THE. BEST. CAKES. The best. No question. Don't even get me started on the Portuguese tarts. The quiche meal appears in my dreams, I slide around on the vinaigrette that drenches the potatoes. Bloody lovely.

Quiche, buns and cakes are all handmade. Lovely welcoming. Lovely coffee. Also, a garden. Keep it a secret! We don’t want everyone to know how wonderful this cafe is!

Beautiful garden, the café has a lovely atmosphere with relaxing music,not too loud. The cakes are all high standard and so tasty,made by the owner herself. I've just come home today with a couple of Portuguese tarts,they taste amazing, everyone's favourite!

Visit this amazing Café every week with a few of my friends. The atmosphere is lovely and the staff are the best Marie, the owner, is one of the loveliest people I've ever known and I adore the fact that she always remembers my favourite orders. x

Amazing find for Gluten Free fab selection of home made cakes and savouries, prepared separately so zero risk of X Contamination. Other 'normal' foods available. Highly recommended

My friend and I called in for lunch, we looked at the menu and there is a good selection, we enjoyed our food, well presented and cooked well. My friend, who is coeliac was really pleased with the selection of gluten free cakes. We will recommend this place to our friends and family. Thank you for a lovely lunch

As always clean, warm, safe & very friendly environment. All staff exceedingly helpful & very friendly, not intrusive. Food always cooked fresh & hot only short wait.

We stopped in for a lunch time bite to eat, our first time here. We arrived about an hour after lunch and there were plenty of tables to choose from, we sat ourselves out of the way in a quiet corner and were soon greeted by a very friendly lady who took our order and accommodated our item changes with no issues and almost instantly our drinks where on the table. In a very short time after our food was on the table,total visit time was half hour. The food was good value for money better than our normal cafe. The only single negative was the sausages but my wife loved them, so personal taste. Super good value and a fast friendly service will definitely be back.

Quirky seafront cafe. A must for Penguin lovers. Dog friendly, seating inside and out. Happy helpful staff and tasty home style food. The breakfasts are excellent. If you’re having a cuppa don’t forget to have a generous slice of homemade cake. Delicious.

What a lovely cafe! I was taken back to find it so busy on a Friday afternoon but when I saw the great choices of baked goods, the affordable breakfast menu behind the counter accompanied by the smiling faces there too. Well it made perfect sense! Me and my friend enjoyed some delicious treats and drinks and even had some friendly chatter to the people next to us, being dog friendly too is a huge bonus to me! I'll be returning that's for sure for another earl grey and delicious cherry bun.

Great located cafe with nice sea views, Lots of aircraft and boats out to watch. Went for the Penguin breakfast, great value at £7.50 including tea/coffee. Food came out quickly and was delicious and the staff were all fantastic. Unfortunately the coffee sucked, it was very weak and the epitome of free coffee so in future, I’d suggest the tea.

Great place. All staff lovely. 3 people had an array of food English breakies tasty, clear plates. Hot day, so chocolate milkshake for me - nice, just what was needed. Had it a few times, whilst away. Also so had 1 lunch the burger & chips, again well made, clear plate. I should of had their hot drink, to experience their penguin motif. An excuse to go back. Excellent all round

Went here in order to sit outside in the breeze off the lake and cool down but the service was so friendly and thoughtful. I only had a nice icecream sundae the first time but keep returning and enjoy everything. it is very good WITH GLUTEN FREE BREAD-and a great location with a ramp to the door too so it seems there’s very easy disabled access

£6:50 for 2 rashers and a sausage cut in half on day old bread 🤦🤷 the elderly waitress wasn’t welcoming and was making mistakes with other customers but atleast it’s a lovely location! 😆 tasty but dear!

I can't review the food as we only had a drink in here but I looked god coming out of the kitchen. Such a beautiful location right on a lakeside with great views due to its elevated position. Outside seating on a warm sunny day must be such a treat, we sat in by the window with the heating on a cold winters day and it was still lovely to sit and stare a while. Service was very friendly and efficient, cleanliness was extremely good. The place was nearly full about 1pm with lots of happy atmosphere. I will return onw7day to sample the menu for sure. Car park £1.60 per hour right next to cafe and the town centre across the road.

This chippy has gone downhill! I don’t normally post negative reviews. Ordered food as a Friday night treat at 1820 and finally arrived at 2020 after 2 phone calls chasing the order. Will be worth the wait we thought, it’s normally good, how wrong could we be! Food was very oily and very overpriced for what we actually got. The light bite fish and chips was awful, pictured below the fish was mainly a lump of oily batter (pictured on plate as it was inedible) and an about a dessert spoon of fish (I know it’s light but that’s ridiculous) This is pictured in the oily box (yummy🤢) with which seemed like the scraps of chips left in fryer. Sorry Scott’s Plaice very disappointing. (07/07/2023) Edit 13/07/2023 After a concerned phone call and a sincere apology from the owner we decided to give Scott’s Plaice one more try ………. Well it didn’t disappoint, after a temporary glitch,.normal service has definitely resumed. Absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked fish and chips. Yummy 😋 (See lower photos) Thank you again to the owner, a reflection of fantastic customer service, when you can face up to issues and pick up the phone and put them right. We will be back. Faith restored

THEY DON'T LIE TO YOU AS MANY OTHER PLACES AROUND, SAYING THEY HAVE VEGAN FOOD TO THEN, DO THE SAME MEAL BUT WITHOUT CHEESE OR ANY OF THE OTHER INGREDIENTS THAT ARE NOT VEGAN, SO YOU END UP WITH A TASTELESS THING. NO, THEY GO OUT OF THE WAY: THEY DO USE VEGAN CHEESE, VEGAN BACON,VEGAN MAYO, VEGAN MILKSHAKES... IF YOU ARE VEGAN YOU ARE GONNA LOVE IT AND IF YOU'RE NOT, I'M SURE YOU WILL, TOO. THANKS GUYS!!!

The food is amazing. The portions are very generous for the price. The staff is super friendly. I had the 4some fries. Absolutely delicious 🤤.

Genuinely the best takeaway I have ever had. The food was incredible and the portion sizes are massive. If your guts like me and love full flavoured foods then you need to order from here.

Great food. I'm not here often, so I can't compare now to the previous management. The staff were polite and cheerful and managed to cater to our table of 8 at a very busy lunchtime. The food looked and tasted great. Good value, too. Nothing fancy, good, honest food. Nice hot drinks, too. The only reason I deducted a star is because the toilet door is a nightmare to open and close due to water damage, and the front door slams, which shakes the whole wall of windows. Sort those, and it's a 5 star...

Had a great tasting coffee and sandwich sat outdoors in the late summer, so came back twice more and I'm sure I'll be back again. Staff are friendly and take the time to interact with customers. It's a quiet cosy atmosphere, close to the beach and you can just sit and relax.

Fantastic late breakfast here. The staff were friendly, cheerful and helpful. Plenty of gluten free options, including the sausages. Dog friendly too. What's not to love!
