My go-to for a takeaway coffee heading to work, great tasting coffee and some really tasty cakes, well worth a visit for takeaway or sit in. Friendly welcoming staff always with a smile as you walk in.

Visited this great little coffee house a couple of weeks ago with a friend. Popped in for coffee at about 11 and was glad to see it was buzzing as had only opened that week. Bright, fresh interior and friendly staff really make this place feel special. The coffee is really nice and a good selection of cakes. Indoor and outdoor seating, loo, sanitiser available, every little detail is well thought out. Great to see new businesses opening, they deserve to do well....Will defo be back!

This is a lovely Cafe. Clean, fantastic tasting coffee and lovely cakes. Not at all pricey. I love that there's a nice safe courtyard garden for kids....and dogs..yes pet friendly! Will definitely put this high on the list for coffee trips with my friends. Thank you Sean for making us so welcome! 🤗

Reuniting with friends after a long time calls for good food, great coffee, and a cozy spot—and Sisters delivered on all fronts! The prices were as amazing as the food, making it the perfect place to sit, chat, and indulge without breaking the bank. We fueled our catch-up session with iced mochas (because caffeine and chocolate are the dream team), a chicken, bacon & avocado sandwich (a trio of flavors that never fails), and the potato & chorizo hash, which was hearty, flavorful, and oh-so-satisfying. But the real showstopper? The hot chocolate fudge cake—pure, fudgy perfection that made every bite feel like a hug in dessert form. Great company, delicious food, and a café that felt like a hidden gem—definitely a spot worth revisiting!

A lovely restaurant/cafe with really great selection of breakfast and brunch food. I really liked my eggs Benedict, clearly freshly made. The coffee was also decent. The interior is cosy and a good venue for a catch up.

My partner and I visited The Coffee House for the first time the other week and we loved it! We were warmly greeted by the owner Johnny who took time to chat with us and make us feel very welcome. The food and coffees we had were delicious and we thought that the ambiance is very stylish and cosy. My partner recommends the Crème Brulée Latte. We will definitely be visiting more often and supporting this local independent business.

Beautiful service, the cappuccino Viennese was 🤌🏼 beautiful! Carrot cake 🍰 was beautifully made and all their food and baked are homemade ! Service was very warm and friendly. Highly recommend and beautiful interior 🖤

Visited here a couple of times now and it’s a local gem. The coffee is so well made; John really knows his craft and the service is alwaya excellent, so polite, efficient and friendly, And as for the banana bread, it’s delicious - definitely the best I’ve had this side of Australia (where we first discovered it years ago!) It comes with berries, honey and beautiful mascarpone cream. Incredible! The decor is nicely done too and you are instantly made to feel welcome and at home. Highly recommend!

Love this coffee shop! I'm quite picky with coffee so I like to go where coffee is actually good so I'm very pleased The Coffee House is good coffee. I often go with my little one and we love getting cakes. Sometimes I go there to work and the service is always great! Highly recommend the tomato pesto panini and the banoffee cheesecake.

Beautiful local cafe with amazing cakes. One of the most quality desserts venues in Portsmouth. Not overly sweet yet the flavours are delicate… finally something more “European”!

THE. BEST. CAKES. The best. No question. Don't even get me started on the Portuguese tarts. The quiche meal appears in my dreams, I slide around on the vinaigrette that drenches the potatoes. Bloody lovely.

Quiche, buns and cakes are all handmade. Lovely welcoming. Lovely coffee. Also, a garden. Keep it a secret! We don’t want everyone to know how wonderful this cafe is!

Just found this amazing place. Only just down the road from me and with a few days off work realised it was so good! Nicest coffee I’ve ever had in Portsmouth and the staff are amazing. Even ended up buying some ground coffee to take home. The flat white and macchiato are perfect and the smells and atmosphere are superb. Couldn’t ask for a nicer place to get your coffee. Might have to start walking down at weekends with the dog - it’s dog friendly and always a friendly canine to say hello. Thank you!

Coffee with a bang 💥💥 I absolutely love this place, one of my go-to coffee shops in Portsmouth. Awesome playlist on, super friendly staff and great tasting coffee. This place is superb. Check it out on a Friday when they have pastries from Bread addiction for sale and they are not to be missed! I always go for Americano and almond croissant, bad Friday habit, but I love it! They have lots of other weird and wonderful coffees to try, you can buy bags of coffee beans and also they sell steins of Hoffmeister beer!! 10/10 to Broadway, check it out. You'll not be disappointed.

