On February 14th, I visited Tap and Tandoor for an evening meal with my daughter and girlfriend. First and foremost, the service was exceptional. Our server, Sam, was attentive and professional, ensuring we were well looked after throughout the evening. While the food was enjoyable, it didn't quite reach the level of authenticity I typically seek in Indian cuisine. The flavors seemed somewhat subdued, catering more to a general English palate. The lamb in the curry, for instance, had a gamier taste, reminiscent of goat, which overshadowed the spices. I would have preferred a bolder, more pronounced spice profile. Additionally, the lamb chops, while flavorful, were slightly overcooked, resulting in a somewhat dry texture. My girlfriend's butter chicken, while not entirely traditional, was the more appealing dish. I particularly enjoyed the "Papu" beer I ordered. Overall, we had a pleasant experience, largely thanks to Sam's excellent service. However, the food, while acceptable, didn't quite meet my expectations, making a return visit unlikely

From the moment we walked into Tap & Tandoor, we felt welcomed. The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere. perfect for a relaxing evening. The staff was attentive and friendly, our waiter, Sumzn, was particularly helpful and made impeccable service, We started with Vodka & Whisky, a Chicken Tandoori,Chicken Wings & Masala Chips which was absolutely divine. For our main course, We had the garlic naan and pepper chicken, which was perfectly cooked and flavorful, Overall, Tap & Tandoor is a fantastic restaurant, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious and memorable dining experience in Southampton. I can't wait to return!"

Had a great time out with the girls at Med Bar. The bottomless is great with very friendly and attentive staff. Your glass is never empty!!!! Food is very tasty but could do with maybe a little more with the butterfly chicken to line the stomach lol. Overall a fab night, thanks Med Bar!!!

Daniel was a super star!! He was so friendly and the service was incredible. We did the 241 cocktails, and had some recommended shots. Will definitely come back. Thank you Daniel!!!!

Super amazing place!! We've been served by the lovely Alice as soon as we came in Alice came straight up to us took our drink and food order got us all set up and literally second you empty a jug she's straight there waiting for your next order!! Also drinks are bloody Devine it's 2.40 we're on our 3rd jug got here at 2 would definitely recommend! Also had pizza and it was delicious 😋

Visited with colleagues for drinks only on a Wednesday evening. Dancing Man Brewery was recommended by colleagues and we were not disappointed! There was a great atmosphere as it was fairly busy for mid week. We didn’t eat here but enjoyed a couple of local ales. Would definitely return when next in the area.

Popped in for lunch. Good selection of sandwiches and burgers. The sausage sandwich was delicious. Good value too. I enjoyed a pint of their Old Fashioned bitter which also was delicious - quality was very high. Very friendly service and quick too. The location is superb, right across from the ferry terminal, in an historic building. Plenty of room here, especially upstairs, for group functions.

Very good Southampton pub opposite the Isle of Wight ferry terminal. Six cask beers on handpump when I visited including a mild. Lots of outdoor seating at the front. The pub building is Grade I listed. It has lots of history. The Wool House was built by Cistercian Monks from Beaulieu Abbey following the 1338 French raid on Southampton. It is the only surviving free standing medieval warehouse in Southampton. During the Napoleonic Wars it was used for French prisoners of war and some of their names can still be seen carved into the roof beams. The 20th century saw it used by boat builders and haulage contractors among others before becoming The Maritime Museum from 1966 to 2011.

The Dancing Man Brewery is a charming spot conveniently located near the ferry terminal, making it an ideal choice for both locals and visitors. I visited on a Sunday with my daughter, and despite not having a reservation, the staff graciously found us a table, showcasing their excellent customer service. The food was absolutely delicious and served in generous portions—so much so that we couldn't finish it! It’s a great place if you’re looking for a hearty meal that’s full of flavor. Beer enthusiasts will also be delighted by the extensive selection of beers, ales and IPAs on offer. The variety ensures there's something to suit every palate. Overall, the combination of great food, a warm atmosphere, and exceptional beer makes the Dancing Man Brewery a must-visit destination. Highly recommended!

