level in a good way' roaster owner and barista creates wonderful coffees as ethically and community supportive as possible. Doing it right you could say. You'll find all this out for yourself if your lucky and it's not too busy and you can have a chat. I think his partner keeps him in check and makes sure everything is running as it should. They have a guest artist barista just now. Great looking and tasting coffees and always busy with regulars.......update since first writing..Revisited and was reminded how bloomin great the cakes are too. Homemade with love and attention by afore mentioned partner. 😁

If you love coffee you have to try Leicester coffee house! They roast their own beans and use good milk and you can really tell it's good quality coffee. The baked goods are also lovely, my daughter loved the vegan choc cake and I love the carrot cake. We moved to Leic from London which had some great coffees and searched for ages for a decent coffee shop here and this has to be the best we've had! I just wish we lived closer so we could get it more often :D

Went in today with my daughter and her friend after collecting their A-level results and asked the man who worked there if there was any discount for the students on their results day - the owner very kindly brought over three free delicious cakes and said to enjoy and celebrate! Beautiful bakes and coffee here and I noted some incredibly stuffed sandwiches in the fridges which looked to be excellent quality. Bread & Honey is located in one of the nicest areas of the city core with plenty of seats for people watching. You can buy the delicious Monmouth coffee they use here as beans and they will even grind it to your preference. Friendly staff just ensures your visit here is an enjoyable one.

There are lots of coffee shops in Leicester and some are pretty good. Then there's Bread and Honey, without doubt Leicester's very best. The coffee here is next level compared to anywhere else in the city. The Monmouth beans they use are stunning and each coffee is made perfectly. They also sell a good selection of coffee beans too. They bake a lot of their cakes and make fresh sandwiches every day. The sausage and bacon sandwiches are fantastic and very large. Great soups, great salads, great place!

Ron's Cafe

P: 0116 266 3780

Rating: 4.7 (527) Price Level:

Brilliant service. As soon as we got in, the staff recognised our religious beliefs and instantly offered to cook our food in separate oil. We ordered something with a few changes which were handled beautifully, and then requested some mash for the baby (they didn't have it on the menu). They use fresh potatoes so it needed to be made by hand. They still catered for it, which was so nice! We really enjoyed our breakfast here. They have good sized tables.

Used to love a Ron's breakfast, most Fridays on morning break when I lived in Leicester 15 years ago, but not been in for at least 10 years. Can't fault it at all. Coffee is strong and served at right temperature. Cakes are to die for and you probably would if you had too many of the delicious Cruffins (muffin/croissant). Go in when working on site for some reasonably priced refreshment and to meet all the lovely dogs. Friendly staff always attentive, free drinking water, plenty of seating inside and out and quite clean to say its in the woods and full of walkers, dogs and dirty boots. Great place to relax after a walk around the Outwoods. Last visit included a great breakfast of sourdough, scrambled egg and lime pickle avacado😋

Try it, it’s good! After a couple of visits, this one of my favourites, located in the beautiful Outwoods, this place is very popular with walkers (with or without dogs), complete with prompt service, delicious food, good cakes. The place welcomes you with the bar on entry, the coffee is fresh, the food is tasty, friendly staff are on point, keeping the place clean and moving smoothly. This is a dog friendly cafe, so you can bring them inside. The floors are hardy so muddy boots are allowed in bad weather. Free self service water is available when required. For kids, there’s a small park just outside, and in summer the outdoor seating will keep you in the scenery. A lot of cafes could learn from this place.

We were lucky to have such beautiful weather as we moseyed around Leicester. We sat outside where there’s a cute herb garden and a marquee. The French toast was delicious - my partner prefers savoury for breakfast and went for the scrambled eggs and salmon which he was very pleased with. 🥰

Everything exceeded our expectations. Creatively and assiduously thought out dishes, executed to a flavourful and punchy delivery. The kimchi, tuna and Red Leicester / mozzarella sourdough toastie was flavour combination my tastebuds were delighted to experience! The salad maple and mustard dressing was delicious too. All ingredients are fresh, grown on site or sourced locally from the market and local suppliers like butchers and bakers, and their quality is reflected in their superb taste. I can’t recommend this place enough; it’s clear that there’s a passion for and curiosity about food as there is mastery for culinary execution . Very generous portion sizes. Excellent service.
