My son has been attending Kumon for three years now and I am very pleased with the progress he has done so far. I am also very pleased because Kumon is more than a tutoring school, Kumon teaches resilience and perseverance that are keys to succeed not only in Maths or English but in any subjects, and maybe in many aspects in one's life. We are very fortunate to attend Kumon Shirley that is run by Ivy Man who is a wonderful skilled and patient teacher. I like the fact that Kumon works hand in hand with the parents and the child to reach the same goal. Finally I must admit, I love Kumon because their homework are on paper and not on computer !

My son started Kumon in Shirley at the start of the pandemic and it is one of the best things we have ever done! His mental agility is very good and he is very confident in maths. Ivy and Alistair are brilliant, both with the students and their parents, supportive, approachable and very responsive if you ever need to contact them. Strongly recommended.

My eldest has been doing Kumon for about two years now and I've seen a massive improvement in his abilities in both Maths and English. He went from someone that was average in Maths to one of the top students in his class at the moment. The effort has certainly paid off and he's far more confident with numbers now than he ever was - often doing most if now all calculations in his head! 😮 My youngest now has also started and he's also making really good progress. My daughter has been doing Maths and English at the Shirley Kumon center. Kumon lays a strong foundation for the basics of Math and English. I can see how much she has improved in her mental Maths and in English expanding her vocabulary. It has massively enhanced my daughter’s academic ability, confidence, and joy to learn. She has excelled beyond her age group in her school. All the credit goes to the instructor Dr. Ivy Man and Alistair, both are supportive, approachable, and very responsive with students and understand their weakness and work on to improve in those areas. Both are very dedicated and hardworking. I have had weekly feedbacks following her class and progress reports once she completes each level. Nicola at Forest 1st Tutoring managed to work wonders in getting our daughter up to speed in time for the 11+ exam. We left it very late in the day to start preparing and Nicola agreed to tutor across the summer term and summer holidays - primarily using group work with additional one-on-one sessions on top. The transformation in our daughter’s confidence and attainment was amazing. The tutoring would have been worthwhile regardless of the outcome as not only has she achieved a solid pass in the 11+, she has also been really well set up to make a happy and confident start to year 6.

Armelle did a few lessons with me over summer to keep my skills up (focus grammar + translation) and to help improve my predicted grade. I got a predicted grade of A. She is very friendly and sets useful homework tasks between lessons.

I got in touch with Armelle after my son's Year 10 exams to help him have regular French practice and 1-1 help tailored to the areas he needed to concentrate on. Armelle was fantastic and my son thoroughly enjoyed the weekly sessions. Kumon has been so good for both me and my daughter. I have not been sitting with her to do a lot of homework from school. She has improved a lot in her practice especially Maths, with the help of Kumon. Her speed of work has also increased. Am so happy that she is at Kumon. Can’t rate the team enough. Jess and Alicia are fantastic with my child and have brought together a fabulous support team in their tutors. My child has found both in centre and online to be really enjoyable, and she actually wants to do it.