Went for an early meal 6pm. Couple of artisanal beers👍 had Paella Valencia, wait time 40 mins as advised by waiter. It was excellent. Lots of mussels, clams, prawns and small pieces of chicken, peppers, rice etc. For a cold wet evening in Southampton could not fault it 😊

Absolutely delightful Spanish restaurant with exquisite cuisine! I've been a frequent visitor since 2021, and every time, the experience has been unforgettable. The highlight of the menu is undoubtedly their Spanish seafood paella mixed with meat – it's a heavenly blend of flavors that tantalize the taste buds. The service is impeccable, and the ambiance is charming, making it a perfect spot for a memorable dining experience. Highly recommended!

My family loved this place, I came here for my dad’s birthday and the staff were all so friendly. Angel greeted us as soon as we entered and sat us down. The food was delicious. The lamb shank was so tender I’m still thinking about it. Thank you angel for the amazing experience. It was truly the best . Definitely recommend and will visit soon.

Great food, great service, and generous portions. We arrived early for our booking, and had to wait for two of our party, but didn't feel rushed whilst we had a coffee while waiting. Three tapas dishes per person was plenty, and we had leftovers. The only problem with that is that there was so much on the menu that was tempting, and we had very little room for dessert! We'll definitely have to go back to try some of the dishes we missed out on.

The reception and ambiance of the restaurant was great. The lighting and decor definitely elevated the experience as well as the view from the restaurant. The cocktails we had were perfect as I didn't want something too sweet and the waitress recommended the perfect cocktail to me. Their signatures were unique and I would want to go back for them alone! The food was but no means bad, I'd only give it 4 stars though as it was not mind-blowing with amazing flavours. But I will say that it is Asian fusion really well done. My highlights were the duck pancakes, chicken and egg-fried rice. Tried a little of the Hazelnut dessert and wish I ordered myself one! Definitely one to go back to.

Wow wow wow!! From start to finish, an excellent experience of Asian tapas and fantastic wines: we cannot wait to visit again. Blue Jasmine had been on our radar for a couple of months to try. An easy, flat, 10/15 minute walk from West Quay, we incorporated visiting for Saturday lunch after a shopping morning. An absolutely beautiful setting in Ocean Village, Blue Jasmine offers a stunning bar, terrace and restaurant overlooking the yachts of the marina and beyond. A warm welcome from all and we started with a drink at the beautiful bar /lounge area before moving into the restaurant area; Warm woods, stunning lighting, cosy booths, attention to detail and of course, the view !! Service was top notch with helpful recommendations of how much to order and we settled on seven or eight dishes between the four of us. We chose some of the usual traditional offerings such as crispy duck with pancakes and spring rolls plus some new dishes (to us) such as honey and lemon chicken with the addition of pomegranate, Salmon Massaman and a Thai roasted chicken with tamarind and mint dipping sauce and Himalayan Pink salt. Salivating at the memory of that dish. By their recommendation we had a bottle of Italian red that somehow magically went with all the dishes we had. (A Barbera D’Asta, which was exclusive to them ) . Service was warm, welcoming and attentive throughout, we felt really valued and appreciated: I really can’t speak highly enough of the place and cannot wait to go back. You can easily set this as the place for either an easy going but top notch light lunch, as well as a THE place for a special occasion due to sumptuous setting and decor, and food and wine to warrant making a special trip for. I can’t say enough good things about the service at this restaurant. The food, the staff, the overall experience was outstanding. Myself and 3 others carried out their breakfast food challenge, the sheer amount off food provided, and to such high standard, still amazes me. Thank you again for the overall experience, was such a great morning out!! If you ever pass by, don't hesitate, just go!!!

I rate this cafe very highly, I have the same thing, a small breakfast, it’s more than ample. Alway hot straight off the grill, it’s a throwback to cafes I used in younger day. The staff are friendly but business like as their busy, but after a couple of years coming here, the staff are slowly starting to warm. Big thumbs up

I often get my truck cleaned at the tank wash next door, Never new this was here! It looks like an old porter cabin, BUT step inside and your greeted with a smile and food that is not only well priced but its actually good! Its a pleasant surprise to see good cafes are still in existence! I will be back next time :-) Thank you very much

Second time visiting this restaurant and have had a wonderful evening on both occasions thanks to the wonderful hosts and marvellous chefs. Incredible food, authentic and comfortable atmosphere and attentive service. 100% recommend to all :)

Came here pre covid and loved it. Visited again last night and have to say it was exactly as I remembered, food was lovely, well priced, really tasty and good sized portions. The service was top notch, nothing too much trouble. Honestly one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been to in the last 20+ years and we’ve already said next time we’re in Southampton we will definitely be eating here again

Lovely authentic Italian restaurant with a few seats inside. Best to reserve a table to ensure you get a place. Fully recommend the handmade pasta with very delicious spices and herbs. The pizza garlic bread was also amazing, and the service is also lovely.

