Nicola at Forest 1st Tutoring managed to work wonders in getting our daughter up to speed in time for the 11+ exam. My son has been doing Maths at the Shirley Kumon centre for for about a year and a half. He feels his mental maths has got stronger and he is certainly ahead of his class. Kumon lays a strong foundation for the basics which are needed at every step. My son feels confident in calculations and Kumon has assessed him as 2 years ahead of the level for his age group. Maths is definitely his favourite subject. We have been to different Kumon centres, but this centre is by far the best. I have had a progress meeting with her followed by a detailed report for my son and regular e-mail updates, which I have never had in any of the other centres. My son has been attending Kumon for three years now and I am very pleased with the progress he has done so far. Can’t rate the team enough. Jess and Alicia are fantastic with my child and have brought together a fabulous support team in their tutors. My child has found both in centre and online to be really enjoyable, and she actually wants to do it. My son has been going to Whiteley Explore Learning for more than 2 years now and I could not speak more highly of it. A combination of SEND needs, unsuccessful home schooling during the pandemic and a need for my son to have more 121 support meant that I looked for private tutoring and was recommended Explore. At first my son was reluctant to attend, but now it's his special place and he's very happy to go. The staff are wonderful, incredibly supportive and adapt to his needs. If I find out my son is struggling with a topic at school, I let the team at Explore know and we work as a team to help improve his understanding of the topic, so that he grows in confidence and ultimately ability to tackle the topic.
