Hidden treasure of Winchester! Outstandingly good Cacao and coffee. Really nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Grabbed a sandwich on a whim and it was fantastic. Really lovely change from the boring bits you get in chain shops!

I had the most amazing experience here this morning, I don’t think I’ve found another place like it in Winchester. The food is beautifully presented and full of flavours, the drinks are unique with the cacaos and mushroom blends (not to mention delicious) lastly the service is on point! Its warm, relaxed atmosphere made me want to stay all day. It’s got an alternative feel to the place with all the tropical plants and vibe. I almost felt like I’d escaped the dreary UK and could have been in Costa Rica! Photos of before and after! Thank you team Røst 🫶

I had popped by here in passing and thought it was a sweet little coffee shop. I enjoyed their drinks they had an interesting depth of flavour. However this gem really shinned when I stopped by for brunch, I ordered the Turkish eggs that came with a twist of local honey. This dish was amazing, it had different hits of favourite in each mouthful and was both creamy and rich. I would 100% come back and eat here again. Hats off to your fabulous chef for doing such amazing work especially in such a small space! They have a good range of options for Vegetarian/Vegan.

Super cozy atmosphere and friendly staff was good enough for 5 star but the coffee and pastry we had was delightful too. Highly recommended.

My daughter and son in law got married here this August 2023. It was brilliant, Beth who is in charge was fantastic and the rest of her team. Wonderful place for any celebration.

We had our wedding at The Barn at Avington last week and it was honestly perfect. The venue has the perfect mix of outdoor and indoor space to personalise and make your own and the location is beautiful. Beth is absolutely amazing and will help make your ideas come to life! We couldn't thank her enough for helping make our wedding day the day it was. It was such a fun, relaxed day and we've had (and still getting) so many compliments from our friends and family.

Absolutely stunning venue and a really lovely team. I had a DIY wedding here and it was ideal - nice blank canvas and a really supportive team to make it happen! We also got a tonne of compliments from our guests about how beautiful the site was - thank you team!!

Amazing cafe with great pies and mash and co.puter games so much to look up as a sci fi gaming family it was right up our ally and we appreciated all the little touches... so impressed. Especially the posters and hand dryer.

Such a cool place, took lots of pics of the decor! Very reasonably priced. My chicken pie was great, but my mash was cold, the meat in my friend's beef pie wasn't very tender and his mash was cold too...however, the gravy and the liquor were top notch and, the pastry was fantastic and the flavours were great! We'd definitely go back ***update*** We went back! Friend made a better pie choice (BBQ chicken), mash was hot, pies were crisp and delicious, only thing that wasn't as good was the liquor this time. But I'd now give 4.5 stars. Staff also lovely

Visited today with with my husband and 4yr old for lunch. Had a warm welcome when we arrived and was explained how the menu worked. The restaurant was small but wasn't busy when we arrived shortly after they opened at around 12.15pm Monday. The waiter explained my son could play with all the toys in the window and action figures. He didn't peep over lunch and was very busy playing! We had a couple of games of Mario Kart which was fab too. Food arrived quickly and hot, nice pies, mash and gravy. All in all a great lunch. £12 for a meal which was prices right. Make sure you use the toilet as its an experience!

Food is DELICIOUS - we went on a Saturday for lunch, and the vegan options did not disappoint. Generous portions and original ingredients. Loved by Don Bourguignon pie. The Not Dog pie is also great. Amazing decor for fans of video games / movies / series. Toilets are Star Wars themed. They have old video games available to play too! Couple of suggestions: Cleanliness - high chair for our child was really dirty, we had to use several baby wipes before we could sit him down in it. Waiters completely ignored him too (which seems to be very common in the UK... but children are people too!) Lots of great paraphernalia but a lot of it looks pretty dusty/dirty! Otherwise, we will be back to try the rest of the menu, thank you 😊

We stopped at Kavi Coffee while waiting for a breakfast table elsewhere, and it was a great find! The coffee was excellent ... rich, smooth, and just what we needed for a short stop. Friendly service and a nice atmosphere. Would definitely visit again! ☕

This place is amazing! It's new to Winchester having only been open for a couple of month, me and the family popped in for a late breakfast purely out of curiosity. It didn't disappoint! The food is full of flavor, it's fresh, locally sourced, well presented and the portion sizes are plentiful. We had the kavi breakfast wrap, the bacon french toast, the full English and the Bacon roll with a fried egg. Will definitely go back!

Great atmosphere, especially in the back room where you can see the kitchen. Golden hot chocolate was great - sweet honeycomb flavour, light on the chocolate. French toast is sweet, light, and well presented - portion is generous, enough for 2 easily! Bacon sandwich was more like a pork roll with the size, not the normal rashers. All the staff were very friendly. Definitely coming back soon!

So impressed with the quality of food. I had biscoff crumb and caramelised banana french toast and my husband had bacon roll but the bacon was like belly pork! All so delicious, latte art is stunning (look on their insta) and the service was great. I hope more people experience this place

This pub seems to get everything right! A lovely space to eat and drink (inside and out), friendly staff, fantastic sandwiches and great real ales. Very cyclist friendly too. In a lovely part of the Itchen valley this is well worth a visit, so whether you're walking, cycling or driving, just drop in and try it. You won't be disappointed!

Had a family gathering here for an evening with accommodation. Rooms, comfortable and clean, good food and friendly welcome. Good choice of ales too! We had the dogs with us and you have to use the fire escape late night morning to take them out. Unfortunately the lattice steps aren't suitable for dog paws. Enjoyed the stay and would go again.

