Josie's
28 Jewry St, Winchester SO23 8SA, UK
Phone: 01962 582690
“After visiting Josie’s in Winchester town centre now on multiple occasions I can assure anyone who goes an outstanding brunch selection! The menu is fantastic, not only are there multiple options for breakfast/all day brunch but everything is very reasonably priced for the quality and portions provided. I’d highly recommend this cafe to anyone looking for a great local brunch spot, I’m not directly for the area but I happily travel for places like this. The location of this particular cafe js slightly out the way of the town centre, however you will find there is normally a 30-45 minute wait time for a table (Approx for 2 people) which does allow plenty of opportunity to enjoy a walk in Winchester town centre while you wait!”

“What a little gem in Alton! We had a fantastic time visiting dill. We were very late to our reservation due to traffic and the staff were very understanding, which we appreciated. The atmosphere was very relaxing. We had the tomato and mozzarella sourdough special, the hog father (pork belly burger) special and the sweet corn fritters. We very much enjoyed everything!”

“Greeted with a smile. The food was perfect, and hospitality matched! I recommend trying the house blend coffee, it’s rocket fuel for the morning. Then try something from the brunch menu, it all good and everything has a unique twist on the norm. Occasionally the menu changes with the seasons, the changes are tasty, gives lots of variety for regulars.”

Cafe Monde

“This little cafe near Winchester Cathedral surprised me. It has a few things going for it: Chilled ambience, intimate and compact settings, and prompt low-key service. I ordered the breakfast omelette - containing bacon, sausage, and tomatoes wrapped in an omlette purse. It was sumptuous and substantial, just about moist, without being soggy. Iced mocha is impeccably made. The cafe doesn't try to be fancy, just the basics made well. Love it. ❤️”

Treehouse Coffee Shop

“Our first visit (won't be our last) to have a look around the nursery and have lunch. They were busy but were seated quickly. Service was very quick and efficient even though they were having WiFi problems. I ordered a tuna and cheddar cheese sandwich and was so surprised when it arrived. Good thick slices of bread and a massive amount of lovely filling served with a little pot of crisps. Excellent value for money and lovely, friendly staff”

The Little Kitchen Bistro
3a Stockbridge Rd, Winchester SO22 6RN, UK
Phone: 01962 807227
“We went to the Little Kitchen Bistro right after it had had a face lift, and they did a great job! The ambiance is amazing, despite it being a very busy small cafe ,and they even took the styling right through to the bathrooms....an area many cafes/restaurants forget. The service was attentive and, we thought, timely given how busy they were. The food was divine and, if you live in Winchester or are just passing through, you would do yourself a favour by calling in here for a drink and a bite. Once you've eaten, you can also get some Froz ice-cream, which is a treat with so many delicious flavours. For our breakfast, we had Smoked salmon, scrambled egg & avocado on sourdough, and the Fulflood Breakfast - hash brown, two slices of bacon, Cumberland sausage ring, home made baked beans, roasted cherry vine tomatoes, two fried eggs & toast (granary, white or sourdough). The salmon meal was delicious, with a generous serving of salmon, perfectly cooked eggs (which tasted free range) and nicely seasoned avocado...none of that bland mash you get elsewhere! The full breakfast was hearty and very flavourful, with the sausage being super tasty, and the homemade baked beans having an unctuous umami flavour profile.”

Butser Roundhouse Café
X2G7+C9, Petersfield GU32 1QR, UK
Phone: Not available
“Dog friendly! Beautiful walk up and around Butser hill and the roundhouse is open Thursday to Sunday for hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, ice- creams, shakes, snacks, cakes, toasties and breakfast rolls. The best coffee! Dogs can have a puppachino for £1 and there's a water bowl. A friendly, family run business and a welcome pit stop on our walks :) the toilet is open until around 4pm and there are picnic benches. There are several routes up Butser hill from various locations but if you fancy just a walk around the top and the views, there is a road that goes up there from the A3, just past the Hampshire hog but be aware that there are pedestrians, horses and cyclists that use the same road. There is car park with a path that leads to the roundhouse. The car park isn't free but you can pay by card when you leave and it's only a short walk from there to the top.”

The Departure Lounge Cafe

“I had my wedding here on 24th August 2024 and I honestly could not have picked a better location, more perfect host and the MOST amazing staff. I wanted an informal and very child and family friendly wedding and Simon made our special day just perfect. My Dads dog attended and got spoilt rotten, there were 21 children and bouncy castles, the hog roast and BBQ was to die for, I highly recommend! If you want your wedding to be perfect please choose this venue. Nothing was too much trouble for Simon and his staff. I literally can’t recommend enough. All guests said it was the BEST wedding they had ever been to. We went back the next day to load up and everything had been packed up ready to load the car, we didn’t even have to do that. We had access three days before to do as much as we wanted in preparation and to decorate. I read reviews and never write them myself but on this occasion I couldn’t not because this venue is simply AMAZING. And what makes it is the personalised and friendly approach from Simon and the staff. Don’t hesitate just book… And to review the cafe, my friends and I and my family visited many times in the run up to the wedding, the food is to die for, especially hard when you are trying to be good before a wedding, the general vibe is so welcoming and I would not hesitate to recommend this as a cafe for a bit to eat with friends and family. You will NOT be disappointed. Thank you The Departure Lounge for making our day simply perfect ❤️🥰❤️”