Seven of us dined at Piccolo Mondo tonight and all of us thoroughly enjoyed every dish we had, clearing the plates of three courses each. The fries were a favourite between us, so unbelievably crunchy in the best way. The young brunette girl serving us was fabulous, she was very attentive and helpful with everything! Well done to her!

Soleto Bistro is an incredible Italian restaurant that instantly transports you back to Renaissance-era Italy with its charming and vintage decor. Every dish here is a masterpiece—whether it’s the starters or the main courses, the flavours are absolutely authentic and impossible to replicate. As a dessert lover, I was particularly impressed by their handmade treats. The tiramisu and Belgian dark chocolate dessert are simply addictive—absolute must-tries! The service is exceptional as well, making the whole dining experience even more delightful. Without a doubt, this is my number one Italian restaurant in Southampton. I’ve already been here twice, and I can’t wait for my third, fourth, and fifth visits and more! Highly recommended!

Enjoyed a delicious three course meal here. We were fortunate enough to be seated on a Friday evening without having booked. A little on the pricey side and I'm not a fan of a 12.5% service charge that is automatically added on to the bill, however the ambience and service was spot on. The chef even came out to see that guests were enjoying their food. My only advice is not to go particularly hungry unless you plan to have multiple courses or a couple of sides because the portions are a little modest.

Easily one of the best restaurants in Southampton. Amazing, flavourful Italian food and friendly service. The restaurant’s interior is beautifully decorated. Their Risotto Porcini is perhaps the best version of mushroom risotto I’ve ever tasted.

Waiter was engaging and extremely kind, funny, the food was great, the only thing I will say is there is needed more options of Italian food such as, gnocchi and pizza. I think the atmosphere is needed a more bigger environment but other than that the atmosphere was amazing. I would have liked a drink menu just might have been easier. But it was so amazing and will be coming back.

The staff appeared understandably under pressure due to the busy evening, yet they maintained a high level of professionalism throughout. A particular mention goes to the young, dark haired lady who assisted us was exceptionally knowledgeable and patient as my wife and I inquired about various dishes. Her attentiveness made a great impression. The view of the marina is absolutely stunning, adding to the overall charm of the experience. The dishes we ordered were hot, fresh, and delicious, although they took some time to arrive. However, given the bustling atmosphere, we found this understandable. While the prices are on the higher side, the quality of the food and service made it well worth it.

Great meal with great service from Tom. We started with the oysters and then proceeded to try everything we could. The souffle are phenomenal, the catch of the day, a sea bass, was delicious. The chateaubriand cooked perfectly, but in the UK they don't season it, so if your from the states before to ask for extra extra season or some sea salt from kitchen. One of best restaurants in a hotel we had during our travels and a big thank you to Tom who really took care of us, Would visit again!

Great food, friendly staff, and a lovely atmosphere. A great choice for any occasion!

Banging Roast Was a little scared when a Japanese pop up kitchen started promoting roasts but they have done a very respectful classic roast with some clear but sensible inspirations. Head chef was lovely, clearly knew what they were doing and had a great bubbly aura. beef was perfectly cooked over binchotan charcoal. All the veg was great and a decent blend of textures; Tenderstem broccoli was lovely and crisp and even tied the meal more into the Japanese inspiration without being ham fisted. Both my parents enjoyed their time, all the servers were lovely and dealt well with my family being a little awkward at times. They made the exception of Prosecco by the glass for my mother and were patient with my indecisive father. I know Unity beer has been through a lot and I’m sad it’s not the same as it was before, but it’s still fairly priced for local craft beer and was decent, but the highlight was the food.

Tasty Korean inspired pub food and great service. Korean chicken bao bun was juicy and crispy, and a very generous portion of boneless chicken to share as well! Nice indie soundtracks playing for a chill lunch

The Sunday roast here was amazing! Great portions and quality food. Staff was great as well, super helpful and attentive:)) 100% recommend and will be returning