Lovely stay and evening meal. Comfortable beds. Great choice of food for evening meal and breakfast. Our (my mum and myself) stay here felt v special and almost like "coming home" as my maternal grandmother was born here (or more accurately in the old pub building) in 1899

The Fab Four on tour chose this establishment as our base for a three night stay. The rooms were spacious, spotlessly clean and functional. Breakfast was table service and the full English breakfast was fabulous. We also had dinner on one occasion and again service and food was fabulous. The whole staffing team were friendly, attentive and helpful. Great country location with Winchester being a £16 taxi ride away. A hidden gem.

We booked in for breakfast having walked past many times. A friendly local independent which has a well constructed menu with a range of breakfasts. The crumpet with egg, was flavoured with chilli and served with bacon and maple syrup. It was delicious. We found it to be a relaxed and quiet environment and a good way to start the morning. The hot chocolate was very tasty. Looking forward to returning to try an evening with drinks.

This is a great place to visit for either breakfast, lunch or just tea and cake. They had great gluten free options and the staff were very careful with the allergy. The staff were really attentive and were happy to help and explain anything the party needed them to. The decor was really cool. We had lunch in the map room which was so interesting and the room took us back in time. The food was delicious and we would definitely visit again.

Outstanding! From the attentive staff, to the amazing food they serve, to the wonderful atmosphere that transcends and transports you into a world of love, culture and art. We discovered this piece of gem by pure chance, when exploring the city centre and thought we should try it out, as it looked very interesting when passing through…what a wonderful surprise we’ve had! The best basque cheesecake I’ve tried so far in the UK! The sandwiches they serve are authentic, made with the most delicious home bread ♥️ Just before we left, we had the pleasure to exchange a few thoughts with one of the owners…such a pleasure, such a wonderful spirit It will always now stick with us “the Bloomsbury group and their - “live in squares, paint in circles and love in triangles” Life’s magic is everywhere and in everything !

Mum and I visited here for lunch yesterday. She has been before and loved it so wanted to take me. Love the atmosphere here. We shared the cheese peach chutney toastie and the whipped feta on toast. Fab sourdough used. My favourite was the whipped feta on toast. Planning to being the rest of the family for cocktails soon! Thanks :-D

I've visited innumerable times, and each visit I am always somehow charmed even more by the gorgeous setting, lovely attentive service, and varied menu. Today I got a salad, which was really sweet and complex! Would highly recommend, as they now have a new menu... yum!!! I will say, I do miss the honey glazed salmon... it was so so good, shame it's gone... i was tempted to ask if they'd make it up for me! Irregardless, I'm still going to keep on visiting and keep on loving this stellar site!

Visiting Winchester on a wet Saturday afternoon and with two damp, tired dogs we asked a passing stranger for dog-friendly recommendations. They were very keen on this place. Very welcoming, super dog-friendly, relaxed atmosphere and wonderful food. We had one gorgonzola burger and one NYC burger. Proper home made burgers and coleslaw, great chips and onion rings. Very good portions and everything was delicious. Highly recommended.

My friend and I had a lovely lunch in this cute and interesting deli. I had the Lions Mane Mushroom Burger (possibly the best vegan burger I’ve ever had) with caramelised onions, gherkins, lettuce & vegan cheese inside and my friend the Halloumi Burger. The burgers come with a big side salad and delicious chips. The staff are incredibly welcoming and warm - can’t wait to come back for breakfast &/or dinner!

A friend of mine and I visited for the first time this past weekend. Two coffees (one was a Cappuccino) and two pain au chocolat. The latter were one of the best we've ever had (and I have lived in France). Compliments were given to the chef.

Dropped in here for a comforting breakfast to soak up my sins from the previous night. In fact, this place was recommended by staff in a nearby bakery as a great option for hot breakfast choices. They were not wrong! I opted for the Benedict with extra bacon and sausage on the side, and my partner took a culinary adventure with the Turkish. Both were incredibly delicious - full of flavour and great textures, and also good-sized portions. Coffees were also excellent - great quality, beautiful taste and served at just the right temperature. The staff were delightful and the ambience was just lovely. All in all it was a perfect start to a beautiful Sunday, and definitely helped me shake off any lasting effects from the previous evening 😊

Delicious food, especially the soup of the day (curried cauliflower) which was flavourful and creamy without being too rich. Friendly, helpful service and very cosy and well-decorated with plenty of character.

Greeted with a smile. The food was perfect, and hospitality matched! I recommend trying the house blend coffee, it’s rocket fuel for the morning. Then try something from the brunch menu, it all good and everything has a unique twist on the norm. Occasionally the menu changes with the seasons, the changes are tasty, gives lots of variety for regulars.

Amazing! Location was impeccable as was the lodge we stayed in. Wide open doors to the lake with your own private rowing boat for milling around. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and gave our family a lot of knowledge of the fish bred on the farm which was very interesting. They have paddle boards, kayaks ect all included and wild swimming which both we and the children loved (first time ever in a river!) Can't wait to come back. Also the beds were beyond comfortable. Well done all.

They will do whatever it takes to make sure your event is a success. If you're looking for a private space to throw any kind of event where surprise and delight are incorporated, this is your spot. The photos will be stunning no matter who you hire. It's THAT good of a setting. Sam and I will never get over how perfect this place is. The deep red bricks, the goddess statues that welcome you, the lake, the peacocks, the natural flowers that surround the home. Don't even get us started on the rooms themselves and the many accents. They've managed to modernize without losing the historic charm and yet nothing feels musty or museum-y. It just feels like you've stepped into a modern Bridgerton Summer House. GOALS, I tell you.

Stopped in on Wednesday for some lunch and sat upstairs in the booth. When we came in, we were immediately greeted and offered a table and the service was lovely. We got our drinks and food very quickly - fantastic panini and excellent coffee. 10/10 would return.
