Lovely coffee house - we watched the coffee beans roasting while waiting for our lattes and bacon rolls. Lots of coffee varieties on offer, together with cakes, rolls, bubble tea etc. Brilliant 👍🏻

The best place for miles and miles. I’m a qualified Barista and home coffee nerd and this places always excels. Roasted on site and made beautifully. Always worth going out of my way to come here. Thanks

It’s my second time going here and I’m really impressed. The coffee to go tastes MILES better than you’d get at Costa/Starbucks. The staff are lovely. Previously I queried how to use a moka pot and was given a full intro for it by the lady serving me (she was so patient!) and today’s employee was also very friendly. I’m enjoying the fresh coffee grounds at home too, and just really looking forward to trying more blends!

I’ve been twice now and will continue to go back. I had a Thai Milk Tea the first time which was absolutely incredible. Had no idea what to expect but that has quickly become my new favourite drink! The next time, I had the iced version which was just as yummy. I drank it in seconds! Super friendly and helpful staff too, great coffee shop

I usually come in for the excellent coffee and friendly service. Chloe for her super friendly and overall leadership attitude, and Katelyn for her excellent barista skills and super friendly as well. The owner is also consistently friendly and good for a chat. Overall it is usually one of the highlights of my day to come into Esquires and grab a cup of coffee, or food on my way to work.

Excellent coffee, food and ambience. Snehal, the owner was extremely courteous and professional. The staff in general are also very courteous. The only coffee shop to stop at for my next visit too. I briefly stopped before my meeting that was due in 45 minutes but came back for another cuppa and sat with my book for a couple of hours. Scrambled eggs on sourdough was very fresh and flavourful. The extra tea bad in my request for a strong tea was duly catered to and my afternoon americano was strong and fresh. I wouldn’t bother with other cafes around for the personalised service was stellar. I noticed that the dog owners were equally comfortable and cozy ! Thank you !

Got recommended to come here by a lady walking her pug in the park - it was -1 and my first time to Alton with my toddler and we needed to warm up. Walked past maybe 3 different coffee shops to find it from the public gardens and we were not disappointed. The owner was so welcoming and accommodating. I had the nutcracker latte and my boy had pom bears and water haha 😆. Looking at the menu, the food had lots of gluten free options and pricing was super reasonable. Really looking forward to coming back and tasting some!

Drove all the way from Basingstoke to visit this coffee shop and it was worth it. Amazing atmosphere and great coffee and food 😋, avocado toast was so yummy… I wish I had some more space in my tummy for a second round…. We sat back in a cozy corner to enjoy the coffee and food. Will definitely keep coming back here. Ohhh forgot to say, it’s pet friendly too..and Moyà also had some yummy treats

I had my wedding here on 24th August 2024 and I honestly could not have picked a better location, more perfect host and the MOST amazing staff. I wanted an informal and very child and family friendly wedding and Simon made our special day just perfect. My Dads dog attended and got spoilt rotten, there were 21 children and bouncy castles, the hog roast and BBQ was to die for, I highly recommend! If you want your wedding to be perfect please choose this venue. Nothing was too much trouble for Simon and his staff. I literally can’t recommend enough. All guests said it was the BEST wedding they had ever been to. We went back the next day to load up and everything had been packed up ready to load the car, we didn’t even have to do that. We had access three days before to do as much as we wanted in preparation and to decorate. I read reviews and never write them myself but on this occasion I couldn’t not because this venue is simply AMAZING. And what makes it is the personalised and friendly approach from Simon and the staff. Don’t hesitate just book… And to review the cafe, my friends and I and my family visited many times in the run up to the wedding, the food is to die for, especially hard when you are trying to be good before a wedding, the general vibe is so welcoming and I would not hesitate to recommend this as a cafe for a bit to eat with friends and family. We held our wedding reception here, on can not recommend it enough, Simon and the team were amazing with a professional can do attitude delivering the wedding of our dreams. The value for money is in the setting, the layout, flexibility and the extra touches already in place to make the wedding go well. We loved all the fairy lights, barrels, easels and decor all available for us to use included in the hiring fee. The quality of all the food, service and team were first class. The reception was even packed up for us to collect which made it so much easier to do the following day!! Thank you to everyone at departure lounge for achieving our dream wedding!

We had our wedding at The Departure Lounge Cafe and it was the best decision we made! Simon was so accommodating to all our wishes and needs for the day, we were able to create the day we had hoped for! Being able to have the venue three days prior then if day was really ideal, we were able to decorate and take our time setting up our wedding the way we wanted, Simon and his team did do a lot to help too! Our guests have not stopped talking about how amazing our day was from the food to the location to the atmosphere. We also got the cutest handmade gift, which was placed at our table setting. Thank you Simon and your team for helping create the best day ever!

We chose the departure lounge as our wedding venue and had the most amazing time. Family and friends all unanimously said what a wonderful place this was and how beautiful the scenery was. Simon was incredible working towards the wedding, he was extremely transparent with his services and open to what we wanted to do. Extremely good value for money too. We had set-up time a couple of days before so we didn't feel too rushed. Great food - go for the Hog Roast. On the day, he and his team were extremely pleasant and working round all of us to make the most special of days, special. Nothing was too much to ask. I would seriously recommend this place as a wedding venue. I've got in mind some birthday parties I would like to host in the future here too. Thank you DL for making our day! If I had to, (I hope not), I would do all of it again, there.

A little café hideaway with some beautiful canvas art on the walls and warplane nostalgia too. You'd swear you were sitting in a military bunker waiting for the order to fly. Great food as well.

The food was OK, only three small mushrooms on the big full English. Like the choice of breads, i.e., sourdough, white, brown. Staff were friendly. Cafe was clean good variety of meals.

Good value high quality fry up! Good location with parking on the street outside! Plenty of space and a bar table to sit and watch the world go by!

Great little independent cafe in Alton, does the trick for a breakfast, snack or just a hot drink and a catch-up with a friend. One off thing is the pricing on the breakfasts, such small differences in price versus what's on offer. Given Spoons is down the road, lowering the pricing of the smaller breakfast to stay marginally competitive might be worth a shout.

If im in the area I always make a point of going in. It's a cracking little cafe, it's a traditional bare bones cafe run by really friendly staff. To be honest I only use it for breakfast and it never disappoints.

Great customer service and a fantastic double burger with cheese and bacon! Has the feel of a traditional British cafe with images of the local community building hanging on the walls and a great atmosphere amongst the customers

Proper greasy spoon. This place let you actually customise your breakfast so you don’t have to take things off and ask to replace things, you pay £8-£10 (5 pieces for £8 and 9 pieces for £10) and it comes with a coffee. Parking onsite as well which is decent, staff are some sound people but the place feels like a proper caf

Stopped for a quick breakfast for me and the breakfast wraps for the kids. Quickly produced and quickly consumed. No issues with the food and plenty of seating. Certainly a good cafe to stop over at if you have time to kill for a bus or train.
