“Food is always worth the wait to get in. You cannot book a table here so it's first come first served from what I can gather. The food is amazing here. The Christmas Turkey burger was so tasty and well worth getting as a limited time menu item! Brilliant service and attentive staff made for a great experience with such a large table of people. We didn't have a reduction in quality of service as a result of the larger group size.”

“It was my first time visiting The Beaulieu Bakehouse today and I am already looking forward to returning. Booked a table for breakfast and although it was empty when we arrived, probably due to the rain, it quickly filled up so is worth doing. It is such a quirky, cosy place inside and we had a great spot in the window seat. I mainly chose to go as they had such an extensive breakfast menu, especially for vegetarians/vegans. I chose the veggie hash, (fried potatoes, spinach, peppers, onions, veggie sausage and eggs.) They were happy to switch up the fried eggs with scrambled and it was absolutely delicious. Couldn't fault it. I was also really impressed with drinks menu. Alongside the usual hot beverages, there was a huge selection of milkshakes, frappes and iced coffees, which were delicious. Only marked the service down one star as our drinks came out with the food, and would have been nice to get them a bit sooner, but it wasn't really a big deal. Can't wait to come and try the lunch menu next week. Would highly recommend!”

“This cafe is very popular - during the August bank holiday, staff were having to turn customers away as they were full. Thankfully, I arrived early enough to get a table without a reservation. The decor has a woodland theme and is tastefully done. This cafe has an excellent menu - large sections for vegan and gluten free items. In addition to the extensive menu, there's a large board of daily specials for hot and cold food. There's also a display case with freshly baked items. I had a vegan croissant with scrambled 'eggs' (chickpea flour) and avocado. The croissant was flaky and delicious, exactly like an all butter version! The filling was generous and tasty too. This was followed by a rhubarb bakewell slice. I love bakewell tarts but it's difficult to find vegan versions. This 1 hit the spot. Lastly, I was smitten with the possibility of flotted cream - a vegan alternative to clotted cream. I ordered a vegan cream tea to take away which had a large scone (choice of fruit or plain) a little pot of flotted cream and a small jar of strawberry jam. It was outstanding. If it hadn't been such a warm day (and with no access to a fridge) I would have bought a large pot of cream which they sell saparately. I had a strawberry milkshake with vegan ice cream and oat milk. I could have had 10 of these, it tasted so good. It was a little difficult to get the attention of staff towards the end of the meal because they were so busy, so patience is needed during the busy lunch time.”

“We come to this wonderful cafe everytime we visit the New Forest. The food is delicious, the staff are very friendly and the owner, Mitat goes out of his way to make you feel welcome and to come and say hello. The All Day Breakfast is honestly the best we have ever had and we have eaten many over the years. The cafe has recently been refurbished and looks lovely. Highly recommend Peggy May's Lyndhurst.”

“A lovely little coffee shop, but it was fairly small inside, the tables nearest the front have seats pretty much on the windowsill. Lots of drink options but not as many for the very small kids (never confident they will finish anything we get them!) I think I paid about £20 for two adult drinks, two juices and a couple of slices of cake to share - not sure if that's good, I don't go to coffee shops enough to know the going rate! The cake was nice, a piece of caramel slice and a blueberry and lemon coconut cake. It was a nice stop to slow us down a bit whilst visiting the area.”

“The best place in Southampton 😍!!! I’ve come twice and wish I lived closer as otherwise I’d be here every week! It’s a fully vegan menu but with so many options, reasonably priced, and lovely staff and decor. They also sell some chocolates and vegan pantry essentials. To the owners- PLEASE keep the chicken tenders and deep fried cookie dough permanently! 😍”

“The Retreat is a quaint, inviting cafe and definitely a must visit in Brockenhurst if you fancy a delicious breakfast! We opted for the large English breakfast which arrived on a warm plate, clearly cooked to order (a rarity) and was presented beautifully! Excellent produce, from the golden yolk eggs, to the sausages and bacon from their local butchers. The baked hash browns were fluffy and mourish, all washed down with a cuppa! Great selection of homemade cakes- unfortunately we didn’t get to try any as we were full but looking forward to next time! Fleur and Paul were incredibly welcoming and attentive, you can see how much effort and love they both have put into their lovely cafe! They make a great team 🫖🍰🍳🥓☕️”
