“Finally managed to come by when there was a parking space available so could enjoy this lovely little stop for a quick bite. The cake selection was lovely and the hot meals looked delicious. Sadly we could only see the lunch menu on wall, so didn't know about all the breakfast baps that were available until after we had ordered and then heard a group ordering these. Just a suggestion, but maybe a board with breakfast offers on or copies of menus on tables to help us all see what's available. The staff were very polite and attentive, will definitely come again to try one of the toasted sandwiches”

“Beautiful village with walks by the pub. The fillet medallions were succulent and delicious, accompanied by fine green beans, with almonds (this was a fair portion that could be shared) and chips. Others enjoyed their food, venison, and cheeseburgers.”

“Found this place by chance after camping in the New Forest for the weekend. 100% recommend, a great menu and yummy food. I had the chicken and waffles and it came with a generous helping of maple syrup. The only thing I would change is serving the syrup on the side. I also had one of the best chai lattes I’ve ever had. Our dogs were made to feel welcome and were given treats by the staff. Thank you so much for a lovely breakfast!”

Hockey's Farm Shop and Farmyard Cafe
South Gorley, Fordingbridge SP6 2PW, UK

“Lovely little farm shop with some animals to look and say "wow that's nice animal please". The carpark is a bit too small considering how popular it is and the overflow isn't suitable in wet weather and it turns into a mud bath, it would also be better if the carparking spaces had some markings, as people aren't great at parking which leads to lots of people taking two spaces each. The staff were all very friendly and the coffees were nice. Farm shop well stocked.”

Hartletts Café

“Brilliant Cafe, friendly staff, nice and warm on a chilly winter day. Stopped in for lunch midweek which was much quieter than mid morning had been. The menu choices looked excellent and the food and drinks were really good quality, nicely cooked and all fresh ingredients. We had a full breakfast with a few swaps and a vegan breakfast. For the quality the price was very reasonable, especially as it included a drink. Delicious :)”

“Been here a couple of times now thanks to family buying us gift vouchers. Serving breakfast and lunch by the water, the Salt Cafe in Portchester is a real hidden gem. Good size breakfast, with vegetarian and vegan options, excellent coffee and a takeaway brownie to die for. Plenty of reserved parking around the Marina but do book as can get busy most mornings. Oh and it's dog friendly inside and out.”

“We did the wonderfully Knife skills course. Sarah was a great teacher supported by the brilliant team of Sergio and Katie. We got the chance to practise knife skills on lots of different vegetables and fruits as well as some meat as well as getting lots of really helpful shortcuts and tips . As you prepare 4 dishes ( including a desert ) for 2 people and only eat one of them for lunch you are guaranteed to leave with lots of delicious meals. The knowledge I gained is kitchen life changing. Well worth the money.”

Butser Roundhouse Café
X2G7+C9, Petersfield GU32 1QR, UK
Phone: Not available
“Dog friendly! Beautiful walk up and around Butser hill and the roundhouse is open Thursday to Sunday for hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, ice- creams, shakes, snacks, cakes, toasties and breakfast rolls. The best coffee! Dogs can have a puppachino for £1 and there's a water bowl. A friendly, family run business and a welcome pit stop on our walks :) the toilet is open until around 4pm and there are picnic benches. There are several routes up Butser hill from various locations but if you fancy just a walk around the top and the views, there is a road that goes up there from the A3, just past the Hampshire hog but be aware that there are pedestrians, horses and cyclists that use the same road. There is car park with a path that leads to the roundhouse. The car park isn't free but you can pay by card when you leave and it's only a short walk from there to the top.”