Worth-walking-40mins-coffee shop. LOL. I love this place. It has amazing coffee beans and coffee beans are all processed in the shop. I tried latte and orange Blossom today. Yes, that's a lot but I can give up my lunch quota for them. I'm not really into sunshine but if you like it, you can sit outside. Willbe back.

Excellent coffee from a brilliant business. Go to order is an oat flat white and it’s fair to say Dave and the team know their way round a milk frother. Always spot on flavour wise, excellent price point, and wonderful service. 100% recommend!

Google reviews took us here after we stayed overnight for the football. It's as good as they say, great welcome and one of the best coffees I've had. Well worth a visit and we'll be back.

Oh my goodness I'm saved from my deprivation of good coffee. Been 5 days in UK 🇬🇧 and this was my first delicious devine Aussie style coffee Owner was chatty and informative about the area. Will be back If your in the area you must go there.

Wonderful cafe, with great variety on both food and drinks menu. Atmosphere is relaxed and good location. Plenty of seating space. Staff super friendly and jolly.

It's probably our favorite place to eat in portsmouth at the moment. The food is so tasty, the atmosphere relaxed and the staff are lovely. Even if you aren't a vegan, give it a go. The food is that good! The service is great, although it is walk-in service only, so get there early as it does fill up quickly.

What a marvellous discovery. In the heart of Albert Road is this wonderful cafe. Clean crisp decor gives a relaxed and chilled feel. Their coffee is excellent, as are their homemade cakes. They have an all day menu that looks fantastic. They even have a small garden area outback. Really worth visiting.

I gave this venue a four star as well as 4 star for food. I didn't realize it was vegan till I placed the order. The late was ok with coconut milk and the cake was ok. But vegan dining is not my thing. General appearance of the venue is super. It's really clean, bright and airy.

I popped in while doing a job around the corner. I was greeted with a warm welcome from the staff and owner and the atmosphere immediately made me feel welcome. The full English breakfast that I ordered was spot on, delicious, well prepared, and clearly made with care. I was surprised by the excellent value for money. The portion sizes were very generous, ensuring that I left feeling completely satisfied. I enjoyed my visit and would happily return in the future. I will not hesitate to recommend the cafe to others who appreciate good food and a welcoming atmosphere.

The food is incredible, I think they have all-day breakfast? I would recommend the french toast, its like the flavour explodes in your mouth. They got us a table within a few minutes even though they were extremely busy and we didn't have a reservation and they were incredibly welcoming and polite, food and drinks came out at a nice pace, the chairs are super comfy🤩, there is like a map on the wall and it is so cool, the decor is incredible. The atmosphere is so lovely and lively, full of life, very nice place to go with family and friends, they don't rush you, its so nice, definitly coming back!

An absolutely wonderful place for breakfast. Definitely worth booking a table as it gets incredibly busy. We had a couple of slight issues when ordering and had to adjust the bill but it wasn't a big deal at all. The food is exceptional, a huge choice of dishes but it doesn't seem to have an affect on the quality. Really nice coffee as well. I would say the juices are a little pricey but all in all, it's pretty good value for money.

We think you might have just gained a few more regular customers from our staff in the future too! The cheesecake from your sister company: Farm Bakery, was also amazing and we ate it in minutes!! Some of our staff even said it was the best cheesecake they have ever tasted in England! This is the second one we have ordered too! Thank you so much!

Incredible food, the Tavuc Sis was really tasty and cooked to perfection. Friends had the mixed grill which also looked great. Definitely one i'll br visiting again

Had a lovely visit with Bertie, he enjoyed his doggy breakfast. We had a cappuccino and a lovely mint milkshake. Service was really good and staff were friendly. Will definitely visit again.

Lovely place to visit with your dog - or for anyone who just loves dogs. We had a delicious breakfast for 4 with a very happy dog who was delighted at having a ball pit to explore too! Staff are friendly, as were all other customers. I am sometimes a little wary of 'dog friendly' places in case it is too 'busy' for our dog, who can get a little nervous, but that is not an issue at 'The Hideaway' because it really spacious and well laid out so environment was calm and relaxed even though at least 5 other dogs in there! Plus the breakfasts really were good!

Really good service, and the place itself is spacious and bright. It is also dog friendly. Tables are arranged in such a way to accommodate our fluffy (and not so fluffy) friends. I felt at ease there. Highly recommend, especially for dog owners!
