Allison and the other tutors are very pleasant and genuinely care about their students. They focused entirely on each child’s individual needs, ensuring they received the right support to thrive. My daughter struggled with spelling, and we attended these lessons for the past three years. My daughter always felt encouraged and looked forward to every session. We’ve now stopped as she has caught up with her peers, thanks to the incredible progress she made in these classes. It was sad to leave, but I feel like the project has been successfully completed.

My son has been attending the GCSE maths drop in sessions since the beginning of year 11. I only wish he had started in year 10! We added an extra 1 to 1 session in the run up to the GCSEs for an extra boost. Issac and Sean are fantastic teachers. My son has improved so much. Both Issac and Sean explain things in a way that he understands and at his pace. 100% recommend.

My daughter has been attending First Class Learning Eastleigh for over 15 months now and her improvements are incredible! She lost so much confidence during lockdown but now has caught up and is excelling at both maths and English. We would wholeheartedly recommend Armelle. Our son began weekly online lessons with her in the spring of Year 10. She quickly identified the gaps in his knowledge and tailored a personalised programme that not only addressed these areas but also significantly boosted his confidence in speaking French. From the very first lesson he was fully engaged, so we felt comfortable leaving everything in Armelle’s hands. He achieved a 9 in his GCSE—a result he never thought possible after initially struggling with the subject, particularly speaking. He’s absolutely thrilled, and we’re so thankful to have found her.

Armelle did a few lessons with me over summer to keep my skills up (focus grammar + translation) and to help improve my predicted grade. I got a predicted grade of A. She is very friendly and sets useful homework tasks between lessons.

Armelle is a wonderful French teacher who taught my daughter for her GCSE. Within matter of few lessons Ami progressed so much. Ami felt confident in listening and writing aspect of French. Nicola at Forest 1st Tutoring managed to work wonders in getting our daughter up to speed in time for the 11+ exam. We left it very late in the day to start preparing and Nicola agreed to tutor across the summer term and summer holidays - primarily using group work with additional one-on-one sessions on top. The transformation in our daughter’s confidence and attainment was amazing. The tutoring would have been worthwhile regardless of the outcome as not only has she achieved a solid pass in the 11+, she has also been really well set up to make a happy and confident start to year 6.

This was excellent tutoring from a teacher who understands what is needed and how to help children achieve it. The best thing was that it was welcoming, encouraging and confidence building. My eldest has been doing Kumon for about two years now and I've seen a massive improvement in his abilities in both Maths and English. He went from someone that was average in Maths to one of the top students in his class at the moment. The effort has certainly paid off and he's far more confident with numbers now than he ever was - often doing most if now all calculations in his head! 😮 My youngest now has also started and he's also making really good progress. I would highly recommend Kumon to anyone that thats looking supplement their child's learning with additional Maths and English. Ivy and her team are really great and have often been very accommodating from reducing/increasing work, to start times and also making sure the children have everything they need to be able to complete their work. My son has been doing Maths at the Shirley Kumon centre for for about a year and a half. He feels his mental maths has got stronger and he is certainly ahead of his class. Kumon lays a strong foundation for the basics which are needed at every step. My son feels confident in calculations and Kumon has assessed him as 2 years ahead of the level for his age group. Maths is definitely his favourite subject. We have been to different Kumon centres, but this centre is by far the best. All the credit goes to the instructor Dr. Ivy Man, who is one of the best teachers we have met. She takes a keen interest in all her students. She is very dedicated and hardworking. I have had a progress meeting with her followed by a detailed report for my son and regular e-mail updates, which I have never had in any of the other centres. My son feels that she is very patient and answers all his questions and believe me, there is never a dearth of those in his mind! I strongly recommend St James' Park Kumon centre to all my friends.

My son started Kumon in Shirley at the start of the pandemic and it is one of the best things we have ever done! His mental agility is very good and he is very confident in maths. Ivy and Alistair are brilliant, both with the students and their parents, supportive, approachable and very responsive if you ever need to contact them. Strongly recommended.

My daughter is Autistic witch means her AUTISM makes her extremely stressed meeting new people , and been in new places with others very difficult, Mrs Jan Long was brilliant ,she manage to make my daughter at ease ,futhermore also acommodate her needs and difficulties with the social aspect in the assessment,and i hope in the Future ,she also can assess my younger daughter too, witch also Autistic. 1 year ago my daughter was so far behind in her maths and english i thought i needed a miracle after help at her school was turned down i didnt no where to turn until i found kip on the internet. I didnt no what to expect so was very surprised to find my daughter loved it and for a very shy person that was amazing i knew then i had done the right thing. she has been attended kip since july 2012 and it has been the best thing i ever did she has gone from a very unsure, and shy person to someone who cant wait till her next lesson she has improved so much way above my expectations and will continue to go here for a very long time. She really could not have done it without all the help and support they offered.

Jan has been absolutely fantastic and finally my daughter at nearly 13 years old has been diagnosed with dyslexia and dyscalculia. Jan worked with my daughter for 4 hours over two days and conducted the relevant testing. Jan explained everything thoroughly and clearly and both myself and my daughter were at ease the whole time. We have been lucky to find Jan and I am so happy that now we have answers. Without the help from Jan my daughter would not be diagnosed as unfortunately the schools don’t seem to do this so well. I highly recommend Wessex Tutors & Exam Center, and the Geography tutor Mrs. Gardiner and Maths Tutor Mr. Barber. The head of College Mrs. White and later Chris, are highly professional and very helpful in providing recommendations and suggestions in overall A level exams and preparations. The tutors ( Mrs. Gardiner and Mr. Barber) they matched with my son are of high quality, very patient and good at the subject. Mrs. Gardiner is such a nice, thoughtful and friendly tutor, which made the tuition a very enjoyable experience for my son. We'd like to give a big thank you to Wessex Tutors, for all they did for our son. All three of his tutors were excellent, and he now has a full set of GCSEs that has enabled him to go on and study the A levels he wants. It was invaluable in getting him back on track with education.

Our daughter Ellie moved to a 6th form college to study A level Biology where she was left to “self learn” complicated topics without support. We approached Wessex Tutors having been referred to them by a friend and we were matched with Helen. Helen is a hugely experienced Biology teacher, familiar with our daughter’s exam board and was therefore in a perfect position to fill in the gaps, she provided amazing support and much needed encouragement.
