My daughter currently has tutoring with Cate for English in preparation for her GCSE examinations. My daughter has really enjoyed these sessions from the start, and looks forward to them! Cate has been reassuring and given my daughter confidence. The sessions are creative and have been very helpful and inspiring, whether in person or on Zoom. I am very grateful to have found Cate and would highly recommend.

Cate was very good at assessing where our son was with his French and systematically helped him work on his weaker areas. His confidence in his ability to speak, read and write in French grew beyond what he ever imagined he would achieve, with the final proof being a very respectable GCSE grade. Cate is an excellent teacher for adults: patient, unpatronising, lively and witty. I have been having Spanish lessons with her for a few months and have made remarkable progress considering I started from scratch. The material she provides and way we are progressing is just right for an adult learner who comes at the learning in fits and bursts. As well as being erudite and a born linguist, Cate has a talent for meeting your needs with understanding and teaching pragmatic day-to-day constructions rather than school-book language. I'd wholeheartedly recommend her if you are an adult wishing to pick up or polish your French or Spanish. We also laugh a lot!

My eldest daughter sat her GCSEs this year, she was struggling immensely with maths and was barely receiving grade 4s throughout year 11. She stated attending I love to learn in December and with her tutors support, she received a grade 6 in maths. When it comes to personal tutoring, Felicity sets a new standard. She truly went above and beyond my expectations. First and foremost, her passion not just for the subject but life in general was a huge inspiration for me. I contacted Felicity when I was in my last year at university, I was struggling for confidence and belief that I could graduate. Before anything, she listened to me, got to know me on a personal level, and was, therefore, able to shape our sessions to best help me. Felicity was able to give me the confidence and belief in my ideas and ability that pushed me through my last year. She felt like a safety net, ready to catch me whenever I fell. Nothing was too much to ask of her. Often she'd stay well beyond are arranged times to give me extra help if I asked for it. Maria has been brilliant right from the start with my child. Nicola at Forest 1st Tutoring managed to work wonders in getting our daughter up to speed in time for the 11+ exam. We left it very late in the day to start preparing and Nicola agreed to tutor across the summer term and summer holidays - primarily using group work with additional one-on-one sessions on top. The transformation in our daughter’s confidence and attainment was amazing. The tutoring would have been worthwhile regardless of the outcome as not only has she achieved a solid pass in the 11+, she has also been really well set up to make a happy and confident start to year 6.

I would like to thank Tom for all the support he gave me during my A level Biology course. I achieved an A in my A level Biology exam. The A level Biology group lessons were very informative. Along with the information provided in the lesson, Tom used active recall to test us on our knowledge and engaged us in the lesson which deepened my understanding and retention of A level Biology concepts. Furthermore, when we answered long question types we would use an interactive whiteboard to answer the questions, and he would regularly check our work and provide areas of improvement for our answers.
